Elara’s POV

The purple slime in the cauldron rose ominously and all a sudden, it flew out of it, darting straight for me. I could see it coming at me but for some reason I was completely frozen and couldn’t move to block it or dodge.

I felt a shove at my shoulder that pushed me out of the way, making the purple slime creature bounce against the walls. It was Lucan, he had pushed me out of the way.

“Thank you”, I said shakily. I had no idea what the thing they had concocted was, I couldn’t feel any sort of energy or smell anything from it, but it was clearly…alive.

“Catch it”, Leah yelled, jumping across the room to seal her hand over it. True to its nature, it was slippery and escaped from her grasp, jumping over to the door and squeezing under it.
