Kael's POV
I stood by the window in my study, staring out at the training fields below, though my mind was far from the sight before me. Damon entered quietly, closing the door behind him, his boots clicking softly against the polished floor as he approached. “You missed the elders’ meeting this morning,” he said, his voice careful. “They waste time with their endless talk,” I replied, not turning to look at him. “I’ll hear their reports later.” He sighed, crossing his arms as he watched me in silence. “You haven’t been yourself lately.” I finally glanced at him, my brow lowering. “What do you mean by that?” He shifted under my gaze, eyes flicking away briefly before returning to mine. “Your temper has been shorter. You’re distracted. Even now, you’re not here. Your mind is elsewhere.” I clenched my jaw, feeling irritation coil tight in my chest. “My mind is exactly where it should be.” “Is it?” he asked quietly. I turned fully to him, eyes narrowing. “Say what you’re thinking, Damon. Don’t waste my time with half-words.” He exhaled slowly, rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s the girl, isn’t it?” I felt something cold settle in my chest at his words. “She’s nothing,” I said flatly. “A breeder. A transaction. That’s all.” “Then why haven’t you touched her yet?” he asked, his voice gentle but firm. “It’s been days. The elders are starting to question if you intend to use her at all.” I looked away, jaw tightening until it ached. “I will.” He nodded slowly, studying me with an expression I didn’t want to name. It made something ugly twist in my gut. “Just remember what your father did to you,” he said quietly. “Don’t become him.” “I’m nothing like him,” I snapped, my voice sharper than I intended. Damon didn’t flinch. He just bowed his head slightly. “Of course, Alpha.” He left the room without another word, leaving me alone with the roaring silence in my chest. That evening, I found myself standing outside her door, staring at the polished wood without moving. I didn’t know how long I stood there, listening to the sound of her quiet breathing on the other side. Pathetic. With a growl of disgust at myself, I pushed the door open and stepped inside. She was sitting by the window, her long hair braided neatly down her back, the pale cream of her dress glowing softly in the candlelight. She turned to look at me, her silver-gray eyes widening slightly, and something in my chest tightened painfully before I forced it down. “Stand up,” I ordered. She stood slowly, her movements graceful despite the shackles that kept her ankles close together. I walked toward her, each step heavy with purpose, until I was close enough to feel the warmth radiating off her skin. Her scent curled around me, sweet and sharp all at once, and it made me unable to focus for a while. I clenched my fists at my sides, ignoring the faint change. “You know why you’re here,” I said coldly. She swallowed, her eyes dropping to the floor. “Yes, Alpha.” I reached out and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at me. Her skin was soft beneath my fingers, and I hated the way it made my pulse quicken. “You belong to me now,” I said, my voice low and harsh. “Your body is mine to use as I see fit. Do you understand?” Tears welled in her eyes, but she nodded once, her shoulders trembling. “Yes.” I didn’t wait for her to speak again. I pushed her back onto the bed, the mattress creaking under her small weight. My hands moved with practised ease, untying the delicate ribbons of her dress and pulling the fabric aside until her pale skin was bared to the cool air. She didn’t fight me. Didn’t scream or beg. She just lay there, silent tears slipping down her temples into her hair. I took her the way I was expected to – hard, fast, and cold. There was no tenderness in my touch, no warmth in my grip. I refused to let myself feel anything as I moved above her, refused to let my eyes linger on the way her lips parted in silent pain, refused to acknowledge the faint scent of her tears that filled the air between us. She was nothing. Just a transaction. Just a body. When it was over, I pulled away without a word, adjusting my clothes with cold precision. She lay still, her eyes closed, silent tears slipping down her cheeks. I watched her for a moment, waiting for the satisfaction that never came. Instead, something shifted deep inside me – a faint crack in the heavy wall I had built around my chest. I clenched my fists, ignoring the faint warmth that spread across my palm where I had touched her bare skin. It felt… wrong. Dangerous. Without another glance at her, I turned and left the room, slamming the door shut behind me. My footsteps echoed down the hall, each one heavy with something I refused to name. But as I walked away, my hand rose to my chest, fingers brushing the spot where her warmth still lingered. And for the first time in years, I felt something I couldn’t explain.Third Person POVThe manor slept quietly that night.Moonlight bled through tall windows, silver against polished floors that had carried the weight of warriors and servants for centuries. Shadows leaned and stretched with every flicker of torchlight, alive in their silence. The air smelled faintly of herbs and old wood, a scent that clung stubbornly to the stone, no matter how many fires burned.A cloaked figure slipped down the corridor, each step measured, careful. The hush of their cloak against stone sounded far too loud. Their breath was shallow, chest tight, heart hammering so violently it was a wonder the sound did not wake the entire manor. They knew these halls. Every crack, every turn, every place where light lingered too long and shadows were safest. They had walked these paths for years, and yet tonight the manor felt hostile. Every whisper of air seemed to accuse. Every flicker of flame stretched into watching eyes.A sound cracked through the stillness.Boots.The cloak
Eren’s arms were wrapped so tight around my neck I thought he might choke the air out of me. His little body trembled, shoulders shaking as he buried his face against my chest, muffling the sound of his cries. His fingers dug into my shirt like claws, refusing to let go, as if letting go meant I would vanish. And gods, wasn’t he right?I held him close, one hand spread across his back, the other cupping head. I bowed over him, shielding him with my body like I could protect him from the truth that was already tearing us both apart.“I don’t want you to go,” he choked out, voice small, broken. The words lodged like a blade in my chest. I closed my eyes, inhaling slowly through my nose, steadying the fire clawing at me.“I don’t want to go either,” I admitted quietly, my lips brushing against his hair. “But I have to. You understand that, don’t you, little wolf?”He shook his head violently, face pressed harder into me. His tears seeped through the thin fabric of my shirt, damp against

KAEL’S POVThe wooden swords clashed again and the sound rang out across the training ground. Eren’s arms wobbled under the weight, but his eyes burned with that stubborn spark that always made my chest ache.“Should I go again?” he asked, breathless but grinning.I lifted my blade, teasing, “You’ll break me before I break you, Eren. Now try again.” He laughed, then stumbled back into his stance. His feet were too far apart, his elbows sticking out like chicken wings. I stepped forward, nudging his arm.“Hold your sword closer. Tighten your hold here. Think of it like holding a shield and sword together. You lose balance, you lose the fight.”“Like this?” He adjusted, wobbling but proud of himself.I tilted my head. “Thats actually much better. Still a bit clumsy as always, but better.”He pulled a face. “You’re mean, Kael.”“Truth isn’t mean. It’s training.” I smirked. “Now try again, pup.”“Stop calling me that.”“I can't do that, pup. You’re exactly like one.”Eren lunged, swingin
ELARA’S POVThe rain had started as a drizzle, a gentle mist that clung to the air like a whisper of warning. I told myself it would pass, that I could ignore it, that I could keep my mind steady. But Kael had other plans. He always did. Somehow, he always knew how to make me happy.“Come on,” he said, that mischievous glint lighting up his eyes just before he reached for me.Before I could protest, his hand wrapped around mine, warm and firm, and then, gods help me, he dragged me straight out into the storm.“Kael!” I yelped, stumbling after him as the sky split open above us. “Are you insane?”The downpour came all at once, heavy and relentless, soaking through my clothes in seconds. My hair plastered against my face, the fabric of my dress clinging to every inch of me, cold and wet and humiliating. And yet…He was laughing. That low, unrestrained sound rumbled from his chest as if the rain were some kind of gift. I hated how much it tugged at me, how his joy had a way of sinking in
Elara's POVMy hand shot to the hand and I swiveled to face a menacing looking Naomi. It seemed like my words had made her mad."Let go of me." I gritted out, my veins bulging as I tried to hold in my anger."No. Who the fuck do you think you are? You think you're better than me just because Alpha Leah supports you? Just because you live at the pack manor, you suddenly think you're all that? At the end of the day, you're just a useless bitch whose only achievement is birthing a child. At this point, with how stupid that boy is, I don't think that itself is and achievem.... Ahhhh" Naomi clutched her face in her hands while screaming like a pig about to be slaughtered. How crass and uncultured. I thought she had a sweet and melodic voice? She had released me subconsciously and I stood at my full height and looked down at her.Blood flowed from her neck where I had knicked her with one of my now elongated claw. "How dare you? I can take anything you say to me but you dare to bring my
