Mikaela

“What happened to you, baby?”

My voice shook as I knelt beside Declan. My heart was pounding so hard it hurt. I reached for him, brushed the sweat from his forehead. His eyes were wide, unfocused. I have never seen him like this before.

He was too young. Way too young. He wasn’t even close to the age most wolves shifted for the first time. This shouldn’t have happened.

“Isn't it too early?” Someone asked

Yeah no shit.

The people behind wouldn’t stop talking and I wanted them all to shut the hell up.

Declan’s breathing started to slow, his claws retracting little by little. He looked exhausted, like he’d just fought a battle.

I pulled him even closer, cradling his head against my chest. “You’re okay, baby. You’re okay. I’ve got you.”

From the corner of my eye, I saw Samuel and Lisa standing off to the side. They looked terrified, Lisa’s little hands were trembling, and Samuel was biting his lip so hard it looked painful.

I held out a hand to them. “Come here,” I said softly, tr

RyanI stood there, staring at her like she had just said something completely out of place.Did she just say she needed to see me?What the hell was that supposed to mean? The hallway was quiet and empty which wss good because I didn't want anyone witnessing this whole thing. I leaned against the doorframe, still trying to process what was happening. The girl, with her nervous eyes darting everywhere didn't know what to do next. So I cleared my throat. “What did you just say?”She blinked fast, like she didn’t expect me to ask. “I said… I needed to see you.”"Do you mind telling me why?”She hesitated, fidgeting with the edge of her sleeve. Her lips parted but no sound came out. I could see her struggling to find the right words, or maybe she didn’t even have any. Either way, it was weird.“Well..?” I pressed.“I just… wanted to,” she finally said.I almost laughed at that. Wanted to? That’s it? She risked sneaking all the way here to the Alpha quarters, at this hour, because she "w

RyanOh God. I actually just thought about it didn't I...hated that I even thought about it. That I thought about wanting Mikaela to stay. But I did. Hell, I couldn’t even lie to myself about it.The thought had just slipped in quietly at first, thanks to Jenna, I tried to ignore it, but now it was sitting in my head. I do wanted her close. I wanted my kids close. But I wasn’t some Alpha who would chain her up or force her to stay. No, that wasn’t me. If she stayed, it had to be her choice. But I already know what her choice would be. She's not happy there in Scarlet Pack. I know that. I coupd see it in her eyes that she wanted to be anywhere but there But still… I still have to find a way. Something that would make her want to stay. For now, though, that would have to wait. There were pressing matters you deal with here at Monsoon Pack.I went back to my quarters that morning and shut the door behind me. The silence in the room was too much and uncomfortable. I sat on the edge o

Ryan “What do you mean you won’t let her leave?” I asked, staring at Jenna like she’d just lost her damn mind. When has she never lost her mind? Never. For some reason, she had that usual smug look plastered on her face like she knew something the rest of the world didn’t. I saw her lips just curled into a grin, and instead of answering me directly, she gave that fake breathy laugh that grated on my nerves. “You heard me, you should fix Mikaela where she is. At Scarlett. She doesn’t belong here and she never did.” I blinked at her, trying to make sense of the nonsense coming out of her mouth. “You’ve officially gone crazy,” I said flatly. “What the hell are you even talking about?” She tilted her head like she was studying me. This woman knew how to stir up trouble for real. “You’re not stupid, Ryan. You know what I mean. The three months are almost up and she’s supposed to come back to Monsoon soon. You and I both know that’s not a good idea.” Her tone was calm. Way too ca

RyanI figured Malcolm’s ego must be known all over the damn world. The guy couldn’t walk into a room without letting everyone know he was the Alpha of Silvermoon. It didn’t surprise me one bit that Tobias already knew who he was.Silvermoon’s reputation spoke for itself, tgat I knew. Good houses, well-trained warriors, strong resources. On paper, they looked like a perfect pack. But I knew better. Behind all that glory, Silvermoon was crumbling from the inside out. The rogues, the outdated rules, the broken morale, it was only a matter of time before things got worse.I turned on the faucet and splashed water on my face. The cool touch didn’t help much, but it cleared my head a little. Lifting my gaze to the mirror, I stared back at my reflection. I looked reallt tired. My eyes were red at the edges, my hair was damp from the quick shower I’d just taken. They gave me my old quarters here, which honestly totally made sense. Tobias wasn’t the type to make special arrangements for gues

RyanDamnit, Malcolm. He seriously needed to change his rules. Every Rogue seemed to know him.One of the rogues lunged before any of us could move.It happened fast. One second, they were circling and growling at us as their leader taunted Malcoln. The next, they were on us. Snarling, biting, swinging claws.I didn’t think. I shifted mid step, and my sharp claws burst through my hands as I met the first rogue head on. I slashed across his chest, feeling bone give under the blow. He dropped, but before I could catch my breath, two more came flying at me from the side.“Shit—!”I ducked and kicked one off, grabbed another by the throat, and slammed him into the ground. For every one I cut down, two more jumped out of the trees. The rogues were everywhere and they were moving too fast. There was only so much I coupd do as Alpha.Malcolm’s warriors fought hard, but even they were slipping. Their growls were weaker now and their movements were getting slower. The rogues just kept coming,

RyanIt had been two full days since that hell-ish council meeting, and I was still thinking about it. The arguments, the looks...the way those old bastards defended their outdated ways like it was something sacred. Like it was something to hold close to the heart like some bloody sentimental property. Now, it was the third morning after, around 7:00 a.m., when we finally hit the road, our destination: Monsoon territory. The sun was just climbing over the trees when the convoy pulled out from Silvermoon’s gate, two black SUVs in front and one behind, moving in quiet formation. I sat in the backseat of the middle car, the one Malcolm insisted we 'share', staring out the window as the endless stretch of the green valleys blurred past. The ride had been quiet for the first few hours. The forest outside was dense, wild and untamed. Sometimes, I caught a glimpse of deer running through the underbrush or shadows shifting where they shouldn’t. Wolves from both packs, Silvermoon and Scarlet
