Chapter 7

Author: Mountain River
The speedboat felt like a fragile leaf tossed in the violent sea, ready to be swallowed by the next towering wave.

Felix's entire body was drenched in icy seawater. The sting of salt burned his eyes, but he didn't care.

There was only one thought in his mind: find Jean.

The sea after the tsunami was a chaotic graveyard—wrecked boats, shattered planks, and debris drifting across the water.

"Jean!"

His roar was swallowed by the roar of the waves, returning nothing but silence.

Despair seeped into his chest like the freezing water around him.

The healer's words echoed relentlessly in his mind, "She's twelve weeks pregnant."

His twins… his unborn twins… were out there with their mother, facing life and death in this hellish ocean.

If only… if only he had noticed the signs sooner, seen through her disguise earlier, understood his own heart a moment sooner…

But there were no "ifs."

  • Running With His Twin Heirs Right Under His Nose   Chapter 11

The morning sunlight poured through the windows of our home in the Neutral Territory, scattering warm patches of light across the floorboards. The air carried the faint scent of cardboard and the bittersweet aroma of farewell.Today was our last day here.Felix was carefully packing the boys' bottles and toys into a large box. His movements were gentle, an almost surreal contrast to the commanding presence of the Alpha he was.I worked nearby, meticulously organizing my research notes and materials. They were treasures I had amassed over the past year. While tidying the bookshelf, my fingers brushed against an unassuming wooden box.I paused, then opened it.Inside lay the magical scroll that had once severed our mate bond—the scroll that had irrevocably changed my fate.Seeing it, long-buried memories surged to the surface: the resolute signature, the anxious waiting at the airport, the lonely march into an uncertain future.Felix noticed my silence. He set down what he was c

One year later, at the annual awards ceremony of the Healers' Association. When my name was announced, thunderous applause erupted from the audience. The special antidote I had developed to cure wolfsbane had brought new life to countless afflicted wolves.Tonight, as the youngest recipient, I was to receive the highest honor: "One of the Top Ten Outstanding Healers of the Year."Dressed in an elegant gown, my long hair swept up, I stood under the spotlight, confident and professional, thanking hundreds of guests. My every movement and gesture radiated poise, drawing every eye in the room.In the very back corner, Felix sat quietly, holding two adorable boys in his arms.I could see it in his gaze—there was no trace of the possessiveness or control that once defined him. Only pure pride and admiration remained. The little ones seemed to sense their father's emotions. One, with golden eyes identical to mine, looked curiously at me on stage, cooing as if cheering me on.The other

When I woke, the first thing I saw was Felix sitting beside my sleeping bag.The bloodshot redness in his eyes had deepened, and stubble had darkened his jaw. He looked both haggard and exhausted.Surprisingly, seeing him like this stirred no emotion in me… only a bone-deep fatigue.Instinctively, I built a mental wall, warning myself not to soften, not to give him another chance to hurt me.I deliberately looked away, as if he were nothing more than air.I forced myself upright and, ignoring my weak body, stepped out of the tent.My colleague Noah was taking inventory of supplies. Seeing me, he asked with concern, "Are you okay? Do you want to rest a little longer?""I'm fine. I need to check on the herbs," I replied, shaking my head as I strode toward a specially designed storage chest.Inside were the rare herbs we had risked our lives to gather—precious ingredients essential for studying the cure for wolfsbane. The instant I opened the chest to inspect the contents, the se

The rescue helicopter reached the reef at dawn. It was a round-trip operation. The helicopter would ferry the survivors away in batches.I directed the first group onto the helicopter, and when it lifted off, carrying the survivors away, I finally allowed myself a brief exhale of relief.Dragging my exhausted body, I moved toward the temporary tent, hoping to rest for a moment.A hand suddenly shot out from the side and gripped my wrist. It was Felix. His hair was plastered to his forehead with seawater. His expensive clothes were stained with mud and salt. It was a disheveled sight, but those deep gray eyes locked onto me with a panic I had never seen before."Let's talk," he rasped. His usual commanding tone was gone, replaced with a pleading tone.I didn't struggle. I met his gaze calmly. "I think there's nothing left to talk about between us.""I know about your escape plan… I know about the pregnancy. I know everything." He tightened his grip on my wrist as if fearing I mi

"Summon every member of the pack. Use every resource. Within ten minutes, I want Jean's location." Felix barked the order into his phone. The Alpha power raging inside him, unsettled by fury and panic, spilled outward in crushing waves of dominance. The very air grew heavy beneath his presence. The young healer nearby collapsed to the floor, legs trembling, unable to withstand the weight of his aura.Minutes later, his Beta's voice came hurriedly over the line. "Alpha, we've located Luna Jean's flight. She went to the Neutral Territory by the western coast.""Prepare the helicopter." Felix snapped the command, cut the call, and strode out.For the first time in his life, fear clawed at him.Every thought of Jean—of the woman who had always stood quietly behind him, offering her strength without ever asking for anything in return—sliced his chest open. Now, she carried his pups. And she was alone, in a foreign place, unprotected. His heart felt as though talons were tearing it ap
