16 - P O T I O N

Pernwél

Illuminated by the moonlight, I follow the path laid out in front of me. It looks as if the trees have moved out of the way to make space, leaving roots and lifting the ground in their wake. As I kept walking through the dark forest, the snow cracked beneath my feet. Just then, I realised I’m barefoot and wearing nothing but a thin white nightgown.

I can’t sense the cold feeling between my toes as the snow and ice slips around them. I should feel ice-cold by now. Strangely, I don’t feel anything except for the uncontrollable urge to keep moving.

I watch out for the tree roots so I won’t trip and I’m thankful that the full moon tonight shines bright enough to be able to move further; pulled by some invisible force to keep going deeper into the forest.
