Emma’s POV

“Absolutely not.”

Killian looked up from the notepad in his lap with an incredulous grin. “You didn’t even let me finish saying it.”

“Because I already know where this is going.” I raised an eyebrow as I waddled over to the couch with a bowl of strawberries. “If you say ‘Khaleesi’ one more time, I swear to God…”

“I was going to say Kira,” he said with mock innocence, then winked. “But now I’m rethinking Khaleesi just to mess with you.”

I plopped down beside him, groaning as I adjusted the pillow behind my back. “You are the worst.”

“Correction.” He leaned in, brushing a kiss against my temple. “I’m the father of your children. Which means I get naming rights too.”

We’d been going back and forth for days. After Alina, who was named in a rare moment of mutual inspiration, we assumed baby number two would be just as easy.

Wrong.

  • Ruthless Temptation   Cravings, Kicks, and Chaos

POV: Emma Pregnancy at this age was… different. Not in a bad way—just in a my-body-is-definitely-sending-me-signals-louder-than-ever kind of way. Emma stared at the empty jar of pickles in her hand, a faint frown tugging at her lips as she realized she’d demolished the entire thing. Again. It wasn’t even noon. “Babe?” she called into the house, her voice echoing faintly down the hallway. “We’re out of pickles!” Killian’s voice drifted back, tinged with amusement. “Again? I bought two jars yesterday.” “They betrayed me,” she replied dryly, waddling toward the kitchen in her oversized sweater and leggings, one hand resting protectively over her growing bump. “They were weak.” She caught sight of herself in the hallway mirror and paused. Her belly had popped more quickly this time, and though she adored every moment of it, she couldn’t help but marvel at how fast thi

  • Ruthless Temptation   Preparing for a New Chapter

POV: Killian ⸻ The late autumn breeze rolled through the trees like a gentle whisper, stirring the leaves at his feet as Killian stood in front of the old headstone. Henry Thomas . Beloved husband. Devoted father. Honest man. It had been years since he last visited the cemetery alone. Life had a way of pulling him forward, demanding his attention—his energy—but lately, something within him had stirred. Maybe it was the ultrasound photo still tucked in his wallet. Or the sound of Emma’s heartbeat syncing with their son’s. Or the way Amelie and Alina had burst into laughter when they picked out ridiculous baby names over dinner last week. Maybe it was everything. Killian dropped to a crouch and rested his hand on the edge of the cold stone, brushing away a few dried leaves. “Hey, Dad.” The quiet stretched. The kind of silence that didn’t need to be filled.

  • Ruthless Temptation   The Gender Reveal

Emma The sun poured through the kitchen windows, warm and golden, as Emma tied the last ribbon around the box. It was just big enough to hold a few helium balloons, but it felt like it carried the weight of a thousand emotions. “Okay, I think we’re ready,” she said, glancing at the clock. “They should be home any second.” Killian stood across the room, pretending not to be nervous as he arranged cupcakes on a platter—half with pale pink frosting, the other half baby blue. His fingers were steady, but she could see it in the set of his jaw, the way he kept glancing at the box like it might give up its secret early. Emma moved closer, brushing her hand across his back as she passed. “You’re more anxious than I was before our wedding.” He shot her a look, amused and soft. “That’s because I already knew how perfect you’d look walking down the aisle.” She arched a brow. “Smooth.”

  • Ruthless Temptation   Nesting Again

POV: Emma The nausea hit Emma before her eyes even opened. It was subtle at first—an uncomfortable twist in her stomach, a familiar weight that took her back over a decade in an instant. She groaned and buried her face in the pillow, willing the feeling to pass. “Morning sickness already?” Killian’s sleepy voice murmured beside her. “I hate this part,” she muttered into the mattress. Killian chuckled, rolling onto his side and placing a warm palm against her back. “Come on, you used to say it was a good sign. Remember? ‘Means things are sticking.’” Emma turned her head toward him, the nausea already fading now that she was upright. “That was before I remembered how miserable the ‘sticking’ phase is.” He grinned and leaned in, brushing her hair back with the gentleness that always disarmed her. “Want me to make you toast?” “With ginger tea?”

  • Ruthless Temptation   Sharing the News

POV: Killian Killian stood at the stove, stirring the marinara sauce with a wooden spoon, but his mind wasn’t on dinner. It was on the two girls upstairs, entirely unaware that their world was about to shift. Again. He exhaled through his nose, glancing at the clock. Any minute now, the stampede of feet would thunder down the stairs. Alina would pretend she wasn’t hungry but end up taking seconds. Amelie would chatter non-stop about school, soccer practice, and the new kid in her class who had a pet snake. And then… they’d tell them. The baby. The news sat like a weight on his chest. Not a heavy one—just enough to make his heartbeat trip a little. He’d faced hostile boardrooms and million-dollar acquisitions with less anxiety than this moment. Emma stepped beside him, gently bumping her hip against his. She’d just finished setting the table, hair tucked into a loo

  • Ruthless Temptation   The Decision

Emma The fluorescent lights of the OB-GYN clinic hummed softly overhead, casting a sterile glow over the quiet waiting room. Emma sat with her hands pressed to her lap, fingers intertwined, heart fluttering so wildly she could feel it in her throat. Killian sat beside her, his hand resting over hers, warm and grounding, though his thumb tapped an anxious rhythm. She stared at the closed door ahead, behind which they’d soon hear confirmation of what she already knew deep in her bones—she was pregnant. Again. Her mind swirled with a thousand questions, doubts, and dreams all colliding at once. She’d barely slept the night before, lying awake thinking of diapers and sleepless nights, of first words and first steps, of the way a newborn’s cry could shatter your heart and fill it all at once. Killian gave her hand a soft squeeze. “You okay?” he murmured. Emma nodded, not trusting her voice. The doo
