GILDA’S POV

I never imagined she would go that far.

Standing there, watching Jane unravel in front of Japheth, I felt a mixture of disbelief and reluctant amusement. What exactly did she think she was doing? If anything, she was only making a mockery of herself.

She stood boldly before Japheth, her shoulders squared, her chin lifted as though she were prepared for war. Her voice trembled, but she forced the words out anyway.
