Aiden’s POV She looked at me with widened eyes and mouth agape. At this moment, I had no idea whether she was shocked to see me or shocked at the fact that I called her “wifey” either way, she looked so cute that way. “Samantha,” Mr. Salvador tapped her and she regained her composure. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Callymore.” She smiled, and I could tell that smile didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Skip the formalities, call me Aiden.” I winked at her and helped myself to a seat on the couch. She nodded slowly and sat down as well. I scanned her from head to toes. She hadn’t changed a bit except for the fact that she had lost a bit of weight. She left and made me wait for three years, now she is back, and I am never letting her out of my sight again. We went to the same university and studied the same course, went to the business academy together. I fell for her at first sight, but she was completely engrossed in her studies and head over heels for that imbecile that turned her into this. I still pushed my luck and worked hard, and when I became successful, made a proposal to her father, who agreed, but she left. For three years, I waited to see if she would come back, and I’m glad I was patient. Samantha Salvador, I will make you mine and make your gold digger of an ex-husband suffer for causing you so much pain. “Welcome once more, Mr. Callymore. My daughter has finally returned and agreed to your proposal. Don’t you think we should start with marriage preparations?” He asked and I smiled. My eyes went to her, and she had a frown on her face. I crossed my legs and folded my arms, waiting for what she was going to say. “Marriage preparations? That’s too soon, dad. Besides, I still need to get used to being the CEO of the company. You can just dump two responsibilities on me at the same time. It’ll overwhelm me.” She frowned and folded her arms, a look of discontentment on her eyes. “The sooner you two get married, the sooner you can walk side by side in the company. He will be your business associate and will assist you. It would be fine!” Her father countered, but she shook her head in disapproval. “I still need to know what I’m getting into, dad. I told you I was going to marry him, and you know me for keeping my word. So trust me on the one. I won’t run away if that’s what you’re scared of.” She gave him a look of reassurance and I smiled. She was a smart lady. More reason why I need to make her mine. “Is that okay with you, Mr. Callymore?” He asked. “Yes, I am fine with that. I will work as her business associate as well until the time for wedding preparations come. Like she said, she isn’t going anywhere. I trust her on that.” I replied and she looked at me. Our eyes met, and I held her gaze for a moment before finally looking away. I stood to my feet and tucked my hands into my pockets. “I will be on my way now.” “Before you leave, I would like to inform you to the company’s event tomorrow night. There, I’m going to fully announce her as the CEO of the company. As her groom to be, you have to be there.” Mr. Salvador requested, and I gave him a nod. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I said and looked at her. “Till tomorrow, wifey.” She rolled her eyes and looked away, but I didn’t mind and walked out of the house. “How did it go?” Seth, who had been waiting for me outside asked. “Just the way I want it!” I smirked and made my way to the car. “Mr. Callymore, please wait!” I stopped dead in my tracks at the sound of that voice. I turned to see Samantha running to me. When she got to where I stood, she scrutinized me with her gaze. “Is there something you want to tell me?” I asked and she cleared her throat. “I wanted to request for a favor from you. I’m not comfortable getting married to you at all. My parents are forcing it on me and I know your parents might be forcing this on you as well—” “I am not being forced,” I interrupted her and her eyes widened. “I’m doing this all on my own because I want to.” “Marrying me is something you want?” She asked, looking around in disbelief. “Yes.” I answered plainly. “It’s like you haven’t heard. I’m about to divorce my husband. I shouldn’t be the kind of person you’d want to get married to.” “Do I look like I give a fuck?” I rolled my eyes be got into the car. “But why? Why do you want to get married to me? We don’t even know each other. You’re a young man who should be living his own life. It wouldn’t be good for people to see you with me.” She complained and I heaved a deep breath. “If you start having more confidence in yourself, you’d realize you should even be picking the kind of people that can talk to you. Believe me when I say you’re more than the Samantha I’m seeing right now,” I said and she became silent. She looked like she was pondering on what I had said. “And about why I want to marry you, the answer is simple. I want you and anything Aiden Callymore wants? He gets.” With that said, I wound up the window, and we drove out of the vicinity. A smirk found its way to my lips when I saw the flustered expression on her face when I said the last words. I suddenly remembered something. “Seth,” I called and he hummed. “I need you to do a background check on Samantha’s ex-husband.” “Sure, but why? You have no business with him.” Seth answered and I snickered. “No one messes with my woman and goes scot-free.”143.Three Days Later…Aiden was already going crazy and frustrated. He had been trying to gather evidence on Estella, but the ones he had weren’t going to make anything happen. Nothing would stick. Every time he thought he had her cornered, she slipped through like smoke. He ruffled his hair and plopped down on the chair. The fact that Samantha was going to be taken to rehab in two days was more than enough reason for him to lose his mind. It wasn’t just rehab—it was isolation. A silent erasure. Once she was in, Estella would make sure she never came back the same.He needed to do something before they wouldn’t be able to do anything at all. He massaged his temple as he tried to think. He groaned and patted his head, his eyes already red from all the late night work and browsing. He had never been this stuck in his life. Samantha had good record. There was no way the police would believe such a thing. After thinking for a while, Aiden decided the only for him to be able to actually
142.Estella was in her room having a drink with wine and cigarettes. There was loud music playing while she screamed and danced. “I can't believe that actually worked!” she giggled and plopped down on the bed.Ryan smirked and took a sip from his wine. “See? I told you it was going to work. Who knew hiding that drugs in her room before leaving the house after she framed you would actually come in handy right now.”Estella giggled. “I know, right? I did tell her I was going to make her face the same thing. I also replaced her pills with drugs--”Her words were cut off when her door swung open and Linda barged in. “You bitch!” she rushed to Estella and pulled her to her feet, dragging her out of the house and into the living room.“Get your filthy hands off me!” she snapped, her eyes blazing with fury but Linda didn't care.Ryan remained in the room because he didn't want Ray, Estella’s father to see him. Ray has warned him to stay away from Estella and stop influencing her for a long
141.It had been a quiet afternoon: sunlight streamed through the living room window, casting a warm glow across the furniture as Samantha, Ashlyn, Linda, and Mia lounged in the house, each occupied with her own thing. Laughter occasionally erupted as they shared jokes and swapped stories over cups of iced tea. It was the kind of day that felt ordinary and safe but was it really? This was the kind things out of the ordinary usually happened.Without warning, a loud knock echoed through the house. They didn't wait as the front door swung open a moment later, and several police officers strode in with determination in their eyes, their expressions unreadable.Samantha and the girls quickly stood up. What the fucking heck was going on? Why would these people barge into their living room like that?“Good afternoon,” one of them said firmly, his eyes scanning the room. “We’ve received a report regarding drug abuse at this residence. We’re here to investigate.”The room fell into stunned si
140.TWO WEEKS LATER...Darcel has been invited to a dinner party. She looked around the place with a smile and walked to the table that had been reserved for her. When she got there and sat down she saw that someone else was also supposed to sit here. She was so curious to look at the name, but she had to control herself, so instead she crossed her legs and took out her phone.“Well, who do we have here? If it isn't my favorite artist, Darcel Russell.”Darcel blinked. That voice sounded oddly familiar. She looked up from her phone and her eyes widened. “Tristan?” she called, beaming with smiles. “Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?” she stood up and they hugged before he took a seat.Tristan chuckled. “I was invited. Actually, my Dad was invited, but he couldn't come and I had to take his place. I'm glad I didn't say no.”Darcel smiled. “Your Dad?”Tristan nodded with smiles. “It's good to see you again, Darcel. Los Angeles is a pretty sweet place.”Darcel nodded. “Yeah, it is,” she
139.Aiden shielded Samantha with himself but Sullivan's men pulled her away. Aiden tried to get to her but they blocked him.“You already have your money. What else do you want?” Samantha snapped, her eyes glistening with tears.“No more word from you, Samantha else I'll have no choice but to quickly finish you off.” he warned.“Sullivan, it hasn't gotten to this. Drop the gun and we can talk.” Aiden said.Sullivan shook his head, his eyes gleaming with malice. “Oh, no, Callymore. I’ve had enough of talking.” He raised his gun and pointed it at Samantha’s stomach, his finger itching on the trigger. “This is what you get for betraying me, Aiden.”Aiden’s mind raced. He had to think fast. He couldn’t let Sullivan hurt Samantha or their child. He took a step forward, his hands raised in surrender. “Sullivan, please, don’t do this. If you want revenge, take it out on me,” Aiden pleaded. “Samantha and the baby are innocent. They don’t deserve to be hurt because of me.”Sullivan’s smirk wi
138.Aiden had returned after searching in vain for Samantha. He was literally going crazy while Seth tried to calm him down.“She's fucking pregnant, Seth. She's pregnant and got kidnapped!” he yelled. “If I get my hands on Sullivan, I'm not going to spare him!” Aiden snapped.Jessica didn't say a word. She just cried while Yasmeen and the girls tried to calm her down. “I contacted Bianca, but she told me he had blocked her weeks ago. Besides, he wouldn't be dumb enough to use the same number.” Linda said.Aiden ruffled his hair and paced as he wondered what to do. “Ashlyn,” he rushed to his sister and held her. “You know Sullivan better than all of us. Where do you think he must have taken her? You might at least have something to know--”“Aiden, relax,” Ashlyn placed her hand on his shoulder but that did little to calm him down. “I don't really know where he has taken her, but one thing I'm sure of is that he wants something. You know he lost everything after the whole saga with y
