Samantha’s POV My thoughts kept drifting to what Aiden had said yesterday as I prepared for tonight’s event. What did he mean by he wants me? At first, I wondered if I was a commodity but when I began to think deeply, I got to understand what he actually meant, and I’m still in shock. Could it be that he had been waiting for me for three years? What could actually be his motive behind this marriage? I had spent the night doing some research about his company and realized he was doing just fine and didn’t need anything from us. He dealt in the importation and exportation of cars and that was the best business in the states. Our company didn’t hold a candle to his, so what exactly did he want from me? All of these thoughts raced through my head, and it annoyed me that I couldn’t get an answer to them. A knock on the door jolted me out of my reverie. “Come in,” I uttered, turning the door. It opened and Linda walked in with a box in her hand. She walked to where I sat on the bed with a smile on her face. “What is it? Why are you smiling this way?” I asked, and she stretched out the box to me. I arched my brows, giving her a clueless facial expression. “It’s a gift from Mr. Callymore.” She winked at me and my eyes widened. “We aren’t married yet, and he is already sending gifts?” I scoffed and dropped the hairpin I was holding. “Just open it, let’s see what is inside.” She suggested and I sucked in a breath. I collected the box from her and opened it. “Wow!” Was my first reaction. It was a gown; a beautiful blue gown. My eyes were wide in shock as I pulled the gown out of the box. A note fell from it and it read, “Wear this gown to tonight’s event, wifey. You’re the CEO, you should turn heads tonight.” Love, Aiden. My heart melted at his words and I didn’t know when a smile came to my face. I took off the cloth I was putting on and slid into the one he bought. It was like the dress was made for me. It looked beautiful and fitted me perfectly, accentuating my curves in all the right places. It has a beautiful deep V-neckline that showed a bit of cleavage but not too much, and the hemline hit just above the knee while the rest flowed to my legs. The fabric was soft and smooth, and it flowed gracefully as I moved. I couldn’t believe how good it looked on me. I felt like a million bucks. “You look stunning, Samantha.” Linda gushed. “Thank you.” I said, still staring at myself in the mirror. I couldn’t deny that I felt beautiful in this dress. Linda let my hair down in waves and adorned my legs with silver heels. The makeup on my face was moderate yet hot. I get confident. “Have you gone through the list of the invited guests?” I asked Linda and she hummed. “Yes, and you were right. Bianca is going to come. And since she is your ex-husband’s new chick…” She trailed off. “He'll come to the event with her.” I completed it. “Bingo!” Linda exclaimed and I smirked. I picked up the divorce papers from the bed. After much reasoning last night, I summoned the courage and signed the paper. I was entering a new phase of my life. Stinky gold diggers aren’t welcome. With a smile, I dropped it in my purse and smirked. “Let’s go settle some scores.” **** We arrived at the company and with Linda beside me, I walked in and looked around. The place was filled to the brim with different businessmen and women. Some were in a heated discussion, while others just made connections. It was obvious that most of them had no idea who I was. They knew my father had two daughters but because I hardly show my face, they knew Estella more, and I’m certain they are all expecting Estella to be the one. Jokes on them! I looked around again to see if I could get any sign of Aiden, but I couldn’t find him. I actually wanted to thank him for the dress. “Hi, sister, you stole the company from me. You have always been a thief!” Estella snapped and I turned to look at her. “Do not cause a scene here, Estella. I don’t have the time for all these now.” I warned and started walking away from her. Someone pulled me by the hand, making me stop. “Samantha?” I turned after hearing my name and saw Nathan. As expected, his hand was linked with that of Bianca. She scanned me from head to toes with her eyes and snorted. “I almost didn’t recognize you. What the heck are you doing here? Are you probably a servant to one of these influential men?” Nathan asked, mockery dripping from his tone. “She even borrowed a dress to fit in. Or did she steal it because there is no way she can afford this dress!” Bianca laughed out loud. “Are you done?” I asked the two of them, and they blinked at me. “Not everyone is like the two of you. This dress can buy you two, so watch your mouth.” I sassed back at them and made to leave, but Bianca held him. “I’d let go of that hand if I were you.” We turned to where the voice came from and saw Aiden, l approaching us. He was dressed in a black suit and was even hotter than yesterday. Could it be because he gelled his hair or something else? Bianca quickly let go of me and beamed at him. “We were just sorting some issues out, Mr. Callymore.” She explained, but he said nothing and held my hand as he took me from there. He stopped walking and I stopped too. He looked at me for a while. “You look stunning.” He tucked a strand of hair behind my ears. “Thanks. You look good too. Thanks for the dress. I love the color blue.” I smiled at him. “I know, that’s why I bought it.” He answered. I was about to say something when the sound of the mic stopped me. My eyes went to the stage. “Announcement! Before the event begins, I’d like to introduce you all to the new CEO of Salvador Enterprises. Welcome The Salvador Heiress, Samantha Belle Salvador!” He announced, and the hall thundered with applause. “That’s your cue.” Aiden smiled at him. I nodded with a sigh and, with my head up, made my way to the stage. The claps increased and cameras flashed in different directions as they tried to get a shot of me. I got to the stage and gave them a slight bow. “Hi, I am Samantha Salvador, Heiress to Salvador Enterprises and now the CEO!” I announced, and the claps intensified. My eyes went to Bianca and Nathan, whose eyes were wide in shock. That’s exactly what I want! I have risen and no longer the lady they looked down on. Now it’s time to make them pay!5.Samantha’s POV My thoughts kept drifting to what Aiden had said yesterday as I prepared for tonight’s event. What did he mean by he wants me? 4.Aiden’s POVShe looked at me with widened eyes and mouth agape. At this moment, I had no idea whether she was shocked to see me or shocked at the fact that I called her “wifey” either way, she looked so cute that way.“Samantha,” Mr. Salvador tapped her and she regained her composure.“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Callymore.” She smiled, and I could tell that smile didn’t quite reach her eyes.“Skip the formalities, call me Aiden.” I winked at her and helped myself to a seat on the couch. She nodded slowly and sat down as well.I scanned her from head to toes. She hadn’t changed a bit except for the fact that she had lost a bit of weight. She left and made me wait for three years, now she is back, and I am never letting her out of my sight again. We went to the same university and studied the same course, went to the business academy together. I fell for her at first sight, but she was completely engrossed in her studies and head over heels for that imbecile that turned
3.Samantha’s POVI walked out of the car and heaved a deep breath as I stared at my parents’ huge mansion. A familiar feeling crept to my stomach as I sucked in a breath and made my way into the house. For three years, I stayed away from them, neglected the family name and followed Nathan. For three years, I cut off all links and connections with them because I wouldn’t want them finding out where I lived with Nathan, and come to avoid my true identity getting exposed. One reason I had stayed away from them and followed Nathan was because Father wanted me to take over the family business and also get married to Aiden, one of the wealthiest and youngest billionaires in all of New York City. I knew it was for business and I wanted to marry for love, which fueled my determination to leave everything behind and marry Nathan.I just realized how much of a stupid fool I had been then.As I walked in through the door, maids had already lined up to welcome me. I walked past them with my head
2.Samantha’s POV“This marriage isn’t working out the way I want it, Samantha. I don’t feel the need to keep trying to make it work out and—”“What are you saying, Nathan? I am the only one who has been trying to make this marriage work for three years; three shitty years, Nath. You can’t call for a divorce out of the blue, not after everything I’ve done to make all these work out.” I conveyed, hoping he would get the hint that he had done nothing in this marriage except telling me how much he wanted me to work harder to provide for the family, and reminding me that I am the reason his company went bankrupt. He glared at me, his face contorting into a stern frown. “What did you just say? I have tried making this marriage work. How dare you tell me you are the only one putting effort? I still kept you after you ruined me. Marrying you brought my company down in shambles and I tolerated you for three fucking years. Haven’t I done enough?” He yelled, drawing the attention of Laylani and
1.Samantha’s POV“You imbecile!” Laylani snapped and the next thing I knew, her palms connected with my cheeks, giving me a resounding slap that sent my ears ringing.I gasped as my hands went to my cheeks that stung from the impact of the slap. I looked at my mother-in-law, tears blurring my vision.“How could you be so clueless?” She barked, her body trembling as a result of the anger. “Don’t you know how to do anything right? How dare you tell me you want to quit your job? Do you have any idea how much help that particular one has been to us?” She yelled at me, her shrill voice echoing through the hallways.I stared at her as hot tears streamed down my cheeks. I couldn’t bring myself to say anything to her. Haven’t I done enough? I worked multiple jobs and have practically been providing for this family. After Nathan, my husband’s company suffered a major loss, I took it upon myself to help support the family. So far, I’m working six jobs and the stress is taking a toll on my ment
