Samantha’s POV My thoughts kept drifting to what Aiden had said yesterday as I prepared for tonight’s event. What did he mean by he wants me? At first, I wondered if I was a commodity but when I began to think deeply, I got to understand what he actually meant, and I’m still in shock. Could it be that he had been waiting for me for three years? What could actually be his motive behind this marriage? I had spent the night doing some research about his company and realized he was doing just fine and didn’t need anything from us. He dealt in the importation and exportation of cars and that was the best business in the states. Our company didn’t hold a candle to his, so what exactly did he want from me? All of these thoughts raced through my head, and it annoyed me that I couldn’t get an answer to them. A knock on the door jolted me out of my reverie. “Come in,” I uttered, turning the door. It opened and Linda walked in with a box in her hand. She walked to where I sat on the bed with a smile on her face. “What is it? Why are you smiling this way?” I asked, and she stretched out the box to me. I arched my brows, giving her a clueless facial expression. “It’s a gift from Mr. Callymore.” She winked at me and my eyes widened. “We aren’t married yet, and he is already sending gifts?” I scoffed and dropped the hairpin I was holding. “Just open it, let’s see what is inside.” She suggested and I sucked in a breath. I collected the box from her and opened it. “Wow!” Was my first reaction. It was a gown; a beautiful blue gown. My eyes were wide in shock as I pulled the gown out of the box. A note fell from it and it read, “Wear this gown to tonight’s event, wifey. You’re the CEO, you should turn heads tonight.” Love, Aiden. My heart melted at his words and I didn’t know when a smile came to my face. I took off the cloth I was putting on and slid into the one he bought. It was like the dress was made for me. It looked beautiful and fitted me perfectly, accentuating my curves in all the right places. It has a beautiful deep V-neckline that showed a bit of cleavage but not too much, and the hemline hit just above the knee while the rest flowed to my legs. The fabric was soft and smooth, and it flowed gracefully as I moved. I couldn’t believe how good it looked on me. I felt like a million bucks. “You look stunning, Samantha.” Linda gushed. “Thank you.” I said, still staring at myself in the mirror. I couldn’t deny that I felt beautiful in this dress. Linda let my hair down in waves and adorned my legs with silver heels. The makeup on my face was moderate yet hot. I get confident. “Have you gone through the list of the invited guests?” I asked Linda and she hummed. “Yes, and you were right. Bianca is going to come. And since she is your ex-husband’s new chick…” She trailed off. “He'll come to the event with her.” I completed it. “Bingo!” Linda exclaimed and I smirked. I picked up the divorce papers from the bed. After much reasoning last night, I summoned the courage and signed the paper. I was entering a new phase of my life. Stinky gold diggers aren’t welcome. With a smile, I dropped it in my purse and smirked. “Let’s go settle some scores.” **** We arrived at the company and with Linda beside me, I walked in and looked around. The place was filled to the brim with different businessmen and women. Some were in a heated discussion, while others just made connections. It was obvious that most of them had no idea who I was. They knew my father had two daughters but because I hardly show my face, they knew Estella more, and I’m certain they are all expecting Estella to be the one. Jokes on them! I looked around again to see if I could get any sign of Aiden, but I couldn’t find him. I actually wanted to thank him for the dress. “Hi, sister, you stole the company from me. You have always been a thief!” Estella snapped and I turned to look at her. “Do not cause a scene here, Estella. I don’t have the time for all these now.” I warned and started walking away from her. Someone pulled me by the hand, making me stop. “Samantha?” I turned after hearing my name and saw Nathan. As expected, his hand was linked with that of Bianca. She scanned me from head to toes with her eyes and snorted. “I almost didn’t recognize you. What the heck are you doing here? Are you probably a servant to one of these influential men?” Nathan asked, mockery dripping from his tone. “She even borrowed a dress to fit in. Or did she steal it because there is no way she can afford this dress!” Bianca laughed out loud. “Are you done?” I asked the two of them, and they blinked at me. “Not everyone is like the two of you. This dress can buy you two, so watch your mouth.” I sassed back at them and made to leave, but Bianca held him. “I’d let go of that hand if I were you.” We turned to where the voice came from and saw Aiden, l approaching us. He was dressed in a black suit and was even hotter than yesterday. Could it be because he gelled his hair or something else? Bianca quickly let go of me and beamed at him. “We were just sorting some issues out, Mr. Callymore.” She explained, but he said nothing and held my hand as he took me from there. He stopped walking and I stopped too. He looked at me for a while. “You look stunning.” He tucked a strand of hair behind my ears. “Thanks. You look good too. Thanks for the dress. I love the color blue.” I smiled at him. “I know, that’s why I bought it.” He answered. I was about to say something when the sound of the mic stopped me. My eyes went to the stage. “Announcement! Before the event begins, I’d like to introduce you all to the new CEO of Salvador Enterprises. Welcome The Salvador Heiress, Samantha Belle Salvador!” He announced, and the hall thundered with applause. “That’s your cue.” Aiden smiled at him. I nodded with a sigh and, with my head up, made my way to the stage. The claps increased and cameras flashed in different directions as they tried to get a shot of me. I got to the stage and gave them a slight bow. “Hi, I am Samantha Salvador, Heiress to Salvador Enterprises and now the CEO!” I announced, and the claps intensified. My eyes went to Bianca and Nathan, whose eyes were wide in shock. That’s exactly what I want! I have risen and no longer the lady they looked down on. Now it’s time to make them pay!136.LOS ANGELESSamantha stood in the company hall that they were going to use for the company dinner and Aiden's birthday celebration, showing the decorators where to hang done posters and stuff. Aiden leaned on the doorframe and watched her. He had asked her to not stress herself and let Linda, Mia and the rest handle it, but Samantha didn't just want to sit and watch.Aiden sighed and shook his head. When he saw that she was about to pick up her box, he quickly rushed to her and took it from her. “Hey, what did I say about carrying heavy stuff?” he asked with an eye roll.Samantha chuckled. “It's not heavy at all. They are just ribbons, okay? Now give it to me.”Aiden turned away from her. “Not gonna happen. You're supposed to be resting. I have no idea why you're obsessed with making it perfect.” he pouted. The employees who were present and helping with the decorations couldn't believe that their boss was actually acting like a baby right now. This was something they didn't see
135.The man helped her to her feet and she tucked strands of hair behind her ears. “Th... Thanks for breaking my fall.” she said. The man smiled, showing cute dimples that almost got her lost in them. Darcel wondered why a total stranger was having this much effect on her. He had jet black hair that was neatly tousled, giving him a mysterious yet a bad boy look complemented by his angular jaw and cherry thin lips. “My pleasure,” he responded, his voice deep, causing Darcel's knee to wiggle. She thanked the Lord that she was wearing a coat.Darcel said nothing. The man smiled again and stretched out his hand for a handshake. “The name's Tristan,” he said and she took his hand with a polite smile. “Nice to finally meet you in person Darcel.”Darcel blinked. “Huh? You know me?” she asked.Tristan nodded. “Who doesn't? You're a very popular artist and you work with Jessi Arts, of course I'd know you.”Darcel's cheeks flushed. Who would have thought that she would have a fan who's so goo
134.“Oh, Darcel,” Russell rushed to her and embraced her, causing her eyes to widen in shock. Darcel didn't return the hug. She felt like she was dreaming. Her father hadn't hugged her with so much love in his eyes before. How did he even find her? Well, she was on television a few minutes ago.Russell pulled away from the hug when she didn't return it, his eyes turning glassy as he looked at her. She looked different and even more beautiful than the last time he saw her. He had searched for her and couldn't find her. The last time he saw her on television, she was in Los Angeles, but he couldn't get her exact location. His daughter has grown so much.Darcel looked at her father. The man looked stressed out. There were eyebags under his eyes, and he was aging so fast. She could swear he had lost a lot of weight too. What happened while she was away?“It's been a while, Dad.” she forced an awkward smile.“Indeed,” Russell replied. “I'm happy I finally got to see you again, Darcel. I'v
133.As they drove to the Callymore’s mansion, Samantha couldn't help but to suspect that something was fishy. This was the first time since Yasmeen and Reginald returned to the country that she was asking them to come have dinner with her. Could she be planning something sinister? What if the woman wanted to get rid of her baby?Aiden noticed the expression on her face and placed his hand on hers, causing her to turn to look at him. He smiled at her. “You shouldn't be worried, Sam. I know my mother can overreact sometimes but one thing I know is that she won't go as far as hurting you or the baby.”Samantha bit her lower lip and laughed awkwardly. “I never said she was going to hurt me or my baby.” she replied, trying to play it cool, but Aiden knew her better than anymore.“Sweetheart, you looked like a sheep about to be slaughtered. Even if I don't know how expressions like that work, I know what you're scared of that much, especially in your condition.” he placed his hand on her t
132.“Are you kidding me? Are you fucking kidding me?” Nathan yelled, throwing the things on the table to the ground.“Calm down. What do you expect? She is married, and it's only normal for a married woman to get pregnant!” Laylani snapped at Nathan, who was already feeling like going insane after seeing the news of Samantha's pregnancy. He couldn't believe it. He couldn't believe that she didn't get pregnant even after they were married for years, and now that she was married to Aiden, it wasn't even up to a year, and she was already pregnant? He couldn't stand for it. He won't stand for that bullshit!“Mum you don't understand!” he yelled. “Samantha is my wife. She belongs to me.”“It's time you get over it! Sink it into your fucking head that she is not a property you can just claim. You lost her, okay? Accept that and move on. Stop acting like you're going crazy when all these was your fault to begin with. You divorced her.”Nathan couldn't believe what his mother was saying. “Mu
131.“Are you for real?” Samantha asked Ashlyn, who smiled and nodded at her. “Of course I’m for real,” she said with a sigh. “I have been in hiding for so long and I know he’s been looking for me. Even when he didn’t see me, he joined you to fight for me, and that’s something no one would ever do for anyone. I’m not saying he did it because he is my brother. He did it because he loved me, and I couldn’t bring myself to keep hiding from him this way. So I have summoned up courage and I will definitely show myself to him now.”Samantha was over the moon. This was the best news she’s heard in months. She could already imagine the look on Aiden’s face when he sees Ashlyn. But then, she wanted to make it even more special and dramatic.Smanatha leaned forward with a smile. “Aiden’s birthday is in a week, Ashlyn,” she said and Ashlyn nodded with a smile. “And we planned on celebrating his birthday with the company’s joint dinner. Don’t you think you coming to that dinner would be the best
