CARLY

Carly tried her hardest not to think about her dad being home while she was at school. If she did, it would cause her mind to wander and she wouldn't pay attention to what was going on in class. Her dad was the best person she had in her life. He was a hard worker. She understood that work would require him to be gone for days, even weeks at a time. So when he was home, she made it her mission to spend as much time with him as possible. When the school day ended, she felt joy. After all, she wouldn't be going home to an empty house. She really hated that her car was down and out for the time being, and the fact that her boyfriend seemed too busy to offer her a ride home. So, she took the bus. The bus ride seemed so slow that Carly thought she was going to lose her mind. Eventually, she made it home, practically skipping up the few steps that led to the porch.
