CARLY Carly tried her hardest not to think about her dad being home while she was at school. If she did, it would cause her mind to wander and she wouldn't pay attention to what was going on in class. Her dad was the best person she had in her life. He was a hard worker. She understood that work would require him to be gone for days, even weeks at a time. So when he was home, she made it her mission to spend as much time with him as possible. When the school day ended, she felt joy. After all, she wouldn't be going home to an empty house. She really hated that her car was down and out for the time being, and the fact that her boyfriend seemed too busy to offer her a ride home. So, she took the bus. KAHLAN AND DAMON I found myself back in Damon Meir's office. His green eyes stared into my face, as I looked back at him. There was an awkward. I cleared my throat. "Sooo?" He straightened himself up in his giant chair, as if he were trying to figure out how to get the ball rolling today. As I waited, I thought about Damon apologizing. I mean, he did it so much to Tina, but I, the actual patient, wouldn't get a sorry. "So, lets start simple today," Damon finally started, "I know yesterday was hard, and I am going to take full responsibility for that. I do apologize." That's what I wanted, among a list of other things, like walking out the door and never coming back. "It's fine," I replied. "Its not like I was making it easier on you." He gave a soft smile. "So, we are agreeing to start over. Begin a friendship?" A friendship? Why did it feel like I would be making a commitment if I said yes? God, why did I have to overthink everything? THE TWINS Mya waited in the living room downstairs, flipping through channels. Nothing was on that would help pass the time. Amy said it wouldn't take her long to get ready, but she was nowhere to be found. Instead, she was up in her bedroom, and hadn't come out the last two hours. Mya was starting to question if her sister was still alive. She took a deep breath, as she got chills on her bare arms and legs. It was bad enough that she was wearing a dress, but she had to accompany it with heels. God, she was upset with Amy for getting her into this. And she was really upset with the wait. Her date would be here soon, and she'd be damned if she had to entertain Amy's company so she could finish getting ready. CARLY Carly lay in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She had finally stopped her pacing. She was able to shower and get comfortable in bed, but still, James was in the back of her mind. She hadn't heard from him. It was strange. Just maybe she'd be lucky and he wouldn't contact her. Even if he did, maybe this time she could get away with her lie. He could always tell when she was lying and she hated it. But, she could always tell when he was lying as well. Maybe things would turn out differently this time. If he didn't reach out tonight, it would give her time to be convincing about her father still being home. Her cell rang. She sat up quickly, looking at her screen. It was James. She was a little too hopeful. If she ignored his call, she'd be in more trouble, so she picked it up. "Hey sweetie," James said, "Is your dad home? I was thinking we could go to that party tonight." DAMON AND BROOKE Damon knocked on Brooke's door. He had been spending so much time working on his case, as well as getting settled back into the family home, that he felt like he wasn't spending enough time with his family. After all, he said that he wanted to get to know them again and it didn't really seem like he was doing that. He was just going to have to try harder. When she didn't answer, he just walked in. She stared at herself in the mirror. She wore a jean skirt that looked two sizes too small with a tight black laced, thin strapped tank top, along with knee-high boots. He stared. What the hell was this? Where is she going? He wondered what his younger siblings did when his mother was out at night, working hard. It looked as if he had just gotten his answer. "What are your plans for the night?" He asked his little sister "I'm going out with some friends," she answered. Damon waited for her to turn around and look at him while she spoke, but she didn't. JASON AND THE TWINS Jason felt like he was on top of the world. Usually, he'd be the one to look at the other guys in school with envy, but tonight, it was the complete opposite. He was the one being envied. Why wouldn't he be? After all, he had not only one date, but two, and it was the twins! Amy and Mya held on to him for the last hour, both of them connecting to him by the arm. He made his way from group to group, playing the role of a good host. Amy was good at becoming part of the conversation. Though she always seemed a bit shy, tonight she made an effort. He wished he could say the same about Mya. All she did was stare and listen. KAHLAN AND SANDINO I had been at the party for a few hours now. I didn't run away from the group of boys. Something about them felt good and safe. I was so into the guys, that I didn't even realize Ashley was roaming around Jason's house. When I first saw her, I couldn't believe how amazing she looked. For a moment, I felt like I turned into one of the guys. "Wow." I checked her out, not in the way a male did, but in the way of a female. With a little jealousy and thinking I would kill to look the way she did. I didn't consider myself to be very fit. I was just blessed to have a fast metabolism and never gained too much weight, while Ashley worked to have the figure she did and it paid off. She wore a baby pink dress that hugged her body. It fit just right. Her little boobs didn't look so little now. I could tell that she was wearing a push-up bra and the neck of the dress showed her chest off, making them much bigger than what they really were. "You look great!" She shouted at me,

ASHLEY AND JUSTIN Ashley didn't expect Sandino to rush up and take Kahlan away. Nor did she expect her to be gone for so long. She decided she didn't want to sit here and waste time.
