Chapter 15

KAELION POV

I expected an attack from Alpha Thane but this was happening sooner than I expected.

Judging from how frightened Jackson looked, it was quite obvious he was terrified.

“We cannot be certain my father is behind this, it could be anyone,” Seliora said.

“Well we are about to find out, aren't we?” I stated, grabbing her arms and dragging her out of the room.

“What are you doing?” She asked in a loud voice but I was too upset to even listen to her.

All I wanted was to know whether this attack was from her father or not. I had promised to keep my remaining pack members safe and was willing to do anything to keep the promise.

I just could not let them go through another attack. Besides what Kind of Alpha would I be if I could not keep my pack safe?

“You might want to think about whatever is going on in your head safe. If the attack is truly from my father, you have to let me see and talk to him,” Seliora said, but I only continued to ignore her.

“Gather all the men, I will be there in two minutes,” I demanded facing Jackson before finally letting go of Seliora’s arm.

Jackson instantly rushed out of your house while I paced around thinking of what to do.

“Look, let me help,” Seliora muttered, further annoying me.

I hated that she would not stop talking.

“So here is the plan,” I uttered, taking steps closer to her. “We will attack your father right back but use you as leverage, you are coming with us.”

I watched as she parted her lips but grabbed her by the arms again before she could talk.

“You are going to have to keep your mouth shut if you want to survive this!” I threatened.

Surprisingly, she kept quiet and only stared blankly while I dragged her out of the house.

Outside, Jackson had gathered all the men just as I asked. They all had their weapons and looked prepared as ever.

“This is our chance!” I said, in a loud tone.

There was no fear in my tone or voice.

“Whoever is out there is about to regret why they even thought to launch an attack on us,” I continued, shoving Seliora to the side. “We are taking them all down.”

“Yes!” The pack members screamed in unison, rushing towards the pack buses which I specifically got for times like this.

“Here,” Jackson said, throwing a sword and armour at me. “You have to be careful if you want to go up against Alpha Thane.”

“I will,” I responded, patting him on the shoulders.

I then turned back to look at Seliora who had been unusually quiet.

“Get me a chain,” I demanded.

In a few minutes, one of the men brought one and I instantly walked closer to Seliora.

“I can’t risk you taking off like the last time. I might not particularly like you but I need you,” I whispered to her while tying her up but she only remained quiet.

Her silence did something to me. Maybe it was because I was used to her blabbing and countering each time.

“You are unusually quiet,” I stated looking in her eyes while locking the chains.

“Just following your orders, Alpha,” She responded, staring back at me with so much disdain in her eyes.

I get that she hated me for what I did to her pack but it hurt a bit to see so much hatred for me in her eyes.

Realising I must be feeling this way because of the mate bond, I instantly pulled away from her.

“We have to go,” I muttered, turning around and walking towards the buses.

Seliora was the first to get into the back seat with Jackson while I got in the front seat with the pack driver.

The driver instantly drove out of the house while I clenched the blade in my hands.

The journey to the border was supposed to take thirty minutes but thanks to the trained pack driver, we arrived in fifteen minutes.

I made the driver stop the car right across the border so as not to alert the attackers.

“Go now,” I signalled to my men who were waiting for a sign from me.

They immediately rushed towards the border while I walked slowly with Seliora and Jackson behind me.

I could hear gunshots and the sounds of metal clashing against each other but something didn't feel right.

If this were Alpha Thane and his men, he would have taken the few men at the borders down in seconds.

I looked sideways at Seliora who seemed to know what I was thinking but continued to walk when noises suddenly stopped.

It was as if the attack had ended.

“I will go check out what’s happening, You wait here,” Jackson said, running off while I waited.

After some seconds, he rushed back with almost all of my men behind him.

“This was not Alpha Thane’s doing,” Jackson whispered to me. “It was the crescent pack, they must have heard about the attack on our pack and decided to come settle old scores.”

Crescent packs were a long-time rival pack. A few years ago, I defeated their Alpha in a sword fight which resulted in a big fight.

“Oh,” I muttered.

I had really hoped this was Alpha Thane.

“Are any of our men injured?” I inquired.

“No,” Jackson answered, walking away.

“This is clear proof that your accusations against my father must be wrong,” Seliora said. “You have so many enemies and rivals that you can't even remember. I am guessing one of them is behind this.”

“I might have a lot of enemies but if there is one thing I am sure about, it's the fact that your father was the one behind the attack on my pack. He killed Misha,” I stated.

“And if you are wrong?” Seliora asked.

“Then I will let you do whatever you want to me,” I replied, walking away from her.
