SELIORA POV
There was no way I could remain calm or try to reason with Kaelion. He had completely lost his mind. There was no way in hell I was going to help him take down my father. I reached for the door and tried to open it up but couldn't. “Let me out of here,” I demanded, staring back at him. “We are not done talking, Seliora. Come back and sit,” He replied. Seeing that I had no option, I reluctantly made my way towards the chair and sat down on it. “Rule number three, You listen to me whenever I talk. The next time you try to leave or break any of my rules, you will be punished,” He stated, glaring at me. “You already destroyed my pack and took everything I love from me, there is no greater punishment than that,” I responded, clenching my jaw. “I simply did the same thing your father did to me,” He said, casually. The room went quiet afterwards with both of us staring into each other's eyes with so much rage. I desperately wanted to ask how he assumed my father was behind this attack but decided to keep calm and answer his questions first. “Not only is my father a strong fighter, but he was trained by one of the strongest Alpha who ever lived, my grandfather,” I said. “You will lose if you go up against him. I have seen the way you fight, he will defeat you in seconds.” Kaelion didn't seem bothered to hear me say this but he looked so interested in what I was saying. “Tell me more,” He demanded. “There is nothing to tell, you can't win a fight against him,” I stated. “Nothing is impossible, Seliora. Anyone can be taken down,” He muttered, focusing his concentration back to the file he had earlier shoved aside. “If my father ravaged my pack like you claimed, isn't it enough punishment that you wiped out his entire pack in return and kidnapped his only surviving daughter. Why are you still so fixated on killing him?” I asked, this time not out of anger but out of sheer curiosity. “The rules, Seliora,” He said, his eyes still fixed on the files. “This involves my father and my whole pack, I deserve to know why you are doing this,” I muttered. “I had no intentions of taking you captive, all I wanted was your father,” He explained. “You will get out of here as soon as I can take him down but for now I have to know why he did this to me and also his accomplices.” I could see how serious he looked while speaking. No one has been able to challenge my father in so long but here he was, finding a way to kill him right after taking the things he loved the most from him. He was either so brave or extremely stupid. “What are you looking at?” I asked, breaking the silence after some minutes of silence. “Information on your father,” He replied. “He is really strong I must confess, I am guessing you got all your attitudes and strength from him.” My father and I didn't have a lot in common except that we were both fearless. Growing up, we spent a lot of time together but after my sister died, everything changed. My father became a shadow of himself. He would drink so much almost every night while my mother on the other hand would lock herself in the room all day and cry. “The clothes I was given do not interest me. They are not my style,” I said, trying to distract myself from thinking about the past. “You are not here for a fashion parade,” He answered. “I have to wear something I am comfortable in if you want my help in taking my father down,” I said, knowing that it would interest him. “I will ask the pack maids to get you some more clothes,” He stated, in a soft tone. This was the first time I was seeing him so relaxed and calm. I found it hard to believe he had a side like this. “The files won’t help,” I said in an attempt to get his attention. “You need me if you want to have a chance against him.” “I am all ears then,” He stated, closing the files. “Firstly you have to tell me exactly what happened, I deserve to know why my pack was taken out,” I demanded. “Fine,” He muttered. “My beta and I were out for a meeting when we received a call that the pack was under attack. I instantly rushed back home but it was too late, we could not save most of them.” I noticed his hands trembled as he talked no matter how hard he tried to hide it. This confirmed to me that his pack was really attacked and ravaged but there was still one question on my mind. How did he conclude that the attack was my father’s doing? He had no connection to him and I could not think of a reason Father would want his whole pack dead. It was all just not adding up. “How did you…?” I said but before I could finish, the door to the office swung open. “We have a problem, Kaelion,” A familiar face whom I had seen around the house once or twice stated. He didn't seem to notice me at first but after he did, he went quiet. “What is it?” Kaelion whose face had instantly reddened demanded, rushing towards him. “We are under attack, I just got a call now from one of our men at the border,” The man replied quietly. “Father,” I whispered to myself. He must have found out I was here. I instantly stood up and tried to leave before Kaelion could notice but he held me just before I could walk out. “It's time we both have a chat with your father,” He said with a sly smile.SELIORA POVI peeped from under the table to see who it was.It was Kaelion. He must have forgotten something and came to pick it up.I was frightened but managed to keep my cool, I could not let him find me here.“I was informed by the guards that you let Seliora go,” A voice whom I assumed to be Jackson’s said.He was with him.“Yes,” Kaelion responded to him just as he was about to turn towards where I was hiding.Seizing this opportunity, I quietly crawled away and tiptoed towards the shelf.“According to the doctor, she needed to get some rest. I could not just leave her in the cell for her condition to worsen,” Kaelion replied to Jackson while I peeped from where I was.“This is going to upset Claire. What if Seliora loses her cool and attacks her again?” Jackson stated, his voice filled with concern.“I have it all under control, besides it won’t be long till I get rid of Seliora,” Kaelion stated, taking more steps towards the table. He then opened one of the drawers and picked
SELIORA POVI had no regrets about what had earlier happened with Claire. I only saw an opportunity and decided to use it to my advantage.Claire’s action took me a bit by surprise though, she looked so innocent but now I knew exactly who she was.Her coming to see me was all a trick to provoke me which I fell for.“I know you don't trust me, I don't trust you either but it's really simple. I would have killed her way before you even intervened if I wanted to,” I said, looking at Kaelion. He said nothing afterwards and only walked away quietly while I wondered why he came to the cell in the place.“It probably makes him so happy to see me here,” I muttered, lying down on the blanket one of the guards had earlier given to me.This was my second night being taken captive under Kaelion’s pack and I still have not been able to make any significant progress. All my plans seemed to have either failed or backfired.“Fuck!” I stated angrily, standing up.Lying down was not helping, it only m
KAELION POVSeeing the proud look Seliora had on her face after almost murdering one of the closest people I had left made me fear I might have gone too soft on her.I needed to remind her that she was being taken captive here.“Go into your room and call the pack doctor. I will see you in a minute,” I stated, facing Claire. She nodded her head and walked away quietly while I wondered what to do with Seliora.“You would have killed her if I were not here to stop you,” I yelled, trying so hard to hold back my anger. If Seliora had hurt her, I would not have been able to forgive myself. “You disobey my rules every chance you get. You are going to get punished this time,” I growled.“Really,” Seliora simply responded. It seemed like she had something to say but I didn't want to hear whatever it was she had to say.“I was protecting myself from her, she attacked me!” She stated.I was sure there was no way Claire was lying to me, Seliora had to be the one lying.“Did you ask her for a wa
SELIORA POV“Where am I?” I mumbled, slowly opening my eyes. The last thing I remembered was collapsing in front of Kaelion while trying to talk to him. I managed to open my eyes completely and tried to sit up but I was too weak. I scanned the room with my eyes slowly and from what I could tell, I was in a hospital.“You are fine, you were brought here to the pack clinic by the Alpha,” I heard a voice say.“Kaelion,” I muttered in disbelief. He was the last person I imagined would bring me here.“Yes,” The pack doctor replied, walking towards me with a tray of food of water. “You have to eat, you are suffering from extreme exhaustion and starvation.”“How long was I out for?” I asked, taking the tray from him.“About six hours,” The doctor responded.“Wow,” I mumbled.“Eat up and rest, I will be back in three hours to check up on you,” The doctor said, walking away.I slowly opened up the plate which contained a bowl of food, some vegetables, and steak. “Smells good,” I whispered, t
KAELION POVThis didn't look like a trick or an attempt to fool me but if it was, she must be pretty good at acting.Without a second's thought, I picked her up and hurried towards the quarter where the pack doctor lives with Jackson right behind me.Whatever it was, I could not let her die. She was only useful to me alive.“Get her on the table,” The pack doctor who seemed to have sensed us coming instructed.I gently placed her down while watching the doctor examine her. For some reason, I hated to see her this way.It reminded me of how helpless I felt seeing Misha’s dead body.“What is wrong with her?” I inquired, running out of patience.“She is suffering from starvation and extreme exhaustion, Alpha. It seemed like she had not slept or eaten for a long amount of time,” The doctor explained.I knew Seliora was relentless and stubborn but I never thought she would succumb to starving herself. I felt sorry for chaining her and dragging her to the border but there was no way I could
SELIORA POVThis was enough to prove that Kaelion might have been wrong about everything. He was so quick to assume this attack was from my father.Maybe he acted under annoyance and should have probably investigated the attack or maybe his mate’s death made him too delusional to even think things through.Either way, I loved his response and looked forward to making him suffer till he took his last breath. I had also hoped this was Father but I was not disappointed. I was sure he was doing everything he could to get me out of here. This was going to be a bit hard for him considering Kaelion wiped out all of our pack members and father’s men.“We have to go,” The familiar man who earlier came into the office to break the news of the attack to Kaelion announced standing right next to me.“You are his Beta right,” I muttered, looking sideways at him. “What is your name?.“Jackson,” He answered, coldly.“I am guessing Kaelion is also your friend,” I uttered. “What do you want?” Jackson
