MasukJADE'S POV:
My heart was beating erratically as I stood before him. I couldn't see his face because of the veil. I was able to see only his shoes.
“Why is my wife wearing such a gown? Couldn't you prepare her properly?”. His voice was dominating and dangerous.
My father laid down at once on his feet and begged him not to get mad.
“This unfilial child of mine, burnt the wedding dress we got for her. And there was no way we could get another one in a short period of time”. My father pleaded on the Alpha's feet.
I chuckled at my father's words. Can my life get any better? I am not surprised that he accused me of tearing the wedding dress.
I didn't have the courage to defend myself because I don't know if the demon Alpha will believe me or not.
“Did you burn your wedding gown?”. He asked with a hoarse voice.
“I…I…I…yes, I did. Please forgive me, I didn't mean to”. I said with tears in my eyes.
“Get her inside and prepare her”. I couldn't see the person he was talking about but I was pulled by my arms and taken back upstairs.
“Miss, let's help you with the gown”. The two girls that took me upstairs said with a polite tone which sounds strange to my ears because I am more conversant with the abusive words.
“Alright, please go ahead but don't touch my veil. It's a taboo in my culture for my husband to see me before marriage”. I said to the two girls who helped me wear the gown.
Thank goodness that they didn't insist on removing the veil. Because I have a plan in mind.
I will run away before the wedding and since the demon Alpha hasn't seen my face before, he would go after Selene instead.
I was prepared and taken down the stairs again.
“Why is your face covered?”. He asked and I almost had a heart attack.
My hands and feet started shaking but I was lucky that the gown covered it.
“I…I…My lord, it's taboo for a bride's face to be seen before marriage”. I stuttered as I spoke.
“Let's go”. He held my hand but I jerked it off out of fear.
“I… I… am sorry, I didn't mean to…”.
“Do I look that scary to you? He whispered in my ears and my heart skipped a bit. I shook my head slowly at him and he carried me this time in his arms.
I wasn't expecting him to carry me. I quickly covered my face very well, to avoid him seeing me.
Selene has already hidden herself a long time ago to avoid the Alpha from seeing her. If I ever have the opportunity, I will take my revenge on each and every one of them that treated me like trash.
When we got to court, I took an excuse to use the restroom…
“You better use the restroom and come back immediately, don't keep the Alpha waiting”. I nodded without a word and I had to carry the veil up a little so that I would see where I was walking.
I got to the bathroom and removed the veil entirely. I began to look for an escape.
I saw the window and it was just what I needed to escape. I opened it and was about to climb over but just then, I heard a knock on the door.
Who could that possibly be? I didn't say a word until the person knocked again.
“Why are you wasting time there? I don't have time to waste”. Just hearing his voice made my heart skip, what should I do now?
I decided to respond to him to avoid him breaking the door and getting in.
“I am almost done”. I stuttered before picking up my veil to wear.
I opened the toilet door and saw his feet. He held me by my hand and took me to where we would be registered as husband and wife.
So many thoughts ran through my head as I signed the papers that would make me his wife.
What will he do to me if he finds out that I am a substitute bride? I was so uncomfortable with his presence.
“We are finally married”. His voice jolted me back to reality.
I didn't say a word to him because I didn't know how to respond to him.
“My lord, it's an honor to be your father in law. I am handing my precious daughter to you. Do with her whatever you wish and if she gives you any headache, then go ahead and punish her the way you deem fit”.
I am really convinced that this man is not my father. Because no father would hate his own daughter this much.
I have been living a life filled with fear and pain. At some point, I had to even stop going to school, all because of their hatred towards me.
The demon lord didn't say a word to my father, instead he held my hand and walked away.
He settled me in the car and just when I wanted to take a deep breath to calm my anxious nerves, he tried to remove the veil.
“Isn't it time for the veil to be removed now?”. He asked. I sensed irritation in his tone.
“Pardon me my lord, I am supposed to reveal my face to you on the matrimonial bed”.
After I said that, he didn't say anymore words to me. I didn't know if he was angry about my words, every passing minute was like a ticking time bomb.
“We are here”. He said to me almost an hour later.
I lifted my veil a little so that I could see where I was walking to. He didn't hold my hand this time, he allowed me to walk by myself.
He must have been angry about what I said to him earlier.
Though I couldn't really see through the veil, the environment was huge and beautiful.
I have never seen a mansion as beautiful as this in my entire life. I could also see a beautiful garden, filled with fresh flowers.
“Take her to her room and prepare her”. He said to the two maids who quickly took me upstairs.
“Madam, please we would like to prepare you for our master”. One of the maids said to me as we got into the spacious well decorated room.
I removed my veil before them and they gasped. I knew the reason why they exclaimed like that, it's because those girls ruined my face with makeup.
“I don't want my face to be wiped off”. I said to them and the two of them smiled.
“You look so pretty but we would need to wipe off your beautiful makeup and give you a warm bath, our master has asked us to prepare you”. One of the girls said and I was puzzled at her words.
“What do you mean by what you just said? Is the makeup not bad?”. I asked her curiously.
“No, Madam, it looks so pretty on you. Here, have a look”. One of the maids gave me a mirror to see the makeup.
I was quite surprised at my beauty. I never put on makeup. My mother bought some makeup for me. So this was my first time applying makeup on my face.
But the girls said they would ruin my face. Then why didn't they ruin it with the makeup? Maybe they were just lying to me.
“What are your names, please?” I asked and they were happy to introduce themselves to me.
“I am Ella, and she is Mary”. Ella said with a smile.
“Alright, I am Jade”. I said to both of them and they nodded with a smile.
“Madam, please we need to prepare you immediately for our master”.
Is the demon lord really going to have sex with me? All my dreams have been shattered if that's so.
My dream is to marry a man who loves me and who will be able to take me away from my family's torment.
I had a hot bath, it felt weird on my body because I've never been opportuned to bathe in warm water. It's always cold water because Selene broke the heater in my bathroom and ever since then, my parents haven't fixed it.
I was made to sit on the well decorated bed which was filled with red roses.
Ella and Mary left the room, the light in the room was dim. I sat on the bed nervously waiting for the demon lord to arrive.
Each passing moment was like a thorn in my heart. My eyes caught an envelope which was placed on the table.
I hesitated before opening the envelope. I read through it.
“You don't need to stay awake and wait for me. I don't have any intention of having a sexual relationship with you. Read through the rules below”
It was a letter written by the demon lord. I read the rules he stated below.
“Don't meddle in my personal affairs, without my permission”.
“There is a room you are forbidden to enter, your maids would show you”.
I read through other rules and I didn't know if I should cry or laugh. I am happy that he isn't interested in me, but he made me really curious by the room he has forbidden me not to enter.
Could that room be where he slaughters werewolves in cold blood?
JADE’S POVA month had passed since the war ended. And since my Dad died. The scars of battle were slowly healing, both on the land and in our hearts. The villa was quieter now and also peaceful. But today wasn’t about sorrow.Today was about grand peace.I stood by the garden balcony, looking at the sky painted with soft gold and pink. The flowers were finally blooming again. Kieran’s arms wrapped gently around me from behind.“Still thinking about him?” he asked softly.I nodded. “I miss Father every day.”Kieran kissed the side of my neck. “He’s watching us, Jade. I can feel it.”Before I could reply, I heard footsteps and laughter coming from the front gate. Selene and Gina had arrived with their parents. She told me yesterday that she would be coming with them.Kieran smiled faintly. “Looks like we have visitors.”We walked to meet them. Selene’s mother was already in tears before she even reached me.“Jade,” she said softly, holding her hands together, “we came to ask for your
KIERAN’S POVMy claws dug into the ground as I faced Ariel. Every breath I took came out as a growl. She stood before me, her eyes glowing like cold fire, her black wings spread wide. “You’ve lost everything, Kieran,” she sneered. “Even your beloved Jade.”At her words, a deep rage tore through my chest. My wolf roared, and lightning cracked across the sky.“I’ll make you pay for everything you’ve done!” I shouted, my voice trembling with fury.Ariel raised her hand and hurled a storm of black energy at me. I blocked it with my wings, but the force sent me crashing through the ruined pillars. The ground shook when I landed. She laughed. “You’re strong, but you fight with your heart. That’s why you’ll always lose.”I stood again, my body burning with power. “No, Ariel. You’re wrong.” I glared at her, my eyes glowing gold. “Love makes me stronger.”Before she could reply, I lunged forward. My claws slashed through her shield, and she staggered backward. She screamed, dark fire spilling
METATRON'S POV:The battlefield had fallen into chaos, steel clashing, beasts roaring, and lightning splitting the blood-red sky. But all of it faded from my mind the moment I saw my daughter's lifeless body on the ground. She lay motionless on the ground, her body covered in blood, her face pale and serene as if she were only sleeping. For a moment, I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe. My knees hit the ground before I realized I’d fallen. “No…” My voice cracked like thunder. “No, no, no!”I gathered her lifeless body in my arms. Her hair slipped through my fingers, soft and cold. I pressed my forehead against hers, trying to feel her soul but there was nothing.“Jade,” I whispered, shaking her gently. “Wake up, my child… please.”But silence answered me.All around me, the battle still raged. Kieran’s roar shook the heavens, his three beasts, had merged into one monstrous form. His crimson eyes burned with fury as he faced Ariel.“Jade!” Lotus’s voice broke beside me. She stumbled to
JADES’S POVThe storm came without mercy.Thunder tore through the heavens, shaking the villa’s crystal walls until chandeliers crashed to the floor. One moment, laughter filled the air; the next, screams echoed as shadows slithered in from the windows like living smoke. She and Melanie hovered above the courtyard, their robes fluttering like torn banners, eyes glowing red. Lightning danced behind them, carving their silhouettes into the night.Fear spread through the crowd like wildfire. The guests, the werewolves and the nobles scattered in panic. The scent of burning magic filled the air.I turned to Kieran. “Get Manuel out of here!”He nodded sharply and barked orders. “Elric, take the boy! Protect him with your life!”As Elric rushed Manuel toward the west wing, Ariel landed gracefully, her smile wicked.Beside her, Melanie mirrored the expression, eyes gleaming with the thrill of destruction.“Well,” Ariel said, sitting on a fallen throne like a queen in ruins, “aren’t you going
LOTUS POV:During the reunion, I noticed the sadness in Jade's face when Kieran mentioned her son, Manuel. I don't want my sister to be sad anymore, I made up my mind to give her what she wanted the most and that's to see her son normal again. It had been years, centuries even, but seeing Jade and Mabel again filled my heart with a joy I never thought I’d feel again. My sisters. My blood. When everyone went back inside, I wanted to talk to Jade, so she took me to the garden, the grass brushed against our feet as we walked.“You’re quiet,” I said softly.Jade forced a smile. “I’m just… thinking.”I tilted my head. “About Manuel, right?”She looked at me, startled. “You noticed?”I chuckled lightly. “You forget, sister. I can feel emotions as easily as you breathe.”Jade sighed, running her fingers through her hair. “He’s in so much pain, Lotus. I see him, and I just…” her voice broke. “I wish I could fix everything.”I touched her arm gently. “Don’t worry, Jade. By tomorrow morning, y
SELENE'S POV The sun was warm on my skin as Gina and I strolled through the park. Her laughter echoed through the air, light and pure, chasing away the shadows of my thoughts. For once, everything felt peaceful. Just me and my daughter, living like normal people.“Mommy, push me higher!” Gina called from the swing, her small hands gripping the chains.I smiled. “Hold tight, sweetheart.” I gave the swing a gentle push, watching her hair dance in the wind. Her giggles filled my heart with warmth I hadn’t felt in years. That’s when I saw a familiar figure.Lucian He was standing by the fence, hands in his pockets, wearing that calm smile that always managed to make my chest tighten.“Lucian?” I called, surprised. He looked up and smiled wider. “Hey, Selene. I was just passing by and saw you two. Didn’t expect to find you here.”I rolled my eyes playfully. “You always seem to ‘just pass by’ wherever I am.”He chuckled, walking closer. “Maybe it’s fate.”I ignored the heat that rose to
