JADE'S POV:

When I woke up from the coma, I was weak. I expected to see Kieran by my side but there was no one in the room.

My throat was dry and I needed water. I saw a glass of water beside the bed but my hands couldn't get to it.

I stretched my hand to get it but unfortunately my hand knocked it off the table and the glass broke.

I heard a knock on the door and without me answering the knocker rushed in.

A guard came in, he must have heard the sound of the glass.

“Miss Jade, please what can I help you with?”. He asked with his head lowered.

“I need water”. I responded weakly.

He poured water for me in another glass and assisted me to drink it.

I drank until I was satisfied.

“Where is Kieran?”. I asked him when my voice was better.

“He said he was going to look for a solution. I don't know what solution he talked about”. The guard responded

I was happy that Kieran didn't consider what the witch said to him. He wanted to find a way out instead.

The door was opened and two maids w

JADE'S POV:I ran down the corridor, my heart breaking with every step. Kieran’s voice echoed behind me.“Jade! Wait!”I didn’t stop. Tears blurred my eyes. How could he? After everything?Suddenly, a hand caught mine.“Ah!” I gasped, trying to scream. But in a flash, the world spun. The villa walls disappeared. Darkness surrounded me.When I blinked, we stood in a quiet grove.A tall figure appeared in my view, this guy should be Hardin.Kieran once told me about him when we were alone.Hardin’s golden eyes stared into mine. His hand still clutched my wrist. His other hand covered my mouth.“Shh,” he whispered. “Don’t scream. If I hadn’t taken you, Kieran would’ve caught you.”I pushed his hand away, gasping for air. “What are you doing? Why did you take me?”Hardin smirked. “Saving you from more pain.”Before I could reply, another figure appeared from the shadows.“Jade,” Alvina’s voice called.I froze. “Alvina…?”She stepped forward, her face calm, but her eyes sharp. “I told you,

KIERAN’S POVI was in my study with the wizard and the ancient dragon, Metatron. Scrolls lay open on the table, and we were deep in discussion about the latest ritual to protect Jade.Suddenly, a knock came on the door.“My Lord,” a guard’s voice called.“What is it?” I asked sharply. The guard stepped inside, bowing low. “Forgive me, my Lord. Lady Pearl has arrived. And she wants to see you.”I froze. Pearl? The wizard looked at me, brows raised. Metatron frowned. My jaw tightened. “Pearl?” I repeated.“Yes, my Lord. She waits in the living room.”My fists clenched on the table. “And who gave her permission to enter my villa?”The guard swallowed hard. “I… I thought—”“You thought?” I hissed. My power flared, shadows twisting at my feet. “You let anyone walk into my home without my command? You dare?”The guard dropped to his knees, trembling.I drew a sharp breath and forced myself to calm. “Enough. I’ll deal with you later. For now, take me to her.”He nodded quickly and hurried ou

ALVINA'S POV:I've made a grave mistake. What should I do now?Just then, I opened my eyes, and realized that I was still at Kieran's door. I was only imagining everything that had happened.I let out a shaky breath. “If I go in now… he’ll start suspecting me. He must not know I serve Melanie. I can’t be careless.”Slowly, I turned to leave. “Better to plan… better to make Jade hate him on her own.”A voice spoke behind me, calm but deep. “Wise choice.”I jumped, spinning around. “Who’s there?”Out of the shadows, Hardin stepped forward, smirking. His golden eyes glinted.Hardin wasn't caught by Melanie. He was lucky not to experience what we went through in Melanie’s dungeon. He was angry at me for calling him childish. He has been free all these while but he didn't even look for us.“Relax,” he said. “It’s only me.”My chest tightened. “Hardin… you startled me.”I had to behave like everything is normal. I have been compelled to finish this mission and I will do everything possible

ALVINA'S POV:I paced the dark hallway until the air around me shifted. A cold wind blew, and then she appeared, Melanie. Her eyes burned red, her smile sharp.I bowed quickly. “Lady Melanie… I came to report.”“Report?” she snapped. “Go on.”I hesitated. “It’s Jade. She has been behaving strangely. She sneaks around, whispers to herself. I think she is hiding something from me.”Melanie’s face twisted with rage. “And you only tell me now? Foolish girl!”I flinched. “Forgive me, my lady. I was trying—”“Trying?” Melanie cut me off, her voice like fire. “I gave you one task: keep Jade under control. Yet she walks freely, and you know nothing. Do you want my plan to fail?”“No!” I cried. “Never!”Melanie stepped closer. “Listen well. If Jade regains her memories… if she slips from my grasp… It is your fault. And if my plan fails, you will suffer in ways you cannot imagine.”Her words made my heart freeze. I bowed lower, shaking. “I understand. I won’t fail again.”“You’d better not,” sh

JADE'S POV:I feel she would lead me to the right part.“Alvina, can we talk later? I want to go to my room and rest". I said to Alvina who nodded at me with a smile.“Where are your maids?". Alvina asked as I stood up.“I gave them some days off". I answered.“That's so kind of you. Alright go and have some rest but remember my words". She said and I nodded.I went inside my room and then locked the door as I was instructed to do by the person that spoke through my head.I sat on the make-up chair, facing the mirror and then she appeared inside the mirror. Lotus looked exactly like me.“You look just like me". I said to her,“Yeah, that's because we are identical twins". She replied."So what happened to you?”. I asked her. Her smile faded. “I no longer exist. I died during the war caused by Melanie’s mother. After she released the poison that was able to kill the dragons, our world became chaotic. So many dragons lost their lives. But that's a story for another day.”“I have an unf

JADE'S POV:That night, I lay on the bed, my eyes heavy but my mind restless. Alvina turned on her side to face me. Her voice was soft.“Jade,” she whispered, “how do you manage to stay with a man as horrible as my brother?”I blinked at her, confused. “Horrible? The demon lord? So you also think that he is dangerous? Though I am afraid of him, I think he is not that bad. He saved me from my cruel family”Her lips curved into a bitter smile. “Saved you? Or trapped you? You don’t know him like I do.”I frowned. “But… you’re his sister. I thought you were close.”Alvina shook her head slowly. “I only pretend. The truth? I came back not for him, but for you. To save you from him.”My heart thudded. “Save me? From what?”She leaned closer, her voice dropping lower. “From his lies. He hides so much from you. If you stay, you’ll only suffer.”I swallowed hard. “But… he says he loves me. He’s been kind to me.”Alvina grabbed my hand. “Kindness can be a mask. Please, Jade. Trust me. Escape hi
