KELLY'S POV

I stepped onto campus, the morning chill swept across my skin, and I felt like an outsider among the sea of students. Luxury cars gleamed in the parking lot, making it hard to distinguish the lecturers' vehicles from the students'. I walked alone, a stark contrast to the crowd around me.

The weight of what lay ahead suffocated me with every step.

Jimmy, that pretty face rich boy with a voice that belied his cruel nature, haunted my thoughts. The echoes of his harsh words still lingered – "Scram!" – and the prospect of facing him again, in thesame class, alongside that little slut of his, Debbie, sent shivers down my spine.

Just two days into the semester, and the school I'd fought so hard to attend had transformed into a waking nightmare. Every step felt like a reluctant march toward disaster.

The truth knocked me like a slap: Jimmy was a Montego, the owners of the business empire that dominated the industry. My adopted mother used to work there as a mere cleaner, she spoke of how great the company was.

I'd grown up idolizing the Montego's, dreaming of joining their ranks one day.

But fate had a cruel sense of humor – now, I was the target of Jimmy's disdain, a constant reminder that my dreams were going to be just dreams, I was never going to get a chance. Not at the company, and I doubted I'd ever complete the semester to begin with.

My bestfriend, Anna, had gone over to her boyfriend's house. The conversation with her had been brief, and I couldn't bring myself to burden her with the drama unfolding at school when Jake was waiting at the background.

Anyway. Now, I was alone, left to handle the weight of my own problems. I was stuck with my thoughts, strolling lazily through the campus.

Just as I was lost in my reverie, a sleek car pulled up abruptly beside me, the tires screeching to a halt mere inches from my legs. I startled, my heart racing as I leapt back, my eyes snapping to the car's tinted windows. The driver's side window rolled down, revealing non other than that slut.

Oh fuck this bitch! Debbie.

Debbie's mocking gaze met mine, her lips curling into a scornful smile. She laughed, the sound dripping with malice, as she took in my panicked expression.

The two girls riding inside with her, joined in, their giggles echoing through the air as they stared at me with amused contempt.

"Hey, Bitch! Remember me?" She sneered, revenge edged in her voice.

I clutched my chest, my mind reeling in shock. Debbie had almost run me over, and now she was laughing about it? The girl was not only a shameless slut, she was also certifiably insane.

"Can you believe it girls, this was the piece of trash that ruined my moment with Jim yesterday. Gush I hate this girl." She announced, her friends hurled disdainful comments at me.

I bit my tongue, choosing to stay silent even as their words sliced through the air like daggers. I stood frozen, my anger and fear warring for dominance, but I refused to give them the satisfaction of a reaction.

"Take this as a little warning, you mousy dowdy!" She spat and drove off.

I stood there, my legs trembling slightly as I gathered the courage to continue walking to class. The adrenaline rush from the close call still lingered, and I felt a knot in my stomach. Taking a deep breath, I began to move forward, my eyes scanning the surroundings as I approached the class building.

And that's when I saw him – Jimmy, standing with three other guys, chatting and laughing. Fear resurfaced, my heart skipping a beat as our eyes met, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze.

Jimmy's gaze pierced through me like ice, sending a shiver down my spine. Yet, even as fear gripped me, I couldn't help but notice how devastatingly handsome he looked.

His chiseled features were accentuated by the fitted white shirt that hugged his broad shoulders, and his dark jeans fit him perfectly. His hair was styled to perfection, with just the right amount of messiness, framing his sharp jawline and full lips.

The contrast between his captivating appearance and the cold glint in his eyes was unnerving, making my heart race even faster.

I stood frozen, torn between retreating or pushing forward. My legs felt like lead, heavy with dread, as I forced myself to take one step, then another. The hallway fell silent, and I could feel their eyes boring into me. I kept my gaze fixed on the floor, didn't dared to look up.

My heart raced wildly as I stumbled past them, my entire body screaming to escape the suffocating tension, to disappear if I could.

Just as I thought I'd escaped the tension, Jimmy's deep voice boomed behind me, "Hey!"

The sound was like a jolt of electricity, and I nearly lost my footing. My heart racing, I froze, my body stiffening in fear.

"Turn the fuck around," he commanded, his tone firm and unyielding. I felt a chill run down my spine as I slowly turned to face him, my eyes hesitantly meeting his.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, his tone laced with an unsettling intensity.

Gush! not again.

"Oh, I'm here to breathe oxygen and take up space, obviously." I thought to myself.

But aloud, I managed a weak "To study" trying to keep my voice steady. His eyes narrowed, and he repeated the question, "I asked you, what the fuck are you doing here!?" His anger simmered just below the surface.

His friends snickered, their gazes raking over me with mockery. One of them raised an eyebrow and whispered to Jimmy, "You know her?" with a chuckle, "She looks like the cleaning lady." Their laughter stung, but I stood frozen, unsure how to respond.

Jimmy's gaze cut through his friends' mockery, his eyes fixed on me with a glare. "Didn't I warn you to not show your face on this campus again?" he growled, his voice low and menacing.

I felt a surge to laugh at his audacity, but I bit back my retort, instead meeting his gaze with a cautious stare.

His friends exchanged confused glances, one of them whispering, "Dude, why's the janitor getting under your skin?"

Janitor? Oh! fuck all of them!

I took a deep breath and spoke up, trying to assert myself, "I'm a student, not a worker." But my words came out barely above a whisper, lacking the boldness I'd hoped for.

And then, as if sent from heaven, a professor approached. I seized the chance to slip away, relief washing over me.

But Jimmy's voice boomed out, "Don't think you can escape me," his words echoed through the hallway, making it clear this wasn't over yet.

I quickened my pace, trying to put some distance between us, but his words hung in the air like a challenge.

Urgh! Why me!

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 72: The wedding Night

KELVIN'S POV The night drew on, and the party continued at the mansion. The atmosphere was thick with music and people sipping on their drinks in every corner. I sat with my dad, surrounded by a sea of suits, all of whom had come to congratulate me on my marriage and, more importantly, my entry into the business world. My dad, beaming with pride, raised his glass. "To my son, Kelvin, and his beautiful bride, Kelly. May your union bring us all prosperity and success. And, of course, I'm proud to say that Kelvin has finally gotten his degree and is ready to join the business world properly." The businessmen around us chuckled and echoed the sentiment, offering their congratulations. I smiled, shaking hands and thanking them, but my mind was elsewhere. Where was she, my wife? She hadn't been anywhere insight since we left the church. I excused myself, standing up. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go find Kelly," I said, excusing myself from the group. As I made my way thr

KELLY'S POV Two months had passed since my father's release from prison, and everything had fallen into place. He'd been given back his company and house, and now I lived knowing I had a family. Anna had moved in with Beck's family after our graduation, and I'd moved in with Kelvin to his penthouse. Jimmy and I were in good terms now, and he'd had to accept that I was dating Kelvin. Interestingly, Jimmy had fallen for Debbie, who'd been there for him since his mother's imprisonment. Today, all the girls and I were at a beauty salon, getting pampered and prepped for the big day – my wedding. As the stylists did their magic, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the journey that had brought me to this moment. I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle and marry the love of my life. The thought of spending the rest of my life with Kelvin filled me with joy and happiness. "When are you and Dante tying the knot?" Debbie joked, winking at Ashley. Ashley laughed, a secretive sm

JIMMY'S POV I walked into the prison, my heart heavy with emotions. It had been two days since everything went down, and I was still trying to process it all.I was led to the visiting room, and my mom was already there, waiting for me. She smiled, her eyes warm. "Jimmy, my son," she said, her voice soft. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, but it was no use. The anger, the hurt, the betrayal - it all came flooding back. The faint smile on her face was like a punch to the gut. How could she be smiling? Didn't she know what she had done? I sat down, trying to keep my emotions in check, but it was like trying to hold back a tidal wave. "Why, Mom?" I asked, my voice shaking with rage and hurt. "Why did you do it?"My mom's expression didn't change, her eyes still shining with a cold, calculating glare. "I did it for you, Jimmy. I wanted to give you the best life possible."The words were like a slap in the face. "The best life? You stole from Dad, from Kelvin's mom.

" I head to the room for a quick shower. The bruises on my face were starting to sting, and I wanted to look presentable for what was to come. I changed into a fresh suit then made my way to the party, receiving condolences from guests along the way. I nodded and smiled, but my mind was elsewhere. I took a seat, my eyes scanned the room, finally landing on Veronica. She was smiling and laughing with the guest, oblivious to the storm that was about to hit her. I stood up, my eyes locked on her. My father, seated beside me, placed a hand on my arm, his eyes questioning what I was about to do. I gave him a reassuring nod. The music stopped, and I stepped forward, my voice ringing out across the room. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for gathering here tonight to pay your respects to my mother. But I think it

The atmosphere was already electric, with sleek cars and rich-looking people milling about. Anna smiled and took my arm, leading me inside. "Hey, Kelvin, we Just arrived at the mansion. Where are you?" I said, trying to keep my voice light. Anna placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Kelly, calm down. "How are you, Jimmy?" she asked, her voice concerned.I forced a smile. "I'm fine, Mom."She nodded, her eyes knowing. "I've planned something that will take care of Kevin, that'd eliminate him from the company. But not tonight."I raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Hmm, that's good news, Mom." I let out a mirthless smile knowing that deep down, Kevin's going down. My mother smiled, a cold glint in her eye. "Tonight, let's just enjoy the celebration.
