KELVIN'S POV

I stood in front of the mirror, admiring my reflection with a critical eye. My hair was styled to perfection, the sharp jawline and angular features framing my handsome face.

Yeah I said it, handsome.

I adjusted my fitted leather jacket, the black color accentuating my rebellious attitude. I wasn't the guy to wear a suit and tie, even for office.

My shades, a trendy pair with brightly colored frames, added a touch of swagger to my overall look. I smirked, feeling like a celebrity about to walk the red carpet. This was my style, and I owned it.

I was the king of my world. And today, just like every other day,I was ready to take on anything. With a final nod of approval, I muttered to myself. "Let's see what the day has to offer,"

I grabbed my keys and headed out, the sound of my boots echoing through the hallway. Ready to head to the company.

The company

My mind lingered on the words, a mix of nostalgia and resentment swirling in my chest. Memories flooded my mind. This company, built from the ground up by my mother, with my father by her side, was more than just a business – it was a legacy born from love and hard work.

I remembered the warmth and camaraderie that once filled the office, where every employee felt like family, working together towards a common goal. The passion and dedication were palpable, and the company's growth was a testament to their efforts.

But now, with my mother's departure,I couldn't help but wonder if that sense of family and purpose would survive.

It wouldn't survive, with my father's second wife at the helm,I doubt it would.

Veronica,my father's second wife, exuded a toxic charm, her calculated smile masking a ruthless ambition that drove her every move. She was manipulating, a masterful puppeteer, pulling strings from behind the scenes, her true intentions hidden behind a façade of innocence and concern.

But she would never deceive me.

She thought she could just take it all for herself, all that my dear mother worked so hard for. Like hell she wouldn't dare. I clenched my jaw, determination burning within me. I was here to protect my mother's legacy, no matter what.

"Damn that woman! what the fuck did she do to my father! The man is blinded," I grunted silently, the scheming still simmered in my veins, fueling my resolve to fight for what was rightfully my mother's.

I headed downstairs, but the scene that greeted me was anything but ordinary. Dad stood with suitcases scattered around him, Veronica by his side with a smug look on her face. The driver and secretary were loaded up with their belongings, looking like they were about to embark on a long journey.

My eyes narrowed, suspicion etched on my face. "What's going on?" I demanded, my voice firm. "Why is everyone's stuff packed?" The questions hung in the air.

"Good morning to you too, Kelvin." My father made a jest.

Of course I skipped the formalities. But fuck it.

I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Dad's attempt at humor when I was being serious. "Come on, Dad, just tell me," I pressed, my patience wearing thin. "Why are you packed?"

My father's expression turned sheepish, but before he could respond, Veronica jumped in, her voice like nails on a chalkboard. "How could you forget, Kelvin? Your father made it clear – he'll be gone for three months to establish a partnership in Mexico."

My eyes locked onto hers, a spark of annoyance igniting within me. _Like my father didn't have a damn voice_. I turned my gaze back to Dad, expecting him to intervene, but he seemed hesitant, letting Veronica dictate the narrative.

"Three months?" I repeated, my tone laced with skepticism.

"Three months,Son" my father replied, his voice firm but laced with a hint of apology. "It's necessary, Kelvin. I'll be establishing a crucial partnership in Mexico, and Veronica will be handling a few things in my absence."

Fuck,what?

I opened my mouth to speak, but Veronica cut in before I could ask the question burning on my mind – what about me?

"Your father wants you to complete your studies. ," she said, her tone dripping with superiority. The words felt like a punch to the gut, and my gaze snapped back to my father, searching for answers. "What? Dad, what is Veronica saying?" I demanded, my voice rising in frustration.

My father's expression softened, and he took a step forward, his eyes locked on mine. "Let's talk outside," he said, his voice gentle but firm. I nodded, still trying to process what was happening. We stepped out into the cool air, leaving Veronica's smug smile behind.

As we walked, the sound of the door closed behind us. "Dad, what's going on?" I asked, my voice laced with a mix of confusion and concern. My father's eyes seemed to hold a thousand unspoken words, and I could sense the weight of something significant hanging in the balance.

I stood tall, conviction in my voice. "Dad, you know I can handle the business already. I don't need to study further, I'm already capable."

My father's expression was understanding, and he placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Of course you're capable, son." He paused, his eyes serious. "But, you'll get your degree. This is really important. You'll have to get a degree in Business Management." He explained.

He added that having a degree would give me the freedom to build my own career, independent of his company. It would open doors for partnerships and opportunities, not just because of my last name, but because of my education and skills.

"That degree would serve as evidence that you studied, Kelvin," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "It's about having a foundation that proves your expertise, regardless of who you are or who your father is.

The sound of the secretary's voice broke the moment, "Sir, it's time to go." My father's gaze swept over me one last time, his eyes serious. "You'll visit the company and study at the same time. Don't disappoint me." With that, he turned to leave.

Just then, Veronica and her son, Jimmy emerged, their faces a picture of fake concern. The sight of them together made my skin crawl.

As Jimmy approached my father, I caught snippets of their conversation. "Study hard, son," my father said, and my he nodded, "I won't let you down, Father." The hypocrisy was almost palpable. I watched, my eyes narrowed, as my father bid us farewell and departed with Veronica and the others.

Jimmy turned to me, his smirk was infuriating. "What's up, brother? Heard some bad news?" he taunted.

"Shut up," I snapped, my temper flaring. The jerkass was always trying to get under my skin.

He chuckled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Shit, you're always so hot-tempered. I hope it doesn't burn you."

I rolled my eyes, dismissing him, and strode towards my car. I had more important things to focus on – like getting to the company and setting things in order before Veronica arrived. I didn't trust her, and her son was no better. As I drove away, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was in for a battle.

"I thought I was fucking done with school! oh shit!"

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 72: The wedding Night

KELVIN'S POV The night drew on, and the party continued at the mansion. The atmosphere was thick with music and people sipping on their drinks in every corner. I sat with my dad, surrounded by a sea of suits, all of whom had come to congratulate me on my marriage and, more importantly, my entry into the business world. My dad, beaming with pride, raised his glass. "To my son, Kelvin, and his beautiful bride, Kelly. May your union bring us all prosperity and success. And, of course, I'm proud to say that Kelvin has finally gotten his degree and is ready to join the business world properly." The businessmen around us chuckled and echoed the sentiment, offering their congratulations. I smiled, shaking hands and thanking them, but my mind was elsewhere. Where was she, my wife? She hadn't been anywhere insight since we left the church. I excused myself, standing up. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go find Kelly," I said, excusing myself from the group. As I made my way thr

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 71: "I DO"

KELLY'S POV Two months had passed since my father's release from prison, and everything had fallen into place. He'd been given back his company and house, and now I lived knowing I had a family. Anna had moved in with Beck's family after our graduation, and I'd moved in with Kelvin to his penthouse. Jimmy and I were in good terms now, and he'd had to accept that I was dating Kelvin. Interestingly, Jimmy had fallen for Debbie, who'd been there for him since his mother's imprisonment. Today, all the girls and I were at a beauty salon, getting pampered and prepped for the big day – my wedding. As the stylists did their magic, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the journey that had brought me to this moment. I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle and marry the love of my life. The thought of spending the rest of my life with Kelvin filled me with joy and happiness. "When are you and Dante tying the knot?" Debbie joked, winking at Ashley. Ashley laughed, a secretive sm

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 70: She never stopped loving me

JIMMY'S POV I walked into the prison, my heart heavy with emotions. It had been two days since everything went down, and I was still trying to process it all.I was led to the visiting room, and my mom was already there, waiting for me. She smiled, her eyes warm. "Jimmy, my son," she said, her voice soft. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, but it was no use. The anger, the hurt, the betrayal - it all came flooding back. The faint smile on her face was like a punch to the gut. How could she be smiling? Didn't she know what she had done? I sat down, trying to keep my emotions in check, but it was like trying to hold back a tidal wave. "Why, Mom?" I asked, my voice shaking with rage and hurt. "Why did you do it?"My mom's expression didn't change, her eyes still shining with a cold, calculating glare. "I did it for you, Jimmy. I wanted to give you the best life possible."The words were like a slap in the face. "The best life? You stole from Dad, from Kelvin's mom.

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 69 : The Final truth.

KELVIN'S POV I nodded to Becks and Kelly as we parted ways. "I'll join you guys in a minute," I said, slipping away to make my way to my room. "And Becks, thanks again. " I head to the room for a quick shower. The bruises on my face were starting to sting, and I wanted to look presentable for what was to come. I changed into a fresh suit then made my way to the party, receiving condolences from guests along the way. I nodded and smiled, but my mind was elsewhere. I took a seat, my eyes scanned the room, finally landing on Veronica. She was smiling and laughing with the guest, oblivious to the storm that was about to hit her. I stood up, my eyes locked on her. My father, seated beside me, placed a hand on my arm, his eyes questioning what I was about to do. I gave him a reassuring nod. The music stopped, and I stepped forward, my voice ringing out across the room. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for gathering here tonight to pay your respects to my mother. But I think it

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 68: Escape plan failed

KELLY'S POV I stepped out of the car, my heels clicking on the driveway as I took in the sight of the mansion. The atmosphere was already electric, with sleek cars and rich-looking people milling about. Anna smiled and took my arm, leading me inside. As we entered the grand hall, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. I pulled out my phone and tried Kelvin's line again, but it went straight to voicemail. "Hey, Kelvin, we Just arrived at the mansion. Where are you?" I said, trying to keep my voice light. Anna placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Kelly, calm down. He told us he was on his way, just relax." But I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I had tried calling him multiple times, and he wasn't answering. I felt a knot in my stomach, a sense of worry that I couldn't ignore. Just then, Kelvin's grandmother appeared, a warm smile on her face. She enveloped me in a hug, her perfume familiar and comforting. "Ah, Kelly, dear, so lovely to s

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 67: Sweet Payback

JIMMY'S POV I stood on the balcony, sipping my whiskey, watching the guests arrive at the Montego's mansion. The celebration of Kevin's mom's life was a farce, a show of wealth and status. Otherwise, why care so much about the deaths? I scoffed, my mind elsewhere. Kelly was on my mind, and my plan for Kelvin tonight. My mother joined me, her eyes scanning the crowd below. "How are you, Jimmy?" she asked, her voice concerned.I forced a smile. "I'm fine, Mom."She nodded, her eyes knowing. "I've planned something that will take care of Kevin, that'd eliminate him from the company. But not tonight."I raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Hmm, that's good news, Mom." I let out a mirthless smile knowing that deep down, Kevin's going down. My mother smiled, a cold glint in her eye. "Tonight, let's just enjoy the celebration. We'll deal with Kelvin another day."I nodded, my mind racing. Kelvin was going to pay, and it was going to hurt, I couldn't stop thinking of what I'd do to him
