KELVIN'S POV

I stood in front of the mirror, admiring my reflection with a critical eye. My hair was styled to perfection, the sharp jawline and angular features framing my handsome face.

Yeah I said it, handsome.

I adjusted my fitted leather jacket, the black color accentuating my rebellious attitude. I wasn't the guy to wear a suit and tie, even for office.

My shades, a trendy pair with brightly colored frames, added a touch of swagger to my overall look. I smirked, feeling like a celebrity about to walk the red carpet. This was my style, and I owned it.

I was the king of my world. And today, just like every other day,I was ready to take on anything. With a final nod of approval, I muttered to myself. "Let's see what the day has to offer,"

I grabbed my keys and headed out, the sound of my boots echoing through the hallway. Ready to head to the company.

The company

My mind lingered on the words, a mix of nostalgia and resentment swirling in my chest. Memories flooded my mind. This company, built from the ground up by my mother, with my father by her side, was more than just a business – it was a legacy born from love and hard work.

I remembered the warmth and camaraderie that once filled the office, where every employee felt like family, working together towards a common goal. The passion and dedication were palpable, and the company's growth was a testament to their efforts.

But now, with my mother's departure,I couldn't help but wonder if that sense of family and purpose would survive.

It wouldn't survive, with my father's second wife at the helm,I doubt it would.

Veronica,my father's second wife, exuded a toxic charm, her calculated smile masking a ruthless ambition that drove her every move. She was manipulating, a masterful puppeteer, pulling strings from behind the scenes, her true intentions hidden behind a façade of innocence and concern.

But she would never deceive me.

She thought she could just take it all for herself, all that my dear mother worked so hard for. Like hell she wouldn't dare. I clenched my jaw, determination burning within me. I was here to protect my mother's legacy, no matter what.

"Damn that woman! what the fuck did she do to my father! The man is blinded," I grunted silently, the scheming still simmered in my veins, fueling my resolve to fight for what was rightfully my mother's.

I headed downstairs, but the scene that greeted me was anything but ordinary. Dad stood with suitcases scattered around him, Veronica by his side with a smug look on her face. The driver and secretary were loaded up with their belongings, looking like they were about to embark on a long journey.

My eyes narrowed, suspicion etched on my face. "What's going on?" I demanded, my voice firm. "Why is everyone's stuff packed?" The questions hung in the air.

"Good morning to you too, Kelvin." My father made a jest.

Of course I skipped the formalities. But fuck it.

I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Dad's attempt at humor when I was being serious. "Come on, Dad, just tell me," I pressed, my patience wearing thin. "Why are you packed?"

My father's expression turned sheepish, but before he could respond, Veronica jumped in, her voice like nails on a chalkboard. "How could you forget, Kelvin? Your father made it clear – he'll be gone for three months to establish a partnership in Mexico."

My eyes locked onto hers, a spark of annoyance igniting within me. _Like my father didn't have a damn voice_. I turned my gaze back to Dad, expecting him to intervene, but he seemed hesitant, letting Veronica dictate the narrative.

"Three months?" I repeated, my tone laced with skepticism.

"Three months,Son" my father replied, his voice firm but laced with a hint of apology. "It's necessary, Kelvin. I'll be establishing a crucial partnership in Mexico, and Veronica will be handling a few things in my absence."

Fuck,what?

I opened my mouth to speak, but Veronica cut in before I could ask the question burning on my mind – what about me?

"Your father wants you to complete your studies. ," she said, her tone dripping with superiority. The words felt like a punch to the gut, and my gaze snapped back to my father, searching for answers. "What? Dad, what is Veronica saying?" I demanded, my voice rising in frustration.

My father's expression softened, and he took a step forward, his eyes locked on mine. "Let's talk outside," he said, his voice gentle but firm. I nodded, still trying to process what was happening. We stepped out into the cool air, leaving Veronica's smug smile behind.

As we walked, the sound of the door closed behind us. "Dad, what's going on?" I asked, my voice laced with a mix of confusion and concern. My father's eyes seemed to hold a thousand unspoken words, and I could sense the weight of something significant hanging in the balance.

I stood tall, conviction in my voice. "Dad, you know I can handle the business already. I don't need to study further, I'm already capable."

My father's expression was understanding, and he placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Of course you're capable, son." He paused, his eyes serious. "But, you'll get your degree. This is really important. You'll have to get a degree in Business Management." He explained.

He added that having a degree would give me the freedom to build my own career, independent of his company. It would open doors for partnerships and opportunities, not just because of my last name, but because of my education and skills.

"That degree would serve as evidence that you studied, Kelvin," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "It's about having a foundation that proves your expertise, regardless of who you are or who your father is.

The sound of the secretary's voice broke the moment, "Sir, it's time to go." My father's gaze swept over me one last time, his eyes serious. "You'll visit the company and study at the same time. Don't disappoint me." With that, he turned to leave.

Just then, Veronica and her son, Jimmy emerged, their faces a picture of fake concern. The sight of them together made my skin crawl.

As Jimmy approached my father, I caught snippets of their conversation. "Study hard, son," my father said, and my he nodded, "I won't let you down, Father." The hypocrisy was almost palpable. I watched, my eyes narrowed, as my father bid us farewell and departed with Veronica and the others.

Jimmy turned to me, his smirk was infuriating. "What's up, brother? Heard some bad news?" he taunted.

"Shut up," I snapped, my temper flaring. The jerkass was always trying to get under my skin.

He chuckled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Shit, you're always so hot-tempered. I hope it doesn't burn you."

I rolled my eyes, dismissing him, and strode towards my car. I had more important things to focus on – like getting to the company and setting things in order before Veronica arrived. I didn't trust her, and her son was no better. As I drove away, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was in for a battle.

"I thought I was fucking done with school! oh shit!"

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 55: Who will claim her

JIMMY'S POV I trudged down the stairs, the scene before me felt like a knife to the gut. My entire family, gathered at the dining table, Kelly sitting serenely next to Kelvin like a newlywed bride. The sight made my blood boil like hell. Kelly glanced at me, her eyes shifting apologetically, but I saw frustration simmering beneath the surface. It was as if she wanted to be anywhere else but there, with anyone else but Kelvin.—With me, if only I wasn't being delusional, blinded by my own desires to claim Kelly. The thought sent a wave of anger and pain crashing over me. I felt my heart breaking like never before. Kelly wasn't mine, yet, but she wasn't Kelvin's own, not even when he was letting everyone know they were together. I stormed out of the house, not caring about the dinner or the family's expectations. The cool evening air sure did little to calm my racing heart as I sat down in the garden. "Kelvin must be fucking thrilled right now huh!" I thought out loud, my

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 54: About her past

KELLY'S POV When we stepped into the grand mansion, I couldn't help but feel a wave of nervousness wash over me. Kelvin's hand wrapped around mine was the only thing holding me steady. His grandmother was already beaming at me, her eyes sparkling with warmth. I forced a smile, trying to hide my unease. Kelvin's grip on my hand tightened, and I glanced up at him, searching for reassurance. His calm smile and gentle squeeze told me everything would be okay. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart as we settled at the dining area. But I was never going to be calm. No. Not at all. My anxiety spiked at the thought of Jimmy being in the same house, let alone joining us for dinner. My mind was racing with worst-case scenarios, and I could feel my palms growing sweaty. Kelvin's hand in mine was the only thing keeping me grounded, but even that couldn't calm the storm brewing inside me. I forced a weak smile, trying to play it cool, but my eyes darted around the room, s

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 53: Introducing his girl

KELVIN'S POV It was about time I did what I should have done a long time ago—introduce my girl. Kelly was mine, and mine alone. Although Last night, something had shifted inside of me when she didn't wear the outfit I had sent, instead, she wore the one from Jimmy. My heart sank, more than ever I felt heartbroken. Not like I knew I'd loose her, and not to Jimmy. But the implication of Jimmy's dare the night before hung in the air,a challenge that he'd won. Even though it broke me, and I was dying inside ,i didn't let it show. I left the party earlier than planned because it kept eating me up. But hell, she was still my girl. And so, I had to claim her in every right way—starting by introducing her as mine. I revved up the engine, and the tires screeched against the concrete floor as I peeled out of a swanky boutique parking lot, hitting the open road with a grin, and a fresh new outfit for my girl. The anticipation was killing me. I'd envisioned Kelly's striking beau

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 52: Night turned chaotic

Kelly's POV We swayed to the music on the dance floor, Jimmy's eyes locked onto mine, and I felt my heart skip a beat. We just stared, lost in eachother's eyes, the world around us fading away. Jimmy's fingers intertwined with mine, pulling me closer, he whispered into my ears, "I wish the night never ends, I could dance with you till the morning." His breath tickled my ear. I felt a rush of emotions, my heart pounding in my chest. It was as if time had stood still, and all that mattered was the two of us, lost in the moment. I just smiled and rested my head against his chest while we continued swaying to the rythm. As we danced, I caught a glimpse of Debbie out of the corner of my eye. She was glaring at me, her expression icy. I felt a shiver run down my spine, and my body shifted slightly. Jimmy noticed the movement and raised an eyebrow. "Everything okay?" he asked, his voice filled with concern. I forced a smile, not wanting to ruin the moment. "Yeah, everything's fin

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 51: A perfect night

KELLY'S POV As the evening approached, Anna's plan was set in motion. I slipped into the stunning red dress Jimmy had sent, feeling like a million bucks. Anna helped me accessorize with the beautiful shimmery gold clutch and shoes Kelvin had sent. We exchanged mischievous glances, both knowing we were taking a risk. At least, I had on something from both of them. God, i hoped it wouldn't cause me my life. Anna, meanwhile, looked absolutely breathtaking in the emerald green dress Kelvin had sent for her. The strapless design accentuated her delicate collarbones, and the intricate beading sparkled like diamonds in the light. The dress hugged her curves perfectly, showcasing her toned physique. She squirmed under my gaze, laughing as I complimented her. "You look perfect, Anna!" I exclaimed, and she beamed with pride. When it was my turn to admire myself, Anna gasped in awe. "Kelly, you look stunning!" she said, her eyes widening at how the red dress complemented my skin tone

  • SHE'S MINE ALONE   CHAPTER 50: Trapped with packages.

KELLY'S POV I exhaled heavily as the door closed behind Kelvin. I turned to Anna, who was grinning at me. "Girl, that was close!" she whispered. I nodded, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. "I know, right? I don't know how much longer I can keep this up." Anna's expression turned serious. "We'll figure it out, Kelly. But for now, let's just breathe and enjoy the fact that Kelvin didn't suspect anything." I nodded, taking a deep breath. "You're right. Let's just enjoy the peace while it lasts." We exchanged a look, both of us knowing that this was just the beginning of a complicated situation. Anna grabbed the dinner, heading to the kitchen. "Kelvin's so sweet, Kelly. I mean, who brings dinner to their girlfriend's place? You should just choose Kelvin, he's enough!" She called out, making me chuckle. I nudged her playfully. "Shut up and just enjoy the dinner." We both burst out laughing, the tension from earlier slowly dissipating. As the night went on, I eventu
