KELVIN'S POV

I stood by the door watching my asshole little brother and his dumb ass friends harassing a poor girl. I shook my head sighing, he was never going to change. -That boy got a sheep brain.Too cowardice to be a Montego . I brushed away the thoughts of interfering only until Jimmy warned her to leave and never showed up anywhere around this campus. He was going too far.

"She is going no where!" I said. My voice cold and firm.

My words cut through the tense silence like a knife, startling Jimmy and his friends. They turned to face me, their eyes wide with surprise. I stood tall and firm, my gaze unflinching. I was not going to let them get away with bullying this girl, not on my watch.

"You don't have that right, Little brother. " I spoke, firmly, holding his gaze unflinchingly.

"And who do you think you are to tell me what I can and can't do?" Jimmy growled, his anger palpable.

The tension escalated as I stood firm, my words hanging in the air like a challenge. Jimmy's face reddened with rage, his anger and indignation boiling over.

"You think you can dictate what I do?" he sneered, but I cut him off, my voice unwavering. "I'm not asking you to think, I'm telling you. You shouldn't dare bully her ever again." I warned, My gaze never wavered, my eyes locked onto Jimmy's, daring him to push back.

"How dare you, Kelvin?. Just who the fuck do you think you are, huh, a boss?. You will regret this, I promise you!" Jimmy ranted, his threads were nothing but a baby's cry to my ears.

My eyes narrowed as I turned to Jimmy's friends. "Scram," I said, my voice low and dangerous. " Get the fuck out of here. And don't you ever bother her again. If I hear of you harassing her again, there will be consequences. I'm warning you."

The air was heavy with anticipation, Jimmy's friends shifted uncomfortably, sensing the danger that lurked beneath my calm exterior, and for a moment, it seemed like they might intervene. But Jimmy's anger seemed to deflate slightly, replaced by a calculating look, as if he was weighing his options.

" I’m sure you wouldn’t want to anger me, little brother." Flame oozing from every word as I spoke. "Now piss the fuck off!" I yelled, veins pursing out of my head.

For a moment, I thought he'd push back, but then he seemed to think better of it, his eyes flicking to mine before he turned and stalked off, his friends following closely behind.

The silence that followed was oppressive. I turned to face the girl, my face softening as i looked at her. "Are you okay?" I asked gently hoping I hadn’t scared her with my palpable rage.

The girl nodded, her eyes downcast. "I'm okay," she said, her voice barely audible. "Thank you for standing up for me."

I smiled and nodded, my eyes shining with compassion. "You're welcome," i said. "I just couldn't stand by and let them do that to you. It's not right."

The girl looked up at me, a shy smile appeared on her lips. "You really did saved me. You’re so different from all of them." She confessed shyly.

As i looked at her, i couldn't help but notice how pretty she is. Her features were delicate and soft, and her eyes were a deep, soulful brown. They were mesmerizing, like a deep brown lake that was impossible to look away from. Her beauty was captivating, and I found myself wanting to know more about her, to learn everything i could about this mysterious girl.

But why was my dumb ass brother chasing her away?

"What's your name?" I asked, my voice low and gentle. She hesitated for a moment, but then she answered, "Kelly." She said softly. The name played in my head for some time. "Beautiful." I said before noticing her expression shifting. "Beautiful name." I added as I continued to study her.

"You look really..different." I muttered, taking in the sight of her outfit.

Her face seemed to fall, sort of like she felt embarrassed by my words.

"You have a really great fashion sense," I said, my eyes taking in every detail of her outfit. "You don't look like the other girls in school. You're different, in a good way."

"It's okay. You don't have to sugarcoat it. I know I'm dowdy, everyone seems to make sure I don't forget." She said, her voice tinged with sadness

"Hey, I'm not everyone. I never tell a lie. Believe me, you look good in your own style. " I affirmed

Kelly's eyes widened as if she wasn’t used to receiving compliments, especially about her style. I could tell that my words had made an impact, and i felt a surge of pride at making her feel good about herself.

"You look really surprised," i said, a smile playing at the corners of my mouth. "I just call it like I see it. And I see a girl who has a unique sense of style that's totally her own. It's refreshing."

Kelly's lips turned up in a shy smile. "Thanks," she said, feeling a little more emotional, as if she was going to tear up any moment. "I don’t know if you really mean that, or you’re just put here to mock me too." She said, her voice shaking.

"Mock you too?" I questioned in disbelief. "Did my asshole brother and his dumbass friends mock you for your outfit?" She nodded in response, feeling so belittled. My anger rose again,Jimmy was going to get a taste of her pain later. But first, "was this why he wanted you expelled?"

She took a deep breath, bracing herself. "Well, that was part of it." She muttered.

My expression turned thoughtful. "So they're not just being mean for the sake of being mean," i said. "They're actually pressuring you to change who you are. Of course you shouldn't have to change for them," I continued, my voice firm and resolute.

"To be honest, if I could, then I would change." She said sadly. She looked like she was hiding so much pain behind her eyes, like her smile was missing a long time ago.

I wrapped my words in a soft tone, "You don't have to change who you are for anyone's sake. Especially not Jimmy." I said, my voice gentle and comforting.

"It's not just Jimmy. It's just... everyone else here on campus. I feel so out of place," she explained, her voice trembling.

The pain in her words resonated deep within me, and I felt a pang of sadness in my chest. I felt the need to be close to her, to help her.

Glancing down at my watch, i was running late for the office. "I'm sorry to cut this short," i said, "but I have to get to work." I wrote down my number and handed it to her. "If you ever need anything, or just want to talk, you can reach me at this number,"

"Thanks again. " She smiled shortly as she collected the paper.

Her smile, as quick as it was,it was the brightest thing I saw since the day started.

I found myself cracking a smile as I stumped out.

A smile really? It had been ages I smiled.

KELVIN'S POV The night drew on, and the party continued at the mansion. The atmosphere was thick with music and people sipping on their drinks in every corner. I sat with my dad, surrounded by a sea of suits, all of whom had come to congratulate me on my marriage and, more importantly, my entry into the business world. My dad, beaming with pride, raised his glass. "To my son, Kelvin, and his beautiful bride, Kelly. May your union bring us all prosperity and success. And, of course, I'm proud to say that Kelvin has finally gotten his degree and is ready to join the business world properly." The businessmen around us chuckled and echoed the sentiment, offering their congratulations. I smiled, shaking hands and thanking them, but my mind was elsewhere. Where was she, my wife? She hadn't been anywhere insight since we left the church. I excused myself, standing up. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go find Kelly," I said, excusing myself from the group. As I made my way thr

Anna had moved in with Beck's family after our graduation, and I'd moved in with Kelvin to his penthouse. Jimmy and I were in good terms now, and he'd had to accept that I was dating Kelvin. Today, all the girls and I were at a beauty salon, getting pampered and prepped for the big day – my wedding. As the stylists did their magic, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the journey that had brought me to this moment. I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle and marry the love of my life. The thought of spending the rest of my life with Kelvin filled me with joy and happiness. "When are you and Dante tying the knot?" Debbie joked, winking at Ashley. Ashley laughed, a secretive sm

It had been two days since everything went down, and I was still trying to process it all.I was led to the visiting room, and my mom was already there, waiting for me. She smiled, her eyes warm. "Jimmy, my son," she said, her voice soft. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, but it was no use. The anger, the hurt, the betrayal - it all came flooding back. The faint smile on her face was like a punch to the gut. How could she be smiling? Didn't she know what she had done? I sat down, trying to keep my emotions in check, but it was like trying to hold back a tidal wave. "Why, Mom?" I asked, my voice shaking with rage and hurt. "Why did you do it?"My mom's expression didn't change, her eyes still shining with a cold, calculating glare. "I did it for you, Jimmy. I wanted to give you the best life possible."The words were like a slap in the face. "The best life? You stole from Dad, from Kelvin's mom.

" I head to the room for a quick shower. The bruises on my face were starting to sting, and I wanted to look presentable for what was to come. I changed into a fresh suit then made my way to the party, receiving condolences from guests along the way. I nodded and smiled, but my mind was elsewhere. I took a seat, my eyes scanned the room, finally landing on Veronica. She was smiling and laughing with the guest, oblivious to the storm that was about to hit her. I stood up, my eyes locked on her. My father, seated beside me, placed a hand on my arm, his eyes questioning what I was about to do. I gave him a reassuring nod. The music stopped, and I stepped forward, my voice ringing out across the room. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for gathering here tonight to pay your respects to my mother. But I think it

The atmosphere was already electric, with sleek cars and rich-looking people milling about. Anna smiled and took my arm, leading me inside. As we entered the grand hall, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. I pulled out my phone and tried Kelvin's line again, but it went straight to voicemail. "Hey, Kelvin, we Just arrived at the mansion. Where are you?" I said, trying to keep my voice light. Anna placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Kelly, calm down. "I've planned something that will take care of Kevin, that'd eliminate him from the company. But not tonight."I raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Hmm, that's good news, Mom." I let out a mirthless smile knowing that deep down, Kevin's going down. My mother smiled, a cold glint in her eye. "Tonight, let's just enjoy the celebration.
