I always knew this moment would come. The day when I would have to face Harold and tell him the tel truth about why I was really here in his pack and his home.

I’d been preparing my mind for this conversation, knowing it was inevitable. I could only wish that Harold didn’t hate me once it was over.

“You know why I’m here,” I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “How do you know?”

More importantly, what did he know? Who had told him? Exactly how much of the truth had been altered?

Harold sat up in his seat. He let go of my fingers and I instantly missed the contact. He folded his arms around his chest. Not once did his eyes leave mine.

“After the other night, when you’d come so close to telling me the truth of what was going on with you and why you’re really here, I asked Brian to do some digging.”
