Jordan has never felt the crippling amount of guilt like he did listening to her.

And neither have he ever felt more jealous than he did now too.

And it was absurdly funny because the said jealousy was directed at himself.

Well, the younger him that had been Jordan Carmichael.

She'd been in love with that guy and even now, she talked about him like she still was.

And damn him to hell if he wasn't legit jealous of that boy, even though he'd been an obtuse fool by choice then.

She has no idea he was that boy and here he was feeling cheated with that knowledge.

It had been something though, to see the boy he'd been through her eyes.

To know that while he'd been fighting to find his place in this life, family, world, someone had actually seen through it enough to love him.

She humbled him.
