CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

She lay in the protective circle of his arms, still reeling from his words.

It might not be much to anyone else but to her, it was a big step.

She took the opportunity of being with his like to drill him about himself.

She wanted to know what made him tick, his past, future, anything that he was willing to offer that let her see past the man behind his 'I'm always control persona'.

He didn't hold back or shush her questions like the little doubting minx that has taken permanent residence inside her head had expected.

He listened and then, his swoon worthy drawl droned on in answer.

Though his answers about his family had been vague and the ones about his childhood even more so, it had been something.

He was the second of three sons.

He has an elder brother whose name he'd skillfully omitted and a younger brother who ran their family business now.

He didn't sound so thrilled about her incessant probing for snippets of his personal details about his life and family and younger days.
