It was Jojo's ringing phone that disrupted the silence in which they worked.

She cringed and speedily put it off. You'd think that working in this mandatory silence for six straight months would teach her to always put her ever ringing phone on silent mode.

She stealthily raised her eyes to sneak a glance at scary boss man but those hypnotic deep green orbs were already trained on her.

Their gazes locked and she felt that zing of desire run down her spine to her most feminine part.

Sometimes she wonders if he feels it too.

She shifted uncomfortably, moving her eyes away from his, her face burning red.

She tried to focus on the monitor of her system as she mutteted a quick, "I'm sorry sir."

If she'd thought that time was all it was going to take to cure her of her insane attraction to her incredibly hot boss, Jordan McGrath, then she was in for a surprise.

She was beginning to realize that now.

Six months have flown by already but her desire for the dangerously handsome and incredibly sexy man rather than fading away, was intensifying by the day.

It was so bad now that it would only take anything that was him to get her all hot and bothered. His voice, his cologne, his eyes, even his very rare smile that somehow seemed so familiar yet so different.

But this Jordan was like the forbidden fruit to her.

She shouldn't want him, shouldn't dream it or even think about him in any inappropriate way because whatever happens, she knew it deep down that she didn't stand a chance to have a bite of this forbidden apple she craves.

But so help her God, she did want him. Forbidden yet so red and tempting.

She always fantasised about him and his promising body that he always hid behind his long sleeved shirts and power suits.

Imagine having free access to that body, kissing those sensual lips anytime she wanted, teaching him that life isn't all about snarking and biting and frowning, with the language of her body.

But they were just fantasies, her castles in the cloud, because their lives were two parallel lines, they were destined to never meet.

She sighed with something akin to resignation.

His lives the easy, comfortable and always in the lime light kind of life, with the paparazzi always flocking around him while she comes with as much baggage as should be labelled illegal.

There was no way fate could manage to spin this one together, not even when cupids arrow didn't stand a chance.

She almost laughed at the misery it made except she could feel his eyes on her.

Talk about baggage that was her life, the phone call she'd ignored earlier.

That could've been her mother's nurse, or Riley's teacher.

It could have been an important call, could've been someone's life on the line and just like the one she got on the day her father died, she'd ignored it.

She reached for her phone.

His voice was low, but she heard it.

"Jojo."

She paused.

No one has called her that name in ten years. Everyone always seemed to feel Jocie was a more fitting, feminine and damn pleasing short form of her name.

Well, except her Jordan.

He'd taken one look at her overly enthusiastic six years old self with her two missing front teeth and called her Jojo.

She could still remember that mega watt smile she'd flashed him. They'd become best friends after that though he'd been four years older.

The other boys had teased the hell out of him about his little mole because she was always at his side and they'd kept calling her Jocie no matter how many times she told them not to because she was going to grow breasts when she got older not balls.

How did he know that name?

Her eyes sought his which she knew were already staring at her.

His eyes held hers, soft and tempting and knowing.

The moment was lost soon after as his phone rang out.

It's no offence when it's his phone, incase you were wondering.

"Yeah, this is Jordan McGrath, any issue with that?"

Does he always have to sound angry.

Jojo turned back to her work trying hard to tune out his deep baritone as he took his call.

She did try to, but the image of him using that voice, less harsh, in a different way, a different scenario, one that required less clothing and more......

"We're going out." His voice startled her out of that thought.

"Where are we going, sir?"

He just kept walking.

She scrambled up, picking up her phone and everything else she felt would be necessary for whatever they were to and followed his already exiting figure.

If only the man would offer a little help at times by answering her questions then she wouldn't have to carry so many things.

Jordan Watched as she ran after him, trying to make it in before the doors to his office's private elevator closed shut.

She did make it in just like he expected she would.

If there's anything she hasn't lost since he'd last seen her before these last six months, it was that energy of a fired bullet.

She scooted over to the over end of the confining space, irking him. His schooled expression doesn't let on his anger though.

She grew well, he thought, more than he'd expected she would. Beautiful with perfectly rounded hips, a delectable ass and high perky breasts he badly wanted to reveal to his hungry eyes and have his wicked ways with.

He shouldn't have such thoughts about her, but so help him God cause he did. More than was rational.

If only she would do something about her clothes, she wouldn't look anything short of gorgeous.

His eyes darted to the annoying piece of clothing she chose today.

No one should be made to look at that, not to mention wearing it.

Sometimes, actually all the time, he felt the strong need to drag her out of his office building to the nearest shopping mall to get better outfits that will do justice to that gorgeous body of hers.

But this was Jojo he was talking about, stubborn as all get out.

Same as when they were much younger, probably a lot worse now.

It was hard to tell if she was still as daring and carefree as she'd been then too. In the hours she spent in his office, she was always calm and apologetic about everything.

She was different that way.

He intended to just glance at her, but he couldn't bring himself to stop looking at her.

She was oblivious to his hungry eyes taking her in, devouring the sight of her and that gave him enough time to feed his starved soul.

She swayed a little, her hands still full. He felt guilty about that. He should have told her it was a meeting with Morgan of Morgan Inc., then she wouldn't have had to bring so much.

The elevator opened, depositing them in the garage.

Fred, his driver, was already there waiting. Lisa must have called him.

He paused and waited until she got closer then he opened the door for her and motioned for her to get in.

She stood shell shocked staring at him with those baby blue eyes he could drown in.

He raised a brow at her still waiting for her to get in.

A faint smile curved the corners of her lips upwards. If he hadn't been paying attention he might have missed that.

Her smile was beautiful.

He got in after her and watched as she shifted to the other far end of the seat while trying to stuff all the things she's brought into her bag.

He let out a sigh and turned to stare out the window.

She was scared of him.

Maybe that's why she didn't smile a lot anymore. His presence added to that.

The little one just now must have been because she thought he wasn't looking.

He didn't want her to be but she was and he doesn't know what to do with that.

He wasn't that bad, was he?

Yes, he's given her hell ever since she stepped into his office in that annoyingly beige dress, beige wasn't even her color, but that's only because he was always trying to get a reaction out of her.

Except from the obvious fear in her eyes and maybe the little admiration that he might have imagined on her face that first day, she's been totally indifferent to him. She barely ever says anything that isn't a greeting, an apology or work related and it made him mad.

The car sped through the city and he watched as everything flew by through the glass.

Nothing has changed in all the years he's been in this city.

The supposed five star restaurant they just drove past still has that sign with an 'e' missing from their name and a noticeable chip off the edge of the sign.

And the building that housed Molly's, his once favorite coffee shop, still haven't been renovated. The off white paint was beginning to peel now.

Everything was just as he remembered it. That wasn't something he could say for himself though.

He's changed a lot in the last ten years. More than he'd ever bargained for.

The car pulled into Morgan Inc. and drove into their parking lot.

His brows drew together in anger. He didn't like Morgan Drew for anything. The man was too shady and cunny to suit him. He had better not be up to anything.

Jojo noticed his change in mood and hurried out of the car as soon as it pulled to a stop before he had any chance to bite at her.

She followed behind him making sure not to have more than a few meters between.

Morgan Inc., she noticed wasn't as big as McGrath real estate housing and construction. The interior was nice but she would choose theirs any day.

She watched Jordan take another call and the frown on his face deepen.

He turned to her and she flinched at their proximity and took a step back. Then another.

His eyes narrowed at her in anger and she worried if she got it wrong with that too.

To his credit, he didn't say anything about that.

They got in the elevator heading up to Morgan Drew's office.

Jordan leaned against the opposite wall of the moving metal box, his eyes closed, his brows still drawn.

He looked beautiful. His hair raven black, his jawline sharp. The faint stubble on his face inviting to be touched.

She knew the roughness would be welcome against her smooth one just like his temptingly red and full lips would.

What would he do if she closed this small space between them and lift her hand to his face in a caress.

And take his mouth in a desperate kiss.

She was sure her overly expressive face must be painted with her longing and for one she was glad his eyes were closed.

But they weren't.

"If you are going to keep ogling me, then you should try doing it discreetly."

Her face coloured red in embarrassment. She wished the floor wold give way under her feet and let her fall through.

He noticed her discomfort and one corner of his lips lifted in a smirk.

The beast!

She pinned her eyes to the floor, hiding her tomato colored face.

She felt rather than saw him move closer to her.

She squirmed much to his amusement.

"Do I make you uncomfortable, little Jojo?"

His voice was almost a deep whisper, exciting and drowning her.

His eyes were burning into hers, a very dark shade of green.

The elevator doors opening saved her from that torture.

She practically ran out.

That in there was the first time he's initiating a close contact.

Nervous would be an understatement to what he did to her.

In her haste to get away from her boss, she bumped into someone.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking... " but he was already going away.

She turned almost immediately but all she saw was a back clad in all black turning a corner.

That was weird.

And his movement was surreptitious.

Maybe she should tell someone.

Jordan's big palm made contact with the small of her back, almost caressing.

"Seen a ghost, have you?"

She quickly moved away from him.

He was smirking again. This was a new Jordan McGrath she was being introduced to.

She wasn't sure if she hated this new side of him or looked forward to seeing more of him.

The guided her into Mr Morgan's secretary's office.

"Take care of her Lizzy." He told the smiling blonde after she dialed Mr Drew to announce his arrival.

"Sure bet, Mr McGrath. Anything for you."

Was it just her or did the blonde sound too patronizing.

He disappeared behind the big metal door that led to Morgan's office while she took a seat in Lizzy's office.

She was ignored immediately he was gone so she took the time to finally check her phone.

She put it on and waited for her notifications.

Just like she feared, there were countless missed calls from Maria, her mother's nurse.

There were loads of voicemails but the message pasted on her screen had all her attention.

"Jodie, you need to come home as soon as you can. It's your mom."

Just that, but Jojo felt the world crashing down in her shoulders.

Hailey stood in front of the whole family, her seven year old palms sweaty. She'd spent the whole night reciting this all over again, so it shouldn't be a big deal, yeah? "It's okay, baby, it's just us." Jojo whispered from her seat, her very pregnant belly making her movement strenuous. Yeah, just them. Well, here goes nothing. "Uhhmm, this is my family tree....." She started a little shyly, pointing to the treelike structure balanced on the table next to her, stuck full of pictures. Her voice was so small, but it carried around the room. "I made it myself, well, mummy helped.....a lot. And I'm taking it to school for show and tell on Monday." She could see her daddy giving her an encouraging thumbs up and it put the light into her eyes and confidence in her voice. "From the top, this is Granny Meghan and Grandpa Tommy who I didn't get to meet and they gave birth to my mommy and Riley. Too bad they died b

And to find out that he'd been her sperm donor, it killed her to believe it. Jordan was as struck as she was from what they'd read. She ached for her mother too, who'd had to live with all these for years, having no one to be by her side while she played sick and lost in a bid to protect her girls. It must have been hard, being in bed all year round, reliving the nightmares of both events and hating herself for being so weak. She swore she'd be stronger, for herself and Riley and they'd bring the man to Justice, for her mom. But I like her mom, she had Jordan by her side in these t

"No, that can't be." Jojo muttered in disgust as she watched the video playing out before her. There's no way this is true, no way it's him. It'd kill her to believe it was and see just how blind she's been all these years, to find out that her mom had been right all along......God, no.But her denial didn't bring any desired difference to what she'd seen, it didn't wipe the memory or make the video a prank. This had been the night she'd lost her father, this had been where his body had been found, there's no mistaking it, she'd never forgotten. It took Jordan rubbing down her back and asking her in a concerned voice to breathe, to realise she'd been holding her breath.Maybe if she holds it in long enough, she'd realise that all this is just a dream home wrong.Or maybe it wasn't and she was just in a hopeless denial."Please Jordan, tell me it's not him, tell me that's not Uncle Ferdie, I'll believe you."She sob

After Riley was fed and out with her very own little family, Alfie and puppy, JoJo got to work searching for that little box.It was one thing to loose her mother so unexpectedly, but to loose the last trace of evidence and her only hope to bringing whoever had been behind her decade old pain to justice? No fucking way!She turned the room they'd been in inside out in her search, but it was nowhere to be found. She was already halfway done with fixing it back up when it did occur to her that she'd last seen the box while lying in that bed with Jordan. It made a lot of sense to think that he had gone missing from the room at the same time her box had and that easily translates to it possibly being in his possession. It kinda pissed her to have him butting into her family issues without her permission, even without the confirmation that he had.Stupid, yeah, but it did embarrassment to have all her linens in his hands without any contro

  • SOMETHING ABOUT MR CEO    CHAPTER EIGHTY EIGHT

JoJo woke before Riley did, there'd been nightmares that didn't let her hold onto the oblivion for too long. She was glad Riley wasn't subjected to the same fate though that didn't hold for long. Tiny feet and big, soulful brown eyes found her sooner than she'd have liked, clouded with visible confusion and fear. "Come here, baby girl." She called to her from where she stood at the door. It did just occur to her why the room looked emptier than she last remembered it. Jordan had been with her before she'd succumbed to the luring hands of sleep. "Come." Her voice was much softer, pleading and beckoning, she didn't want force her, that could be more harmful than it'd be good. The younger girl finally gave in, and came into the room, crawling into JoJo's laps. She held her, stroking her hair, the quietness that was hanging around the house making her nauseous. Maybe it's always been this quiet with
