LilyChaise looked like he’d been slapped across the face. He moved Rachelle out of the way and stepped towards me with a look I couldn't quite decipher. My stomach curled tightly but I willed myself not to move.“What did you just say?” His voice was low and murderous. LilyI turned around to see the one person I never thought I would see so soon. Chaise’s grandmother was standing there in her usual simple yet elegant style. I stood up quickly, hurrying to her with a bright smile.“Grandma!” I threw my hands around her without caring that we were in public. I noticed that she’d put on some weight and her grip was a lot stronger now. My eyes watered. The last time she held me, her hands were barely able to make contact because they were trembling badly. “I’m so happy to see you,” I pulled away with a smile. “My table is over there, come sit with me, please?”She nodded, but there was this sadness in her soft blue eyes. I helped her to my table and pulled a seat for her. I glanced around, hoping to catch sight of her bodyguards. I didn’t want to believe she came alone in her condition, even if she didn’t like the men following her around. “What are you doing here, grandma? Lily“Pregnant?” I let out a chuckle, despite the dread curling in the depths of my stomach. “You think I'd get married to a man as spineless as Chaise? Only you would do that kind of thing.”It was a lie. This baby was one I prayed for. I thought if I just gave him a child, he would finally see me but I was just being naive.“Oh so now he’s spinless? Does it hurt that he’s standing up for me?” She smirked. “He hasn’t seen you home in days and he doesn’t even care.
