           My heart had stopped beating for a moment when I saw one of the assailants point his gun towards Jake and I didn't think twice before jumping in front of him to shield him. At first, I didn't feel anything other than relief when I heard his voice which confirmed he was okay until later when we were on our way back did I start to feel a growing stab of pain at my side, I guess the adrenaline from the near-death mission had worn off.

 

I looked down to see a spreading wet patch ad I almost passed out from the pain. I gave out a low groan not wanting to attract attention to myself, I was going to make sure everyone got back safe, and to ensure that, I need everyone to be alert including me in case of any surprises which means I couldn't make anyone panic or anymore stressed.
