AEON.My heart ached the moment I saw both Katarina and Lucas recognize and accept the bond between them. It was a totally different scene from how the bond started for me and Alexa, and I couldn’t help but feel the pain of hurting my own mate.I wish the circumstances were different. I wish our first meeting had been somehow similar to this. I hope the tears she shed were of happiness and not out of fear. But I couldn’t change anything now, and if it had to happen again, I would still do the same thing, just to save her from my father’s hands.I slipped out of the receiving room without making any noise to leave the new couple alone. I was happy for them. And if Lucas decided to mark her tonight, I had no say in it. I had to think of another way to make my plan work in my favor.I went directly to the main receiving area and saw Riley having a serious conversation with his Beta, Dominic. They both turned around to face me when they felt my presence, and I didn’t waste any time asking
AEON. Riley was nice enough to assist us with my request. He gave us two hours, and although it was short, it was enough for now. It was also for Alexa’s safety, as he had explained to her. He didn’t want any of his people to find out that he let in a rogue within their territory and allowed her to roam around. After dinner, we were shown the rooms that were assigned to us at the next building nearest to the pack house. Although two rooms were given, I placed my duffel bag in the room assigned to Alexa. Aside from the fact that I wanted to spend time with her, there was no way I would let her out of my sight and my arms tonight. I trusted Riley, but I didn’t trust anyone else. Alexa was too important for me to slack off on her security. Alexa was excited to let Serenity out, but she had no idea that I was more excited than her. I was just not showing it. Not yet. But ever since she told me she wanted to meet Riley, my mind couldn’t stop thinking about taking the chance to have her
AEON. We drove back from the forest after the allotted time Riley had given us. Although it was short, it was more than enough for Thunder and Serenity to get acquainted with each other. And it was more than enough for me to watch our wolves just be themselves and forget the turmoil that their humans were having. I was expecting that Alexa would be tired and would pass out after our wolves ran a great length of distance since Serenity was not used to being out all the time. But Alexa and her wolf surprised me with the energy and strength they had, the same way that her wolf’s aura did. Serenity was radiating an Alpha female aura, not too strong, but enough for an Alpha to identify that she came from an Alpha lineage. I believed her aura was a hint of the power and lineage her father held before he became the Alpha of the rogues. He was probably the son of an Alpha, but then I wasn’t sure because no one really knew who Achilles was or where he came from. He just appeared all of a sud
ALEXA.Aeon was holding me tightly as if he didn’t want to let me go. I was so lost in the ecstasy of our kiss that I didn’t feel we were moving until my back was slammed against the cold walls, making my body jerk and my mouth part from his lips. His hand at the back of my head coiled around my hair, tugging it down, making my head tilt up and meet his eyes. His eyes were dilating to black and I could tell he was still not calming down from whatever angered him.He licked his lips a little too loudly. His aura was deadly, but he looked too sexy, and that excited me more. He dipped his teeth into my neck, biting and nipping at my skin a bit harshly. I was sure he was leaving red marks everywhere, but I didn’t care. I wanted what he was doing to me. I liked it when he was dominating me.His hold on my hair tightened, making me gasp from the pain as I arched my back, pressing my body closer to him. He pulled away all of a sudden, and I couldn’t control the grumbling that escaped my thro
AEON. It was already almost six in the morning, and although I was not expected until eight thirty in the morning at Riley’s pack house, I wanted to have a word with him before the other Alphas started arriving. My head tilted to my side. My arm was numb because Alexa was sleeping on it, but I didn’t mind. She looked like an angel. She looked so peaceful and contented. And I wish I could wake up to this every day for the rest of my life. But I knew it was still impossible at this point. But I wasn’t giving up, especially not now. With Katarina out of my responsibility and the Alpha position not in my grasp anymore, maybe it’s time to turn around and make new decisions. I haven’t made up my mind, but if my father refused to give me my title and would have refused to let me claim Alexa, then maybe we were better off somewhere without a pack. She asked me once if I thought I would survive with the humans. I had no idea. All I knew was, that if I ended up with her, everywhere was a p
(Please be advised that this chapter with Katarina’s and Aeon’s POV should have been in between Chapter 36 and 37 - Sorry for the mix up) LADY KATARINA. Lucas: Message me when you’re done with Luna Nadia. I read his messages as I walked up the stairs. It was the fourth one he sent since we separated after dinner. I went with Nadia as we sorted out the clothes and things of Zahra and Leandro, Alpha Riley’s demise mother and stepfather, that would be kept in the storage room for a while. And then they would go through it again one day. The twins were emotional about seeing their parents’ things being boxed up, so Nadia asked for my help instead. We also had to fix things for the Alpha meeting tomorrow. Some of the Lunas will be arriving, and we’re organizing assigned rooms and table arrangements for lunch and dinner. They were not many things, but with Nadia being pregnant, Alpha Riley wanted someone to do it, but she insisted and told him she would ask for my help just so her mate
AEON. At around nine-thirty in the morning, we received a message that three cars had entered different borders in the territory with the Alphas and their Lunas. So at ten minutes before ten in the morning, we decided to come out and wait for them at the pack house front steps. Luna Nadia and Riley stood side by side, with Anya beside them. Anya, the sister of Gamma Sebastian, is the future Luna of the Green Valley Pack, Caleb’s territory. My Gamma, Edward, stood beside Gamma Sebastian behind us. Beta Dominic was manning one of the borders and coordinating security around the pack since it would be the Gammas who would join us for the security and counter-attack planning. Katarina, on the other hand, bailed out at the last minute and requested not to meet the Alphas until they were informed of our setup. She didn’t want to stand beside me while Lucas stood alone. And I understood. She has already agreed to continue with our fake engagement, and the least I could do was make thing
AEON.We were about to head inside the pack house when the sound of an approaching car erupted in the air.All our heads swung in the direction of the sound, watching as a big black SUV entered the pack house grounds.I sucked in a breath. I knew who this car belonged to.And my hunch was confirmed the moment the car door opened and he stepped out."Jacob!" Kallan exclaimed as he rushed to where he was while the others followed except for Riley, who remained standing beside me.My eyes focused on Jacob, but I couldn’t fathom his expression. He was wearing black sunglasses, hiding his eyes, but I saw him check me out for a millisecond before shifting his attention elsewhere."Haven’t seen you in a while." Kallan and the others gave him a hug as they shook hands, joking around like teenagers."Relax, he knows you’re here. So he went on his own knowledge that he would meet you here." Riley said in a calm voice before he went down the steps and greeted Jacob.I remained in my spot and ste
