"What are friends for? It’s a pleasure to help, Alpha Aeon. As long as we all get out of this alive, then I’m in." I told Aeon this in full honesty.

After meeting Alexa, I asked Nadia about her, and she didn’t hide anything about what she knew. And although I didn’t know Alexa personally, my heart broke for her. I felt guilty for being a threat to her happiness.

So I was willing to make up for it. I came here to speak with Aeon, and I wanted to ask him if we could let Alexa know I wasn’t a threat. That I meant no harm to her and their mate bond. But before I could say any of those, something hit my nose.

It was intoxicating. Addicting, I might say.

I knew my stomach rumbled earlier, a signal that I was hungry already, but this smell I was smelling was making me hungry for something else.

I was about to tell Aeon that his cologne smelled so good until I realized it wasn’t coming off his body.

And then I heard another heartbeat. Someone was in the room with us.
