(CONTINUATION OF SUZANNE’S POV).

"My mate rejected me…" Soft sobs escaped my throat, but I didn’t move my eyes away from Archie. His eyes softened, but I swore I saw relief crossing his eyes. He wanted me for himself.

He moved towards me and kneeled at the side of my bed. His hands cupped my face and his thumb wiped my tears away. "What did your family say? Are they okay with it?"

"They don’t know." I dropped my gaze down, but he didn’t withdraw his hands from my face. And I wouldn’t deny his touch was comforting me.

"When do you plan to tell them?"

"I don’t know. I don’t want to disappoint them."

"Is he an Alpha?"

I nodded my head.

"Do you know why he rejected you? And do I know him?"

"He has a chosen mate. And no, you don’t know him."

"Who is he?"

I held his hands and slowly took them away from my face. "You don’t need to know. It was too much already that I told you about it. No one knows except me."

He gave me a smile before he stood up from kneeling and sat on the side

The flashback from her diary ends here. We all know what happened after this, and I didn't have the heart to narrate it, so let's just leave it at that. Tomorrow's chapter will go back to the present. I'm sure there are still unanswered questions, but they'll be revealed as we go along. P.S. Alpha Melvin and Gustav were friends until Gustav died. It was only Riley and Caspian that were not on good terms. Also, Alpha Gustav is a gentleman and a protector, like Alpha Caspian, isn't he? Too bad he was tangled up in these lies. ♡♡♡
