Mia’s POV

The grand hall was filled with voices, all echoing harshly around me, each one another reminder of how far this had gone. Alpha Diego stood at the front, his expression unreadable as the hearing began. I stood in the center of the room, my body weak but my resolve strong.

I could hear the insults hurled my way—vicious, cutting words that made my chest tighten. “Traitor,” someone hissed. “Spy,” another sneered. The parents of Scarlet and Layla were the loudest, their anger burning through the air.

“You let her into this pack, Diego, and look what she’s done!” Scarlet’s father shouted, his finger jabbing in my direction. “She’s a disgrace to all wolves, and she’s dangerous.”

I wanted to scream, to yell back that none of it was true, but I clenched my fists and bit my tongue. Anger bubbled inside me, but I knew better than to act on it. If I lashed out now, I’d only be proving them right.

Diego raised his hand, silencing the room. “Mia, do you have anything to say in your defen

XAVIER'S POV5YEARS LATERThe car ride was silent, thick with exhaustion and unspoken regrets. I glanced around, my gaze drifting over my brothers, all lost in their thoughts. Sean rested his head against the window, eyes shut tight. Nathan rubbed his temples, clearly nursing a headache. Rolex stared straight ahead, his jaw clenched tight. We look like broken men, I thought bitterly. Four Alphas reduced to hollow shells of ourselves.Another city. Another endless cycle of conferences and empty talks. Another night without her."You think she's out there somewhere, happy without us?" Nathan finally whispered, breaking the heavy silence. My chest tightened. Five years of haunting silence, five years of empty searching. Five years without Mia.Happy without us? The thought alone makes me want to punch something. But what if she is? What if we were the problem all along?"Let's not do this again tonight," Sean muttered tiredly. "We all know the answer."Nathan shifted restlessly, trying t

Sean's POVI paced the length of the living room, my fingers twitching nervously. God, I can't even stand still anymore. Every nerve in my body is on edge. Xavier slumped in the corner armchair, his face etched with a regret I'd never seen before. Nathan and Rolex sat silently, their expressions grim, each lost in their own tangled thoughts. We hadn't spoken properly in days, not since Mia vanished without a trace. The silence was deafening, heavy with guilt and desperation. It had been months, and every attempt to find Mia had ended in frustration and heartbreak.Xavier finally spoke, his voice rough from lack of sleep, "We need to do something. Sitting here won't bring her back.""And what do you suggest?" Nathan snapped bitterly. "We've exhausted every lead. Mia made sure she left no trace behind."My fists clenched, anger boiling up inside me, mixed with a painful longing. "Maybe if we hadn't fucked up so badly, she'd still be here," I hissed, mostly to myself. The truth burns wor

Mia's POV"Don't you ever get tired of checking up on me?" I teased, pulling the throw blanket tighter around my belly as Liam placed a tray of warm soup in front of me.He chuckled, sitting beside me on the couch. "Not when you look like you're ready to pop and still pretending you're not a walking miracle.""I'm a werewolf, not a miracle," I muttered."You're both," he said, too easily.I shook my head, but I didn't argue. Over the past few weeks, I'd grown used to him—his calm presence, his gentle but never overbearing concern. Somehow, he'd managed to become a constant in my life without pushing his way in.And I liked that.More than I wanted to admit.Sometimes I wonder if this is what trust really feels like—not having to guard every corner of your heart. Not waiting for the betrayal to come.Every evening, he'd come by—sometimes with groceries, sometimes with medical books, sometimes just with stories from his pack or the clinic he'd volunteered at while undercover.Somehow, b

Liam's POVThe way Mia looked at me after I revealed the truth—it wasn't fear.It was something else.Confusion. Curiosity. Maybe even… recognition.I hadn't planned to tell her this soon, but seeing her collapse last night had changed everything. The sight of her crumpling to the floor had sent a rush of panic through me unlike anything I'd felt in years—a protective instinct that went beyond my duties as an Alpha."I know it's a lot to process," I said quietly, watching her as she sat on the edge of the bed, hand resting over her stomach protectively. "But I've known since the first time I saw you."Her eyes narrowed slightly. "You mean… the night you found me running?"I nodded. "Yeah. I knew right away you were one of us."That night was etched into my memory—the rain coming down in sheets, the scent of blood and fear cutting through the darkness. I'd been patrolling the border of my territory when I caught it—a scent that didn't belong, mingled with something primal and desperate

Mia's POVMy eyes fluttered open to soft light filtering through beige curtains. The bed beneath me was too firm, the blanket unfamiliar. I sat up quickly, my heart kicking into high alert.Where am I?I scanned the room. It was neat, minimal—dark wood furniture, a faint citrus scent in the air. Definitely not my apartment. My mind raced through foggy memories of the hallway, feeling dizzy, and then... nothing. The panic rose in my chest—had something happened to the babies? Was I in danger? After everything with the brothers, waking up in strange places triggered a fear response I couldn't control. The door creaked open, and I tensed—until I saw him.Liam.He walked in holding a tray with a glass of juice and some pills, his face calm as ever. The sight of him brought an unexpected wave of relief."You're awake," he said, relieved. "You fainted in the hallway last night.""You brought me here?" I asked, trying not to sound defensive. "To your place?" Part of me wanted to be alarmed,

MIA'S POVThe lecture hall slowly emptied, the low murmur of students fading behind me as I waited until the last person filed out. My palms felt a little sweaty, and I wasn't sure if it was nerves… or something else entirely. Part of me was still processing the shock of seeing him standing at the front of the classroom—the man who'd been so kind to me on what had been one of the worst nights of my life.He was organizing papers at the front desk when I approached. He looked up and gave me that familiar calm smile."Hey, Mia."I stopped a few feet away, clutching my notebook to my chest. "So… this is the job you mentioned?"Liam nodded, closing his folder. "Yeah. Surprise."I raised an eyebrow. "Why didn't you tell me?"His face shifted, the smile turning a little sheepish. "Honestly? I didn't want to make things awkward. I figured if I said something ahead of time, you'd feel… uncomfortable."I crossed my arms. "Well, it's still awkward." Though I couldn't deny there was something co

MIA'S POVI stared at him, stunned. "You... You're the guy who... that night..."He gave me a soft smile. "Yeah. You were in rough shape. I wasn't sure if you remembered.""I do," I breathed, my heart racing with the unexpected reconnection. "I've thought about that night more times than I can count. You—You saved my life."The memory of that terrible night flashed through my mind—the rain soaking through my clothes, the panic coursing through my veins as I ran blindly through unfamiliar streets, the crushing weight of betrayal still fresh in my chest. He chuckled, brushing a hand through his dark hair. "I don't know if I'd go that far. But I couldn't just leave you there."I realized I was still holding onto his forearm and quickly stepped back. "Sorry—I didn't mean to bump into you. Again." My cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but something about his calm presence put me at ease in a way I hadn't felt in months."Fate, maybe?" he teased lightly, eyes twinkling.A small smile tugged

Mia's POVI stood in the middle of my new living room, hands on my hips, taking in the small but cozy apartment that Daisy and I had just finished furnishing. Sunlight poured through the wide windows, catching dust motes and highlighting the pale-blue walls we'd spent all yesterday painting."What do you think?" I asked, turning to Daisy who was arranging throw pillows on our new cream-colored sofa."It's beautiful," she replied, stepping back to admire our work. "You've got yourself a real home now."I smiled faintly, feeling a strange mix of accomplishment and loss wash over me. "Yeah... a real home, finally."But it's not the home I thought I'd have. Not the one with four mates who were supposed to love me forever. The past few days had been a whirlwind of activity—shopping trips for essentials, late-night unpacking sessions, and decorating every corner of this new space. I knew what Daisy was doing—keeping me busy so my mind wouldn't wander back to them. To Sean, Nathan, Xavier, a

XAVIER'S POVStanding outside Mia's family home felt like a cruel déjà vu. This place had always symbolized our best memories—and now, our worst nightmares. The last time I stood here, she was still mine—ours. We were happy. How did everything fall apart so fast?Nathan knocked on the door again, harder this time. The tension in his shoulders matched mine exactly. Beside us, Sean paced restlessly while Rolex stared grimly at the ground. The four of us—brothers and mates to one woman—now united in our desperation. The door swung open, but it wasn't Mia's father. It was one of their pack warriors, his face a mask of barely contained hostility."Alpha Xavier," he said, his voice devoid of welcome. "You're not invited here.""We're not leaving until we see Mia's father," Nathan replied firmly, stepping slightly forward. I recognized the stubborn set of his jaw—he wouldn't back down. None of us would."He made it clear—""I don't care what he said," I snapped, stepping forward. My patience
