THE WEDDING PREPARATION

Aunty Cherry, Sally, Stacy, Tina, and Lily were meeting the wedding planner regarding the type of food that was to be served that day. Normally on the wedding day the groom’s family hosts, the wedding food expenses, and Mr. Parker insisted his girls are getting married so he should host the people who will attend the wedding. They were anticipating hosting around two hundred guests they looked for a venue that was a garden party and could accommodate even more people the designer had to hire more tents and there was enough room for a buffet and dancing in the evening because everyone was looking forward to having fun.

They were there to make a guest list for the family members and friends that would be invited and determine or estimate the number of wedding guests that would turn up for the event. The ladies were also there to choose from various wedding planners who were referred to them taking into consideration that this was the “king’s dynasty” one of the most prominent families in the capital and everyone wanted to be associated with them. If you are a wedding planner at their function and it turns out to be a success the reference you will get will be enormous and you will get a lot of referrals in the future. They settled for the wedding planner, caterers for the wedding day and dinner before the wedding day, the caterers for the bridal party and the bachelor party, and the wedding gown designer and the jeweler for the rings, the tiara, and the earrings.

Stacy said she was buying the wedding gowns, jewels for the brides, and also the rings, Aunt Cherry was to take care of the bridal party, Mr. King was hosting the dinner before the wedding day and Lewis was hosting the bachelor party. There were enough activities for everyone to get involved.

 They also created a sitting arrangement, design the invitation cards, decided on the formality and overall theme, and selected the venue. They settled for an open-air garden love the green ambiance and selected the caterers and of course, the ones who had the popular cocktail which rhymed with the wedding thyme.  They choose the color thyme purple and started discussing the overall design. They also met the florist who was Stacy’s old friend with the wedding planner they had to choose and also the venue coordinator choose the flowers they would Love to be used including the petals that were to be used by the flower girls to throw on the bridal path on her way to church and the reception. Other ideas were to cooperate in the process as the preparation came along. They were taken by the wedding planner to several vendors in charge of photography, DJ, and videography for both the family dinner and the wedding reception. They went and were invited by the caterer to sample the food for the buffet and also the wedding cake and choose the flavor that each bride would prefer. 

The selection of the wedding dresses was the last step they went to different wedding dress boutiques to sample what was in the market and they were shown different designs by the salesgirl because they never wanted to identify them. To choose the wedding dresses the work was left to the brides to see what was appropriate and tina and Lily hoped from one shop to another looking for the ideal dress for each bride. Tina had seen a design online that she wanted to try but unfortunately, it had to be shipped from abroad and might take more time for delivery. Another salesgirl was a snob and when she saw them undecided she went directly to Lily and Tina and rudely told them that she was busy and that if they had nothing to do they might as well go to a cheaper mall in their class. Another salesgirl who saw their supervisor being rude the clients came to their rescue trying to explain that what they had was old stock and the new designs would be arriving soon and asking Tina for their contact so that she could once the gowns arrived. When Tina went to explain that they needed a beautiful gown, dinner dresses, and nightgown that can be used for the honeymoon the snob supervisor came back again and told the sales girl to serve people with money, not beggars. This angered Tina who went to complain to the manager who had been referred to by Stacy but before they finished arguing now Lily was very hurt and was shouting at top of her voice over the inappropriate behavior towards the sales lady and called Stacy who was a few blocks away to come to that specific mall and to be fast. Stacy and aunty Cherry, who was in the neighborhood, came soon, only to find Lily very annoyed and shouting at the top of her voice. How can you just judge people even without trying to hear them, does it mean you serve people who are dressed only expensively is this the way you treat your customers? We were not coming to beg you to give us the bridal gown but the way you behaved it is very disappointing. You don’t know who we are by the end of today you will never treat any other client with disrespect. The rude lady continued saying without hesitation ladies please leave the boutique it is not for your class go and borrow your sister their previous gowns when she was talking to them Stacy walked in and heard what she was saying and became disgusted. She took a phone and took a video of the lady being rude and harassing her in-laws and sent it to the owner.

The owner who was on the way became very annoyed and drove the car very fast to the boutique when she saw the supervisor’s rude behavior already on record. She called her manager and the head of security who confirmed that she was in wrong after checking the cameras and the owner apologized personally to Lily and Tina.  The rude lady was escorted out and was informed to wait for her check since she was fired she tried apologizing trying to use the excuse that she didn’t know the ladies were relatives of Mrs. King. The manager told her that was not the way to treat any client irrespective of their social status and called Lily and Tina to her office and chose two special dresses she had designed for a special client. They were requested to fit and the gowns were extraordinary only a few clients had each specific design and the necessary arrangements would be done. 

The ladies were given a glass of special wine and treated to VIP status and the ladies cooled down and went home after a long day.
