I collapsed onto Aziel’s bed. It had been hours of shopping with Kade. And I had little to show for it. Kade, on the other hand, had more bags than we could fit into the trunk of the car. We ended up stacking them in the back seat of his car. It was pure insanity that someone could need that many clothes. Then, after it was all over, I decided to move into Aziel’s room. Which took me even more time, even with the little I did have, because his room was such a neat freak disaster, and I didn’t know how to fit into it. When I had finally convinced myself to come out of the bathroom the previous night. I had found Aziel already asleep in bed. I had tried to nudge him awake, but I was unsuccessful. Instead, I curled up into the bed next to him. Waking up in the morning was tough. I was so warm and comfortable sheltered in his arms. Moving around I started to wake up a little more. A muffled groan met my movement, and something was hard against my hip. Realizing what it was, I jumped out of bed and fell on the floor. Laughter met my sudden departure. Leaning over the bed Aziel looked down at me.“Comfortable?” He laughed.Getting up slowly, I rubbed my sore bottom. “That’s one way to wake up in the morning.” Looking down at him on the bed, I could see the offensive bulge in his boxers. “Put that thing away before you hurt someone.”Looking down at himself, he started to laugh harder. “It’s not like I can help it!”“Mhm. Running along the trails, we took a break in the cleaning with the pond. Taking my shoes off, I dipped my feet into the water to cool them down. “Are you going to get in too?” I looked over at Aziel, he was just in a pair of shorts and shoes. He looked like a Greek God who just stepped off Mount Olympus. Smiling at me, he kicked is shoes off and steps into the pond.“Are you ready to help me with all the preparations?” He glances over at me with an intense look in his cold blue eyes. I wonder for a second what would happen if I said no and backed out of helping.“Yes. It’ll be nice to see more of this little town and not just the shopping centers.” I put on a face remembering the pain from yesterday. I felt warm, but not overly warm. There is something hard, but comfortable underneath me. I feel like I’m floating on a cloud. But I came crashing back to earth when I realize I don’t have any clothes on. Shooting up out of bed, I run to the bathroom. Breathing heavily. Memories come back to me, and I turn a deep shade of red. Looking at myself in the mirror, I don’t look any different, but I feel so strange. Walking over to the shower I turn it on and hop in. The cold water feels good on my skin after a night of burning. Hearing a knock at the door, I turn to look at it and watch as Aziel walks in. Turning back to the water, I locate the shampoo and lather up my hair. Hearing the shower door open, I turn back around to look at Aziel. “Good morning.” “Good morning.” I turn up the heat to the shower and rinse my hair out. Moving out of the way, I grab a wash rag, wet it, and get the body wash. As I lather that up into a fine foam, I move around Aziel to stand next to the wall so he c

I had finally shifted bac when Vix got tired of running. Looking around, I found myself in the clearing with the pond. Walking over to it, I sat down on the edge letting my feet dangle in the water. I had no care for my naked state sitting there out in the open. The wind through the trees felt nice and I couldn’t hold back my raging thoughts anymore.I needed to get the ring. It had been a month since I came back. Nothing had changed within the Skulk. I had given my mother the ring and left her presence. I couldn’t find it in me to look her in the eyes. She knows what she has done to me. What I have given up for my people.Sighing, I look down at the pregnancy test. It had been over a month, and I still hadn’t had my period. Thinking back, I should have been smarter about this. I should have been on birth control, but who thinks they’ll meet their mate on a covert mission? Two lines slowly form on the test, and I feel the tears in my eyes. I can’t believe this is happening. Grabbing another test out of the box, I turn to the toilet. Just five more. The pain was steadily increasing as the time passed. But it still felt like I was a way out from getting this baby out of me. Aziel had called about an hour ago and said they landed, but I know it takes an hour to get from Dallas to us. They should be here any time now and I couldn’t wait to see Aziel’s face.
