Se connecter“Luna Sameen!” Dana exclaimed with urgency and I sprang up from my sleep with a foggy vision which cleared after a couple of blinking. “It's Lucy, she's in grave danger.”
Panic set in as I heard she was in danger, but snorted when I remembered how badly she treated me.
“Tell that to her father,” I hissed, laying back on the bed.
After the argument I had with Ken, I decided to take a nap to ease my nerves.
“She had an accident and has been crying that she wants to see her mother, Sameen,” Dana said, and it tugged the strings of my heart.
“Accident?” I echoed, heart skipping a beat. I rose again, asking for where she currently was.
“Follow me.”Dana spun and led the way, while I tailed behind her.
As soon as we got out of the packhouse, Dana began to run, and I mirrored her movements, desperately wanting to help Lucy.
The moment we got into the woods, my brows knitted into a frown of confusion. “What brought Lucy all the way to the woods?”
“Hurry, there's no time. She has refused for anyone that isn't you to touch her and she's bleeding without healing,” Dana revealed and my stomach clenched in anxiety.
I sighted Lucy on the floor, wailing in pain. My heart fluttered with mothering sympathy and the urge to protect her filled my bones.
Hurriedly, I reached where she was lying on the ground, crouching beside her body. Leaning down to pick up her body, she moved swiftly, tossing a liquid against my face.
It burned my skin, making a sizzling sound as it ate my face. I screamed out my lungs, shivering in sheer pain as I staggered back, cradling my face in my palms.
“Since dad doesn't want to get rid of you, I'll do it,” Lucy said in a sinister voice. “Thanks, Dana for the awesome idea.”
“Oh, shut your pathetic mouth,” Dana hissed.
A pair of fingers dug into my hair and gripped the strands tight, pulling back my head. I tried to fight back, but she overpowered me by holding a dagger over my neck.
I thrashed my hands to fight. “What did I ever do to you?”
“You took my place, you bitch! I was meant to get married to Ken and be Lucy's mother, but he chose a filthy omega like you and said it was to compensate him for the debt your miserable grandmother owed him,” Dana revealed with bitterness.
“He doesn't even love me. I don't love him either. I tried to get him to sign the bond termination papers but he refused,” I confessed.
“Meaning he loves you, and if I don't get you out of the way, he'll never love me,” Dana stated in a sinister tone.
“If you let me go, I'll run away and never come back,” I promised her, heart racing in my chest and threatening to break out of my ribcage.
“And have him find you? No way,” she snapped before I felt a sharp prick in my arm. “Goodnight sweetheart.”
Dana shoved me to the ground. I struggled to stand, but the ground spun under my feet. Glancing at my arm, a syringe hung on it.
“What–what is this?” I asked with a blurry slight.
“Wolfsbane,” she said, and cold wracked through me.
I fell to the ground, and pain spiderwebbed my entire body.
“Little devil,” I managed to say before looking back at Dana and growling, “You will pay for this!”
With that, I released my muscles and shut my eyes, letting the throes of darkness snatch me away.

The sound of the steady ticking of the clock and the pungent smell of antiseptic roused me from my sleep with a sneeze.
I snapped my eyes open to a foggy vision of a white ceiling.
“You're finally awake,” a baritone voice said, and I tilted my head in his direction.
“Mate!” My wolf exclaimed when I locked gazes with unfamiliar blue eyes.
I sprang up, cowering against the wall, but winced when I mistakenly hit the IV connected to the back of my palm.
“Relax, I'm not here to hurt you,” he assured me, raising both of his hands in surrender. “I'll call a nurse to fix that.” He referred to my hand as he tapped on a remote to summon a nurse.
“Who are you?” I questioned, trying to be strong amidst the terrible headache and body pains.
“It is me. Alpha Orion of the Obsidian pack,” he introduced himself.
“And our mate,” my wolf added in my head, but I ignored her and the burning sensation on my face. My heart hammered against my chest.
“Where am I? What am I doing here? How did–”
“Hey, take a deep breath. You need to calm down. You had a surgery two months ago and need to relax for it to heal,” he said.
“What surgery? Why two months?” I threw numerous questions at him.
Before he could answer my question, a nurse stepped into the room, shifting our attention. She inspected the syringe in my hand and adjusted it.
“I need to use the restroom,” I said, and she helped me into the bathroom.
Just as I glanced at the mirror, my eyes widened and an ear-splitting scream flew out of my lips.
“Who is that?” I asked, pointing at the unfamiliar face in the mirror.
|Ray/Sameen's pov|“The alpha sends for you,” one of the guards announced, offering me a curt bow. I nodded, waving my hand to dismiss him. With that, he walked out of my room and I climbed off my bed, heading down the hallway, letting Orion’s scent draw me to where he was.I knocked once I arrived in front of the door and he granted me entrance. The evening air carried a heavy stillness as I walked into Orion’s study. The fire in the hearth was burning low, shadows stretching across the walls like restless spirits. He was seated behind his desk, his head bent over papers, though I doubted he was actually reading them. His jaw was tense, and the silence between us felt louder than any words.I stood for a moment, unsure how to begin. This was not just about him and me, it was about our people, our land, and a peace that could so easily break.“You wanted to see me,” I said softly.Orion finally looked up, his eyes sharp and guarded. For a brief second, the stern Alpha vanished, repl
Orion’s POVThe guards dragged the man in, his head still covered, his body trembling as though every step toward me was a march to his death. I stood in the center of the hall, my arms folded across my chest, my eyes locked on him with the full weight of my authority.“Remove the cover,” I ordered. At once, the cloth was yanked off. The man blinked rapidly against the firelight, his face pale with fear. He looked older than I expected, his clothes rough and torn, though not from battle, more from days of hard labor. His hands shook as he tried to steady himself under my stare.I stepped forward, close enough that he had to tilt his head back to meet my gaze. “You dare build on my land?” I demanded, my voice echoing across the chamber. “Explain yourself before I end you here.”The man fell to his knees, his voice trembling. “I—I meant no offense, Alpha. I swear it. The land… it’s mine. I bought it fair and square.”The words halted me mid-step. My eyes narrowed. “Bought it?” I repeate
“I doubt you do,” he answered then played with the baby that was in my hands. His face looked familiar the moment he stepped into the nursery. At first, I couldn’t place him. There were dozens of men I had seen before, and faces often blurred together. But this one… there was something sharp in the lines of his jaw, something in the way he carried himself that struck me. My arms tightened slightly around the baby I was holding, though I tried to look calm.I searched his features, watching as his eyes softened at the sight of the child. And then it clicked. He was from Ken’s pack. All the air left my lungs and my heart thumped in my chest. Had Ken sent him here to get me or what was it? I swallowed, maintaining my composure.Confusion stirred in me, a tangled knot of questions. This wasn’t his territory. He shouldn’t have even been close enough to walk into this nursery. My mind raced, but I forced myself to stand still, rocking the baby gently in my arms as if nothing unusual was h
It was a new morning, and I sat on the edge of the bed, watching my maid sweep the corners of my room with practiced ease.I had imagined that being reborn into another body would be strange, but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer weight of it. Every day, people called me Raya as if that had always been my name. They looked at me with warmth and familiarity, expecting me to slip seamlessly into her skin. But beneath their smiles, I felt like a fraud, a stranger pretending to belong. If I was going to survive here, I needed to know who Raya truly was. I couldn’t fake forever. I needed to learn her habits, her character, the places she loved most. Only then could I convince others and maybe myself that I belonged in this body.“I’m bored,” I muttered, breaking the silence.Tana glanced at me over her shoulder, amusement tugging at her lips. “That’s a first.” She smoothed the duvet with deliberate care, her eyes sparkling like she knew something I didn’t.“Then suggest somethin
|Orion Blackwood|The room was charged with heat when Alex barged in. I could still feel Raya’s lips on mine, the taste of her breath lingering, her body trembling slightly under my hands. She pulled back quickly, cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but before the awkwardness could settle too deep, I leaned in and kissed her once more. The kiss was firm, claiming, refusing to let Alex’s interruption stop what had just happened. Her eyes widened in shock, but she didn’t resist. That alone was enough to make my chest burn with something I couldn’t name.I broke the kiss, then turned, my gaze snapping to Alex, my voice sharp as a blade. “This better be good.”Alex shifted uncomfortably in the doorway, guilt flickering across his face. “I wouldn’t have disturbed if it wasn’t important.”I moved back to my chair, lowering myself with deliberate calm even though my blood was still pounding from the kiss. I leaned back, resting an arm on the armrest, eyes fixed on him. “Then speak.”He steppe
|Raya/Sameen|“Yeah, I’ve tried everything I know but it’s not working,” I admitted, rubbing the back of my neck as I explained to Alex after asking him how to make Orion happy.“Well, give him a glass of alcohol and massage his shoulders to ease the tension,” Alex suggested, then chuckled.“Would that help?” I inquired and he nodded.“Or you can stuff his mouth with your…” he trailed off, wiggling his brows.“Alex,” I called in shock, heat spreading across my cheeks. Alex’s eyes darkened, then his smile disappeared from his face. “On a serious note, he loves you, Raya. You’ve changed. You’re not your usual playful self. What’s going on?”I fidgeted with the hem of my dress, unsure of what to say to him. “Okay, I understand you just got out of a coma, but don’t push Orion away. Out of the many alphas I know, he’s the kind you wouldn’t want to lose. He adores you,” Alex advised, and I offered him a tight-lipped smile. “Thank you,” I said, then stayed there for a bit, watching him tr
