SAPPHIRE.

I did not imagine my life would be so short.

Devastatingly sad? yes.

But not short.

I had seen it all happen, as the boiling hot water scalded his skin, as the Alpha jumped to his feet, his eyes wide in rage.

Maybe it was utter foolery, wishing myself long life.

But no one truly wants to die.

“Are you insane!” He practically roared, his teeth sharpened to threatening lengths, his nose morphing to a snout as he growled, his wolf taking form slowly.

I took a step back, as if I had been the one burnt, my eyes widened to saucers as the blood within my veins froze to solids.

“SILENCE!” He cut me off before I could even attempt an apology, his skin darkening in color and thickening in texture as he turned. “You filthy vermin.”
