Shadows in the Snow

The blizzard roared like a beast unchained, swallowing the landscape in a white abyss. Every tree looked like a twisted specter under the moonlight. Every howl in the distance sounded too close.

Ayla pressed herself against Kael’s side, the thick fur cloak he’d thrown over her shielding her from the worst of the cold. But it wasn’t the temperature making her tremble.

It was the silence between them.

“What’s happening, Kael?” she asked, voice nearly lost in the wind.

He didn’t look at her. His jaw was tight, eyes narrowed as he scanned the snowy trail ahead. They’d been walking for an hour—no guards, no sleds, no signs of pursuit. Only the prints they left behind, slowly being devoured by falling snow.

“There’s magic in the wind tonight,” he murmured, more to himself than to her. “Old magic. Feral.”

Ayla’s hand instinctively went to her chest. The pendant glowed faintly against her skin again, warm even in the icy storm. It had only ever pulsed when something danger

The Enemy in Her BloodRain pounded against the stone walls of the fortress as thunder rolled in the distance. The mountain storm mirrored the tension coursing through the Lycan King’s veins. Thorne stood by the tall arched window in the war room, jaw clenched, his golden eyes fixed on the horizon. They’d made it through the last wave of attacks from the rogue coven—but something still felt wrong.Behind him, Kael and two of the Beta commanders stood in tense silence. Maps littered the table, marked with sigils, blood-stained notes, and claw-dragged routes of recent enemy movements. But Thorne wasn’t looking at the maps.He was thinking about her.About Seraphina. She was supposed to be safe in the West Wing, protected by wards and warriors. But ever since the night of the blood moon, things had shifted. Something inside her had begun to stir—something darker than just her untamed magic.“I can feel her,” Thorne muttered, the words barely audible. “Something’s not right.”Kael exchang

The Moon's DecreeThe cold wind that swept through the ravine was unnaturally sharp, biting into Mira’s skin like a warning. She should’ve turned back, should’ve obeyed the Lycan guards who told her not to leave the palace walls—not now, not with the king away. But the pull had been too strong. Something had whispered her name in the dead of night, dragging her from the warmth of the silk-laced bed and into the shadows beyond the courtyard. And now here she stood, breath fogging in the night air, heart pounding beneath the thin linen cloak. She wasn't alone. At first, she thought the sound was just her own heartbeat echoing through the rocks, but then she heard it again—soft, deliberate footsteps. Not animal. Not wolf. Human.Mira turned slowly, every nerve in her body alert.A woman emerged from the trees. She was draped in a veil of midnight silk, her eyes glowing faintly with an unnatural hue. Her presence commanded silence. Danger. Royalty.“You’ve come far too early,” the woman s

Blood Oaths and Broken TruthsThe cold night air stung Marisol’s skin as she stood just beyond the stone circle, her breath curling in the dark like smoke from a dying flame. The forest behind her whispered secrets through rustling leaves, but her attention was fixed on the altar in the clearing—where Killian knelt. He was shirtless, his chest smeared with streaks of ash and blood. His head was bowed, raven hair falling into his face, but even from this distance, she could see his muscles trembling—not from weakness, but restraint. The ancient wolves of the High Council stood in a semicircle around him, each bearing the mark of an Alpha carved into their flesh. Their chants thrummed through the clearing like war drums, ancient and fierce. Runes shimmered faintly beneath their feet. Magic older than memory.Killian was invoking the Oath of Sacros, a blood vow so binding that even death wouldn’t sever it.Marisol stepped forward instinctively—but Gabriel, now wearing the crest of the So

The Blood OathRain lashed against the high windows of the Lycan King’s fortress as Selene stood facing the towering stone wall of her chambers, her fingers trembling. The mark on her shoulder pulsed with heat—not pain, but something else. A pull. A signal.A warning. She clenched the edge of the table, steadying her breath as her mind replayed the vision that had just struck her. It had come without warning—a flash of silver eyes, cloaked in shadow. And blood. So much blood. The face wasn’t familiar, but the voice was.“You’re not the only one he claimed.”Behind her, the door slammed open.“Selene,” Lucien growled, his voice low but fierce. “You felt it too?”She turned to him slowly. His chest was bare, the crimson runes on his skin glowing faintly. His eyes weren’t the golden amber she knew. They were near black, the beast close to the surface.“I saw someone,” she whispered. “She said she belonged to you.”Lucien flinched. It was subtle, but she saw it. A crack in the armor. He s

The Crimson PactRain lashed against the palace walls like furious whispers of the past trying to claw their way into the present. Inside the ancient stone halls, the air buzzed with tension. The Council Chamber, once a place of decisions and diplomacy, now crackled with the low growls of power struggles and whispered betrayals.Seraphina sat rigid in the Lycan throne, eyes locked with the circle of elders surrounding her. She wasn’t supposed to be here—at least not without Cassian beside her. But Cassian was gone. Not kidnapped, not banished—worse. He left.No word. No goodbye. Only a single, sealed note left on her bed that read: "I must bury the past before I can protect our future." Nothing more. Her fingers clutched the hilt of the ceremonial dagger at her hip, its obsidian edge glinting under the torches. The blade wasn’t just a symbol of her position—it was a promise. One she made to herself when she entered this world: Never be powerless again.“You cannot delay the Blood Rite

The Witch's BargainThe sky burned with violet fire.Amara jerked her head up, heart crashing against her ribs, as the earth rumbled beneath her bare feet. From the eastern ridge of the mountain, a pulse of unnatural energy sliced through the clouds, turning night into something else entirely—something not meant for this world.Kael threw his arm across her, pulling her back instinctively, his eyes glowing silver. “That’s not a storm,” he said, voice low, ragged.“No,” Amara whispered, “It’s her.”Before Kael could answer, a figure cloaked in shadow rose from the cliff’s edge. She walked with the elegance of a queen and the menace of a blade unsheathed. Her long silver hair swirled unnaturally in the windless air. Eyes like ink — bottomless, unyielding.“Ravena,” Kael growled.Amara tensed. The name was a curse Kael rarely spoke aloud. Ravena, the high witch of the old blood. The one Kael had once trusted before her betrayal burned half his kingdom to ash.“You should’ve stayed buried

Shadows of the Blood PactThe cave walls dripped with an eerie silence as the flames from the torches flickered against the damp stone. Raine’s pulse was erratic, thudding in her throat as she stood in the sacred chamber, just behind Kael. His bare back was laced with new wounds—runes carved into his flesh from the Blood Binding ritual he’d performed minutes earlier. She didn’t know which disturbed her more—the magic laced through the chamber or the look in Kael’s eyes afterward. Distant. Hollow.“You shouldn’t have come here,” Kael said, voice rasping like gravel. “Not yet.”“You said you needed me.” Raine took a shaky step forward, gripping her arms to hide the trembling. “I’m not leaving you to bleed alone.”Kael turned, eyes glowing an unnatural shade of crimson. “This place…it’s awakening something old. Something even I don’t understand.”Before she could respond, a deep tremor rippled through the floor. The torches along the walls blinked out one by one until only the altar’s dy
