"So I'm the exception?" I asked again the next day.

He placed the plate of ham and bacon on the table before reaching down the table and holding it with both hands. He hissed a little and seemed to hide the smile that wanted to escape from his lips.

"You are the victim—"

I raised an eyebrow causing him to stop, "Your victim, Delton. You captured—"

"Savvy, I told you, you are not part of the plan." He moaned softly, as if he was fed up with our conversation like this.

I laughed weakly and bit my lip a little, "Ashley and you are planning this, right? Is your secretary an accomplice?" I continue.

"Damn, Baby," he softly moaned again, "Ashley was out of it—"

"So you're defending her?" I asked with a raised eyebrow before folding my arms in front of him.

He cursed again and closed his eyes tightly. Stand up straight and face me. He gently touched both of my shoulders.

"She's just like a sister to me. I don't know everything Ashley did, and I'm not sure if she likes me. If only I knew—"
