Samantha's POV.

"Uhm... It's nothing." I replied, quickly covering up my neck with my hair.

"That sure looks strange," she commented and I let out nervous laughter although I could hear my own heart beating hard and fast against my ribcages.

"It is not so strange, just a mark in my family, the friends I made in street told me it has always been there." I cooked up a quick lie hoping it was believable enough.

I did not want anyone in this place finding out my identity as a slave, I might be treated as one again... And who in the world is proud of being tagged a slave?

"Really? Your family must have been unique, the mark looks cool," she replied.

If only she knew the pains and burdens that the mark brought along, she would never, never refer to it as cool. Cool was the last word one would use to describe the situation I was in.

"Maybe, I don't know them," I replied and that was not a lie.

I don't know how any of my family looks like, I only have some descriptions
