ADRIANNA’S POV

“Eat to your fill, whatever you want. It’s my way of saying welcome! Because you might not get the chance again,” he said close to my ear, giving my shoulders a playful squeeze. All the proximity and touching was making my stomach churn like I swallowed vomit. I’ll give anything to avoid his touch. Anything to avoid him entirely.

Throughout the dinner, I sat, huddled in my seat as though I was poured a bucketful of ice water. I stared intently at my meal, making no effort to look up or grab a fork and eat.

The meal was well prepared and visually stunning with flavours that could make anyone's mouth water. Not to mention I hadn’t eaten since morning. I just woke up only to be caught up in a situation I knew nothing about before being sold cruelly to this man.
