Chapter 7 Confusing words

What did he mean by he was going to help me get enough of him and it was going to happen gradually? Of course I couldn't ask him that. I had already bombarded him with enough questions for the night and I thought he deserved a moment of peace and quiet.

We continued quietly until we got to the town square.

The cheering sounds of the people became more audible as we had now neared the center of the celebration. There was just so much going on; the vibrating sounds of drum beats filled the air, young women danced to the melody of the music in feather outfits swaying their hips from side to side, the older women played the timbres and cymbals, clapping their hands and stomping their feet on the ground in rhythm of the music. Stunt men performed all sorts of tricks -- like taking fire into his mouth and spitting it out into the air while the people cheered on. Children giggled and wiggled their way through the crowd playing and having their own kind of fun and so many other interesting things that were happening all at once. Even I was impressed at the ongoing celebration as I couldn't hide my smile.

Talon held my hand and we paved our way through the crowd. I was so tempted to tell him that we should stay for the party but I was already weak in my bones from all the things I had experienced that night. We had been trekking for long and I could literally feel my ankles and the back of my feet strain due to the stress. And yes, my almighty precious princess dress had now been ruined and if I stayed, celebrating with them in that way, they would notice it right away and maybe assume that I just escaped a criminal dungeon.

It was just better to follow him to wherever it was he wanted to take me to. But goddamn it, these people were having fun and I just wished that I could partake.

I was so engrossed in what the people were doing that I didn't notice that Talon had been staring at me.

"Don't worry. Whether you will join them for the next ceremony all depends on you," Talon said, his voice bringing my attention back to him.

"Sorry what?"

He smirked and we continued to move away from the crowd and the celebration ground completely. If there was anything I noticed, it was the fact that all eyes were on Talon. The eyes of the young females drooling lustfully for him with murmurs and whisperings filling the atmosphere. The old ones greeted him calling him "my lord" and "Alpha Talon" while Talon just waved at them. At least I was right – he was Alpha after all. As for the young ladies, some gathered in groups with their hands folded as they stared at the both of us. I could see the scorn in their eyes for me especially as they saw him holding my hand. I was sure that they were wondering why their Lord was holding the hands of a girl whose clothes were torn and looked like a complete mess.

It wasn't like I had anything to do with him or something so why would they stare at me with such hate. Is this the way they welcomed strangers to their land? Of course I wasn't going to tolerate them staring at me like I was some garbage so I stared back the same way at them, sticking my tongue out mockingly. I could clearly hear them gasp at my act. Serves the right. At least they won't have to act that way again when they see me again(that was if they were going to recognize me).

We finally left the town square and appeared at a more quiet terrain. Though we could still hear the sounds of the ongoing celebration, it wasn't as audible as before.

"There," Talon pointed at a mighty house that sat beautifully at the center of the profile. "That is where I and my pack reside."

"Your pack?" I inquired.

"Yes, my pack. I believe some of them have gone for the ceremony. As soon as the ceremony is over and they come back to the house, I shall introduce them to you and you to them."

Honestly, I didn't know how to feel about that. Should I be excited or not? Aside from my pack, The Blue Moon Pack, I have never really had a good experience with other packs. As far as I know, Alphas and Betas of other packs were aggressive, flirty and perverted. Sick souls that only cared about satisfying themselves with any female they could lay their hands on.

The reverse was the case for me in Crescida as King Avalon made sure to preserve me from the lustful eyes of the men. He wanted to preserve my chastity for his son and that was simply because of my rank as a Luna by birth and my class as well. Despite everything I was still acknowledged as the daughter of King Devon Hale and Princess of the now dead kingdom, Porthove.

Unlike my counterparts who had already been defiled and turned to sex slaves and labor maidens, I hadn't known any man and I didn't know what sex was like. I just hoped that it would be the same in this place, Ascot, and his pack wouldn't be as debauched as Demilune Pack. Goodness gracious, I hated those people.

"Let's go inside." Talon said, shifting me back to reality. "You need to clean up. Would you like to watch?"

"Watch... Watch what?" I was very confused as I didn't seem to understand what he was talking about right now. Was there something interesting that was happening inside that would catch my attention?

"I believe that some of my Omegas are already out there. You should be in sight so that you can be comfortable."

The more he spoke the more confused I was. What was this young man talking about right now? If not that I have been with him all through, I would have assumed that he was drunk and speaking gibberish right now. But no, he wasn't.

"I do not understand the words you speak, Talon. What are you talking about?" I inquired and instead of a response, I got a deep stare from him. I had to withdraw my face backwards as it seemed as if he was going to swallow me.

"You are tired, Tania. You need to rest," he told me and began to walk towards the house.

Was he joking right now? It was him that needed rest and not me. It wasn't like I wasn't tired but at least I wasn't saying meaningless things just like him.

"Wait for me," I held out my hand and then followed.

Tania's POVOh, Talon," I whispered, my heart swelling with a mix of emotions. His words resonate deeply within me, unraveling the layers of pain and sacrifice he had endured. The weight of his past struggles became palpable, and I realized how profoundly he had suffered for the sake of a kingdom that was not his own. Talon's selflessness and unwavering determination painted him as a true embodiment of love.Without hesitation, I enveloped him in a tender embrace, seeking to provide solace and comfort. Tears welled in my eyes as I realized the magnitude of his sacrifice and the pain he had carried silently. I couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret for my initial overreaction, for not taking the time to hear his side of the story. If only I had known that it was my own kingdom he had fought to protect, I would never have fled from his side. With a heavy heart, I uttered an apology, the words pouring forth with sincerity. I expressed remorse for not giving him the chance to share his

Tania's POVFor the first time in seven years I felt like I belonged. Crescida, a land which was my worst nightmare before, had become a place similar to home. All these were made possible because of our determination to get things right and I am grateful for it.Talon and I strolled through the kingdom of Crescida, the cobblestone streets beneath our feet echoing with each step. The bustling marketplaces and lively taverns slowly faded into the background as we ventured beyond the familiar paths. Tall stone buildings and intricately carved archways lined our way, whispering tales of the kingdom's storied past.As we wandered, the ambiance shifted. The air grew cooler, carrying with it the scent of moss and damp earth. We followed a meandering path that led us away from the town, guided by the whispers of rustling leaves and the distant sound of flowing water.Soon, we found ourselves ascending a rugged mountain, its slopes adorned with ancient trees and lush vegetation. The hike was

Tania's POVI could hardly believe my eyes as we breached the gates of Crescida. The sight that awaited us in the city square was heart-wrenching and ignited an inferno of rage within me. There, in the center, stood Talon, my lover, the leader of Ascot and beacon of hope for my people's freedom, bound to a stake, his body marked by cruel lashes. The crowds jeered and mocked, reveling in his humiliation. How could they do that to their own?Fury surged through my veins, and I sprinted towards Talon, my heart pounding in my chest. "Tania," he called out but I ignored, my sole focus was only to free him. The ropes that constricted him strained against his struggles, a twisted symbol of his captivity. I drew my blade with a determined hand, slashing through the ropes that held him captive. Each cut felt like a strike against the tyranny that had oppressed our people for far too long.As the ropes fell away, I cradled Talon in my trembling arms, my hands a mixture of anger and tenderness
