The boy with messy black hair and profoundly blue eyes launched himself forward as the ring of lightning above began to shower sparks over the battlefield.
As Tamashi raced towards the white-haired Seishin of Lightning, Rai threw his hands to his sides and began to cackle.
“SO THAT’S HOW YOU’RE GONNA START? YOU COULDN’T BE ANY MORE OBVIOUS, TAMAYO! GET READY TO GET YOUR ASS KICKED!”
Rai reared back his right arm, drawing lightning into his clenched fist. Tamashi reacted by launching himself off the ground, sending himself speeding through the air.
“YOU BETTER DODGE, TAMAYO!”
“Nah, I don’t think I will.”

The girl opened her eyes to reveal a bright yellow shine. She glanced around the room - first, the ceiling, then, around the room. She was in a hospital room. A bright, oversized moon occupied the sky, surrounded by millions of glistening stars. Below the shine of the moon was a field filled with nothing but tall grass. Within the field stood a man with short black hair and a scruffy beard, armed with a sword in hand. His mouth formed a devilish grin as he raised his sword. “You think you can beat me? Please. I’ve been a master of the sword since I was a kid. To think that I would be defeated by some random woman is laughable.” Standing a distance away was a woman with a slender build and shoulder-length black hair. Her weapon of choice was a small knife. She formulated her response as she tied her hair into a ponytail. “You haven’t realized that this woman you’re talking to has in fact defeated every one of your friends.
