2. Better Say No!

Author's POV

Sarah wasn't ready to back out in this situation. She wasn't going to compromise with her son's life.

Skyler frowned at Xavier as he walked towards Sarah. Xavier knelt in front of Sarah as she was sitting on the sofa.

"Baby, why are you so angry... I know what I am doing. Talk to me instead of running away from me..."

Xavier held her hands gently. 

Skyler stood there with hands in pockets, he only see his father this gentle when he is with his mother. Xavier turns extra soft for Sarah and Skyler take it as a sign of weakness. He could see how easily Sarah can influence Xavier's decisions and how much strong impact she has on him. Skyler refused to give this power to someone else. He thinks that love control people and he wasn't ready to give his control to anyone. The thought of having someone else's impact on him makes him cringe. 

He wasn't really fan of his parents relationship but he was fine as long as Sarah is happy. 

"Marriage is not a deal..."

Sarah countered. 

"Ofcourse it isn't... This is not a deal. That's why I was telling you to hear me out first but you listened half things and came to the conclusion..."

Xavier squeezed her hands assuringly and Sarah frowned.

"Then what does it mean?"

She asked. 

"I am forcing Skyler in this marriage... He is in love with Rosetta..."

Xavier declared and Skyler raised his eyebrows. He himself has no idea what his father is talking about but he Decided to stay silent until he figure out what is the situation. 

Sarah frowned.

"What?... Skyler is in love with her..."

Xavier nodded and tilted his head towards Skyler Giving him a look which demanded agreement.

"Isn't it Skyler?"

Skyler nodded.

"Yes mom... I wanted to give you surprize..."

He agreed and Xavier smiled. 

"Do you trust me now?..."

Xavier asked but Sarah was still suspicious.

Sarah stood up from the sofa.

"Fine... If he really loves her then, no problem..."

She said. 

"I need to talk to him, can you give us a moment..."

Xavier stated and Sarah nodded.

"I love you.."

Xavier kissed her cheek. 

Sarah Scowled playfully.

"I hate you..."

And was about to walk away but Xavier grabbed her arm and pulled her closer.

She gasped as she landed on his hard chest.

"Dad!"

Skyler countered and stepped forward as he thought that Xavier was too rough. 

Xavier held his hand in front of him.

"She is my wife, stay away..."

Xavier declared. He cupped Sarah's face possessively.

"This is not a joke baby... You know I don't like this kind of jokes... Say you love me!..."

He demanded.

Skyler stood there with the look of disbelief. He couldn't understand the possessiveness. Why there is so much obsession even after so many years. Skyler is watching them for years but still he couldn't understand their relationship. He was not fan of his father's possessive behavior. 

'If this shit is love then I don't need this in my life...'

He looked away from them. 

"I am sorry... You know I love you..."

Sarah pecked Xavier's lips making him smile, With that she walked out leaving them alone. 

"What's going on dad?... What's this marriage thing..."

Skyler asked annoyingly.

Xavier sighed.

"It's a procedure, if you want to inherit everything then you have to marry..."

"Marry?... And what?... What you want me to do after that, dad?... I am not like you, you know I don't believe in love and all this shit. And marriage is a big no!... I can't stay with some random girl..."

He spat frustratingly.

"And don't bother to explain anything because I can't be like you. What are you doing dad? Why you are so possessive, she is your wife for fuck sake. There no need of so much obsession. Why you are so scared with the thought of losing her?... She doesn't remember anything, she isn't going anywhere..."

Skyler stopped and looked at his father's defeated face. 

Xavier sighed and sat on the sofa, Skyler released a big sigh and sat beside him. 

"Yes I am scared Skyler... I am scared that I will loose her because she remembers everything..."

He declared and Skyler's eyes snapped towards him. 

"What?... Mom remember everything?"

Skyler was shocked and happy at the same time.

"How do you know?... Did she told you?"

"No! She didn't tell me... But I can tell, I know she knows... But I don't know why she haven't confront me yet... I am scared that she will leave me. Our past wasn't that good, you know that..."

Xavier confessed. 

Skyler looked away from him. He knows how much they both have suffered.

"I know... And still you want me to marry. I can't live my life like you. I can't sacrifice so many things just for love. I hate that word dad... Love almost killed you both..."

"Her love is the only thing which is keeping me alive, Skyler..."

Xavier said and Skyler rolled his eyes.

"It's not love, it's obsession..."

Skyler scowled. 

Xavier chuckled.

"There isn't much difference... You will experience that too. Afterall you have my blood in your veins..."

"I am not marrying anyone dad... I am not ready for commitment..."

Skyler replied annoyingly. 

"I know, you are not ready... And I won't force you."

Xavier patted his back.

"But listen to me first... You have already took over me. You are the boss now, only thing is I have to legally transfer everything to your name. And you are doing good, I am proud of you. But you should never underestimate you rivals. Russians are growing their business and power. We have enemies in our country itself, you need backup no matter how big your mafia is. And that support can give you only one person, that is Damian knight. But for that too we need assurance and that is marriage alliance. Damian has agreed with it too, he has beautiful daughter who is smart and equally strong as Rose. She will be perfect Donna for you. I wouldn't have fixed your marriage like this if you would have been in love with someone else but you are not and there is no wrong in doing it."

Xavier explained. 

Skyler roamed his hand through his hair frustratingly.

"That girl will come with so many expectations and I can't fullfill it, you know it..."

Xavier sighed.

"I know... That's why I am not forcing you. Damian said the same, if you both are ready then only we will take things further... Don't tell your mom about it, she is not ready for this agreement. If possible tell her that you love Rosetta. She will be happy..."

"I haven't said yes yet... I will think about it, If it's for business."

Skyler stood up. 

Xavier stood up and patted his back.

"I know you will take the right decision..."

"What's her name again?"

Skyler asked.

"Rosetta Damian knight... Same girl whom you want to kidnap and marry in the childhood. You haven't seen her as you were in abroad. She will be perfect wife for you. Trust me..."

Xavier chuckled. 

"That girl?... She wasn't even born dad, isn't she too younger for me?"

Skyler frowned.

"5 years gap Skyler..."

Xavier stated. 

"Fuck, I have to deal with fucking teenager..."

Skyler growled. 

"She is 23..."

Xavier rolled his eyes.

"What's the difference?"

Skyler said frustratingly. Xavier shook his head and walked out of the library. 

"Rosetta... You better say no to this marriage..."

He spat.
