“Really? A human mate?” Mikael asked for the third time. He saw Rayvin laugh and nod.

“Yes, a human mate, a sheriff,” she told him again.

“The moon goddess must have gone temporarily insane,” he muttered. “And why are we keeping this a secret?”

“Because she wants to tell her family, but she is feeling a little insecure. We are giving her time to feel secure in the mating, to let her see that her human will be just as interested in her as she is in him,” Rayvin patiently explained. They were in Mikael’s office in the house and Rayvin had just told him about her conversation with Milly.
