“Do you think I should have gone with Remus in the third car?” Diana asked, as they were on their way home. “No,” Rayvin said. “Okay, something is up with you. Both of you. You have been strangely insistent that I don’t get involved in this operation. The news regarding the Beta pup spread like a wildfire in the pack. Diana and Ben had gone over to his parents to tell them in person and they called her parents and Milly. Diana was radiating and Ben seemed to keep physical contact with her at all times and glared when people came too close. Rayvin found the whole thing very sweet. The teams watching the cabin reported the humans were still holding up in there. They hadn’t left it during the day they had been there. Rayvin had talked to Remus about how to get at least one of their warriors close enough to the cabin to let them hear what was happening. They decided that if the human stayed another night, Laika would try to sneak closer. There was a part of the cabin where there weren’t any windows. If Laika could get close enough to the cabin without being detected, she could take up posts along that part. Late in the evening, they finally got the information they had been waiting for. The humans had ended several hours of driving around in circles by entering a warehouse in an industrial part of the city. After some careful recon, the teams could report it seemed like there were numerous humans in the warehouse. Rayvin called Alpha Brutus to let him know they most likely had found the headquarters. He told her he was sending five agents to them. They would arrive the next afternoon. Diana arranged for the warriors that had been watching the humans to be relieved as they had been in the field for days. The following day, Remus joined Rayvin and Diana to welcome the agents from Mistvalley. He then headed to the airport to go and interrogate the Alpha of the rogues. The agents from Mistvalley were used to taking orders from Rayvin, and it helped that she knew how they worked. The agents were free to move as they wished in the area. Wyatt was surprised at how good his day was going. When Milly had invited him to meet her family, he had been nervous. Ever since he had met her, when she had stolen his breath away along with his heart. Things had just been amazing. He had never thought someone like her would accept a request to go on a date with someone like him. But the lovely Bella had been unusually persistent that he should ask Milly out. When he had, and she had excepted, everything had just continued moving forward between them. She had been open about her past, that she was spending time with the Blackfurs to get a new start after a tough period in her life, ending in her starting to experiment with drugs. It was Wednesday afternoon, Rayvin and Diana walked up to a tidy-looking town house in the human town. Diana was carrying a gigantic apple pie. Rayvin had asked the kitchen to make it for the bookclub she and Diana had been invited to. She had, unfortunately, forgotten to tell them it was meant for humans. They had made it with werewolf appetite in mind. ‘Ready?’ Rayvin mind linked Diana.‘No, are you sure I need to be here?’ Diana asked. ‘If I have to be here, you have to,’ Rayvin insisted and rang the doorbell. The party was in full swing, and Rayvin was having fun. For one night, it was good for the pack to let go of everything that was going on and just enjoy themselves.
