Chapter Forty One - She is gone

We pulled up outside of Scarlett’s place, both on edge and looking around.

“Right, let’s get in here quickly and get what I need,” Scarlett said.

We had one last look around, and everything seemed clear. We rushed in, but when we got there, her front door was kicked in.

“Stay behind me,” she said.

She took the gun from her back, holding it in position, and we cautiously made our way in. The place was trashed! The home was ransacked.

We walked around checking the place one room at a time to ensure that nobody was there. The place was a mess.

“We are all good. No one is here.” Scarlett said.

“OK, let’s get your stuff and get out of here,” I replied.
