Alruin

“What really happened between you and your sister, Marla?” I asked while we settled around a fire, after travelling for hours without finding a nearby town.

Marla decided we should rest for the night close to a river because even if we did get attacked by the beasts, the water was something that could repel them. She had a grim look on her face the entire time, her eyes darting around unsteadily like some trapped animal in a corner. I could tell that she was uneasy. Her fingers quivered from time to time, even though she tried to maintain a steady expression. The question I asked rocked her, and her eyes flickered with surprise.

“I just want to know why we need to keep both of you away from each other.” I added and Cain and Nyari suddenly stared at Marla with interest, as if they had also been curious to know.

She stared into the fire, its glow reflecting in her pupils as her frown formed wrinkled lines on her forehead. “We were the most powerful force in our coven, becaus

  • Scarred By My Alpha   Chapter 130

MalricMy heart was pounding as I drew nearer to Vantheir’s gate. I could already see its massive walls from the hill Shelly and I stood on. I still felt that strange sense of danger in the air, but the overwhelming feeling of being so close to a place I had once called home submerged every other emotion. I decided to rest until the sun went down and sat under a massive willow tree. It brought back memories of the first time I kissed Alruin and I could almost feel those soft, sensual and delicate lips of his on mine again. A smile trickled across my lips and I scoffed, I shouldn’t be thinking about that now. All I had to focus on was getting back to him and making sure that he was safe. There was something about Marla that I didn’t like, she tended to withdraw and detach herself so easily when things got complicated. What if she did the same when it mattered the most? We couldn’t trust her wholeheartedly. To me, Alruin and I only had each other, and no one else.I allowed Shelly

Lorak“Are you really going to let him see his father then?”She sat across from me, her slit dress revealing most of her thighs. She had an angry look on her face, a sharp expression in her eyes and her jaw was set firmly; she was thinking hard. I had come to understand the lady in these fews meetings we had. She was overly ambitious and determined, but she never talked about her goals, just the work that needed to be done at the moment. She intrigued me for someone who was young, she wasn’t rash and neither were her emotions erratic. Logical and meticulous in everything she did, from walking to drinking and even blinking…but she did have one flaw; she was not as smart as she thought she was. “I don’t know. I have to let him come into the house, lure him in deep enough so he’d have no escape. So, I guess so.” She replied flatly, “there’s nothing I can do but that.”She uncrossed her legs and spread them wide open so I could see well into her thighs at her camel toe bulging out of

  • Scarred By My Alpha   Chapter 128

Malric“Don’t you have parents to go back to?”He shook his head, “Nope. I lost both of them during a raid. A rogue came to the city and tried to kill everyone. I thought they’d take over the town, but they were actually just passing through.” “You ran away?” I asked and mockingly added, “even if you’re such a great swordsman that could kill four men even while being held hostage?”His eyes grew dim with sadness and he managed to smile, “Yes. I ran away. My put me on a horse and slapped the horse’s arse, screaming at me not to look back. I should have listened to him, he was always wiser. I turned around, tears streaming down my face right before I saw a werewolf’s claw smash through his head like a watermelon.” I felt a sharp prick in my heart, but didn’t say anything. Was that sympathy I felt? I shouldn’t have to harbor such emotions. Everybody dies at some point, that happened to be his father’s end. I grabbed the reins of my stray horse after finding it deep in the woods and s

MalricThey advanced forward slowly, carefully, as though they were hunting a dangerous beast.I watched them without moving another inch, my eyes rotating as far as they could. I couldn’t quite see the men behind me. It felt like I had been sold out at this point by the kid, but I couldn’t be sure. These men could have picked me up at the bar and followed me, or followed the kid. I heaved a deep breath and tried to settle the issue non-violently. “If you have the Alpha of Vantheir at your mercy, why attack him then ask him for favors? A dead Alpha is worth nothing to you.” I said casually, still watching them keenly. The man who had spoken before sneered mockingly, “He’s trying to bluff, but we know you are not the Alpha anymore. The great Alpha Draven is.” Great?“There is a secret bounty on your head. Only a few, organized men like us know about it and we had a feeling you’d come back,” he said and grinned, “the Alpha said, dead or alive, the bounty stands.” I frowned in conf

  • Scarred By My Alpha   Chapter 125

Malric “One shot.” I told the bar man, tossed a coin across the counter and settled down on a bar stool. The acrid smell of alcohol, dirt and cheap cigarettes was coming from a particular table where a group of garrulous miners and truck drivers gathered. I looked away, frowning at the entrance until the barman returned with my order. I poured the shot of liquor down my throat in one gulp and stamped the glass on the counter. “Will that be all, mister?” the barman asked greedily, eager for me to order something else.I rose to my feet and replied flatly, “Yes.” I walked out of the bar and retrieved my horse from the stable. I had been riding for about a day already and urgently needed to rest. I couldn’t wait to get back to Vantheir. A night in that warm bedroom of mine would do the trick. My back was aching and my limbs throbbed as though they had been panelbeaten. No amount of stretching could loosen my muscles. I led my horse to a little stream for some water and settled under
