Alpha Lucas's POV

As Greg leaves to start the search for Cole, my focus returns to Zach, who looks up at me with haunted eyes. "Did dad really do this?" he asks, his voice a mixture of disbelief and dread. I pull up a chair, sitting across from him, trying to offer some semblance of comfort. "I don't know, Zach. But the evidence we've gathered so far is troubling."

I turn to look into Alison’s eyes, reaching behind Zach’s back I grab her hand, needling touch to lend me strength and I open a link to her ‘We didn’t see it, Ali. How did we not see this was going on?’ She shakes her head, her own eyes misty. ‘I don’t know, Lucas. But we’ll make it right. We have to.’

The night wears on, and we sit in a silent vigil by Zahra’s side, the steady beep of the monitors a constant reminder of the fragile life fighting for recovery in front of us. The tumult of my mind is occasionally interrupted by updates from Greg but it’s not until 3am that we have a breakthrough. ‘Alpha, we’ve found him’ I si

Zahra's POVWhen I see Tobias step into the ring before me, a mix of nerves and excitement bubbles up in my chest. He smiles at me, his eyes twinkling with something unreadable as I head toward him.“How are you feeling, little one?” he asks, his voice warm.“Good. Back to fighting fit,” I answer confidently, standing tall despite the butterflies dancing in my stomach. He smiles, a crooked grin that’s equal parts charming and infuriating. “I’m glad to hear it.”“And how are you feeling, Your Highness?” I add, deliberately formal, knowing it’ll needle him. We’re surrounded by future Alphas, and I don’t want anyone mistaking our banter for favouritism. As expected, his eyes tighten slightly, and the corners of his mouth dip into a brief frown. “I’m as fit as a fiddle,” he says smoothly, tho

Zahra's POVEduardo’s voice booms, “Go!” and he punches the stopwatch. We begin circling each other. Brant moves like a predator—his muscles coiled; every step deliberate. I take my time, watching and analysing his movements, refusing to make the first move but acutely aware of the clock ticking down. My nerves start to prickle, but Zanthe’s voice cuts through the doubt.‘Don’t think like that. If you beat him, he might recommend you to the academy as well. Hunker down and show him what you’re made of.’She’s my biggest cheerleader, and as always, she’s right. If I can impress Alpha Brant, it might really help my application. No pressure, right?Brant lunges, his powerful muscles exploding into movement. He comes at me with fists flying, faster than a wolf his size usually is. I block his hits with my arms, but each strike feels like being hit by a charging bull. The sheer force of it reverberates through my bones, and I know I can’t let him keep up this barrage.‘Go on the offense,’

  • Scarred by fate    Chapter 192

Zahra's POVWhen we get there, I notice a few others have already finished—Tobias and his team, Baxter, Blake, my brother, and the guys. Not many others, though. Everyone is nearly bent double, breathing hard and trying to recover. As we pull up, I narrow my eyes at Baxter. “You guys didn’t feel like taking the scenic route Eduardo dragged me on?”He grins unapologetically. “I wanted to see how far you could maintain that pace.”“And?” I arch a brow, waiting for the result.“Another 3 kilometres. You just ran 8 kilometres almost as fast as this lot ran 5.”I blink at him, stunned. Eight kilometres? I didn’t expect that.By the time the last of the runners trickle back onto the field, I’m fully recovered. Baxter has everyone stretch now that we’re warmed up, while Blake retrieves the infamous glass bowls for the next draw.As Blake sets up, I spot a group walking over—Alice, Princess Charlotte, King James, Kayla, Pauline, and Sasha. My stomach twists. Great, more of an audience. Just w

  • Scarred by fate    Chapter 191

Zahra's POVTonight, I’m having dinner in the Beta Suite with my Uncle Nicholas, Aunt Kayla, and Cousin Alice. Aiden is off doing something with Tobias and the others, and honestly, I’m grateful for the quieter evening. I’m completely exhausted after today. My hands are sore from gripping ropes on the obstacle course, and every muscle in my body is screaming after the sparring sessions. Zanthe is working overtime to heal me, her usual chatter absent as she focuses on mending the damage. As we eat, Uncle Nicholas looks at me and says, “In the morning, Zahra, we’ll head back over for the continuation of the challenges. Then, during the camp’s break, Baxter wants to test you himself in some combat moves.”I raise an eyebrow, half-dreading what "testing" with Baxter might entail. Nicholas continues, “After lunch, there’s a lecture on pack politics. You’re welcome to attend, but I think Alice and Princess Charlotte have something planned instead.”He glances at Alice, who is grinning so wid

Max's POVThe challenges kick off again, and things finally get interesting. Oscar’s name is called, and he’s up against Jasper, the Royal Gamma. Oscar puts up an incredible fight. It’s intense, but in the last few seconds before they can call it a draw, Jasper takes him down, forcing Oscar to submit. It’s a strong effort, though, and he should be proud. I know he’ll hate losing, but he did well.Eliot, on the other hand, takes visible pleasure in obliterating Logan Grey. Honestly, I think everyone enjoys watching Logan get flattened. But then it’s my turn, and I’m up against the Alpha Brant of Night Howlers. He’s tough… really tough. I give it everything I have, but eventually, I have to submit. I’m not too upset about it. At least I made it this far. Last year, I went out in the second round, so this feels like progress. And hey, if you’re going to l

  • Scarred by fate    Chapter 198

Max's POVGoddess, I love camp. This year should be even better than previous years, mostly because Christine and Bianca aren’t here to stir the pot, and Ralph and Noah are finally stepping into their roles. The guys have transitioned into their new positions seamlessly, thanks to the Blood Moon training team. Gamma Austin and Delta Greg have been working with them instead of George and Eli—no one thought they’d be keen on training their daughters’ replacements. Ralph and Noah are psyched to be here for their first camp. I just hope they don’t embarrass us. I’m pretty sure they won’t.Training with Blood Moon has been intense but worth it. The improvement is undeniable. I feel stronger, sharper, and more prepared than ever. I can’t wait to see how the camp challenges push me this year.We settled into our cabin last night, sharing with the Opal Moon team. It’s always good to see them.
