Chapter 30

Jefferson smiled happily; his presence was like an oasis in the desert; that person was Homer.

"Homer, I'm sorry to make you wait. I was lost earlier. Oh, this mansion is too big. I'm still not used to the halls," said Jefferson.

Jefferson was about to take a step toward Homer, but Hugo held his hand before he could take his first step. Jefferson's eyes stared at Hugo, but he just smiled as if nothing annoying had happened.

"I'm not done with him," Hugo told Homer.

Jefferson turned to Homer, he hoped Homer could help him out of this situation, but he quickly disappointed Jefferson by nodding; he wasn't angry or looked annoyed. Maybe it's not a big problem, so Homer was okay with that.

Homer walked in with his hands in his pockets and showed Hugo his phone. "Tell me when you're done. I need to take care of other things first."

Hugo nodded, while Jefferson's face turned pale, he could only stare at Homer's back, which disappeared as he turned into an alley.
