LOGINTori’s POV
~8 years later~
“Tori, sweetheart, hurry up. You’re going to be late to the party” chimes the voice of my mother, Layla, her warm, rich amber eyes now watching as her child slowly makes an appearance before her.
“Do I have to go mom? All the other kids make fun of me” I whine, my own amber eyes now locked with hers as we silently watch one another. My short auburn hair neatly brushed upon my head.
“Yes sweetie, you must go. You're the future Gamma of this pack. It’s important for you. Today’s the day that Jake, Zak and Alex each get their wolves as they each turn 14 today” replies Layla to her son.
Sighing, I know better than to argue with my mother. For while I might only be 8 years old, the fact that Jake, Zak and Alex have been nothing but kind to me since the day I was born was considered a blessing. Something I would never understand until I was someday older.
“Okay mom, if you say so” I finally mutter, agreeing to attend the big, huge party for the future Alpha, Beta and Delta of our pack. A piece of me wishing that I too was getting my wolf but knew I wouldn’t as I still had another 6 years to go and for an 8-year-old boy that was still a long time to wait.
“Sweetheart, I know it’s not easy for you right now. Being scentless was not part of the plan but I promise you, your father and I love you very, very much and nothing you say or do will ever change that.”
“I know mom” I say, not wanting to worry her with all my problems. Problems that were mine to bare and bare alone.
“Tori...” tries my mother again only to stop when I move to walk away from her.
“I’m going to be late mom. I’ll just see you later okay” is all I manage to say before I move to grab each of my presents for Jake, Zak and Alex. Small homemade gifts that I took the time to make. A gift that was similar to what I wore around my own wrist. A homemade bracelet with beautiful crystals woven into each band.
I really do hope that they like these, I think before leaving our home, knowing that my father would be present as he was Alpha Dawson’s Gamma. Alpha Chase Dawson, who was the current Alpha of our pack until Jake could someday take over for him.
A smile making its way across my face as Jake, Zak and Alex became the only three boys to ever make me feel special to them. To make me feel wanted and never a burden. Almost like I was being seen for the first time in all my life.
Shaking my head, I choose to ignore all my random thoughts of them. My 8-year-old self too little to comprehend the deeper meaning of their actions or at least for now anyways. But maybe when I was older, I would gradually understand everything that was going on around me.
Zak’s POVWe were just finishing up within Jake and Aaron’s Office when suddenly the door to the Office burst open. The force of it opening enough to draw each of our attention. Our eyes catching that of Aaron’s Gamma, Milla. Milla looking as if she just ran a mile to get here. Aaron suddenly concerned for his Gamma or our Gamma as Tori was no longer considered a Gamma all thanks to the Elders while Tyson had decided on going with Arlo as Tyson was Arlo’s mate along with being the mate of Sienna, Owen, and Quin.“Milla?”“Come quick! Tori needs you! Elijah and Jordan are both trying to help but they just can’t.”At the mention of that does panic begin to set in. Having just been told by Jake that Tori was pregnant with our pups to now hearing that Tori was in danger made my heart instantly hurt. The four of us standing when Jake moves to lock eyes with me.“Zak, you go with Milla, see what’s happening down there. Aaron, Alex and I will be right behind you.”Nodding my head do I automa
Tori’s POVWhen first regaining my senses after Rune had initially taken over my body that I hadn’t had time to ask Aven very much about it. My stomach using that time to growl. The two of us then laughing once it passed.Aven taking that time to guide me in the direction of the packhouse. A piece of me missing Rune and his voice. A concern I don’t bother to hide as I move to address Aven as we walk.“Hey Aven?”“Yeah Tori?”“I’m worried.”“About what?”“Rune. It’s just… I miss him and I don’t really know what’s going on with me and why he won’t answer me.”A sigh quick to rise as Aven and I both pause. The two of us just outside the packhouse doors. Aven almost hesitating on telling me as he moves to sigh again.“I know you are Tori. And I truly wish that I could tell you why, but I just can’t.”“Can’t or won’t?”Groaning, Aven turns to look at me. “Both. But it’s for good reason. Now stop worrying. Rune’s still with you and will come to you should you need him but for not stop worry
Alex’s POV“Bloody fucking hell” I growl. Jake having done an emergency meeting just after the Moon Goddess had left. Jake having summoned Aaron, Zak and Myself all to his office minus Tori as it apparently pertained to him in general.“Dude are you sure?” asks Zak, having been sitting down next to me once we were all within the room.“Positive”The room suddenly silent. None of us sure how to process exactly what we’ve been given by Jake. Jake having just told us that the Elders along with Lilyanna had basically re-opened the Luna Games and that she and Tori were both constraints.Groans rising within the room as Aaron continued to sit in complete silence. His mind currently elsewhere. Jake, Zak and I soon on him. “Aaron?”Aaron still silent. Almost like he was ignoring us.“AARON!”Blinking at finally hearing his name does Aaron slowly move to look at us. Concern rising as I move to cheek in with him. “Are you alright? You’ve been pretty quiet since we all entered the room.” Jake’s
Aven’s POV“Come on Tori, AGAIN”Groaning at my words does Tori move to hunch over. His hands currently resting upon his knees as he and I both train for the upcoming Luna Games. Tori having told me that Lilyanna and the Elders had re-opened the games that I was definitely worried for his safety.“I can’t… I think I’m going to be sick” whispers Tori as he moves to dry heave towards the ground. My hand quick to hand him a bottle of water as I move to study his form and his body. Something about him off.Something about Tori throwing me off.Quick to shake my head do I move to speak my mind. “Let’s take 30.” Tori quick to sigh as he moves to collapse towards the ground, water in hand as he moves to chug half the bottle before exhaling softly. My voice quick to rise as I move to ask him something important. Something that I’ve been meaning to ask him since we began training earlier that day.“Hey Tor?”“Y… Yeah?”“Are you sure your okay to train? You look pale and a little green around t
Jake’s POV“And that’s completely normal my child” chimes a new voice. The voice female which causes us to look at who had spoken. Mother and I both gasping at who it was we saw.“Moon Goddess”Mother and I both quick to bow in hopes of showing our respect to the great Moon Goddess herself. The Moon Goddess simply smiling as she continued to watch us. “Please, just call me Selene.”“Selene?”“Yes, Selene”Upon hearing that does Mother and I both move to relax. Our focus still on Selene as she continued to stand before us. “Selene, why are you here? I mean, I only ask because it’s rare for you to show yourself to others.”Selene simply giggling at the question, as if she wasn’t phased by it in the least.“Yes, that is true. And while I do rarely show myself to others, I did feel like I needed to show myself to you before I spoke with Tori.”“Tori?”“Yes. For you see…. Tori and Rune are what I call special. As they are what I call magical runes or in layman’s term a Rune wolf. Another t
Jake’s POVWhat in the Moon Goddess’s realm did Lilyanna think she was doing! Not only is she being totally disrespectful to me and the pack but to me and my mates as well.Tori’s mother having contacted me just shortly after Lilyanna had left their house but not before giving Tori a note. A note in regards to the Luna Games. Games that had been banned for as long as I could remember. Games that were dangerous as those who participated in them became violent.Vox growling at the thought of our mate playing those games and with Lilyanna of all people. A notion that was completely unacceptable. For not only were they dangerous but Tori was more than likely carrying our pups or at least that was our theory based on what we all smelt when hanging around him in general. The scent faint but as the 2 weeks began to pass by so did the scents until finally all that was left was the one that smelled highly of lilac, lemon and almond. The unique scent that was Tori’s. And while Tori might not ha
