Soren's Pov

I kissed her again, this time softly, before trailing my lips away from her mouth and down to her neck. Her grip around my shirt tightened instantly, followed by one of her soft, breathy whimpers that went straight through me. It was then I realized she was holding on with her injured hand. I had almost forgotten about the cuts, the bandages, everything that had happened just moments before.

I carefully broke the contact, despite the heavy, almost painful arousal burning through me. I felt so hot, my skin tight and sensitive, and having her pressed against me like this only made it worse, every nerve ending screaming for more.

"We should go to bed," I heaved harshly, trying to catch my breath, forcing the words out through sheer will. I hated whatever principles I had laid down for myself in that moment, but I had to prioritize her wellbeing, even if it meant I'd be showering with cold water for an hour to cool off before I could even think about sleep.
