Saving The Secretary

04

Alessia’s Point Of View:

“I don’t really tolerate pervert men like you in my building, Mr. Whitlock.” It almost became a whisper because of so much intensity that Yadiel put on every word that he spat.

His face flashed red and his eyes were turning dark as he pierced his attention to Mr. Whitlock.

The pure shock was written all over their faces. Gasping and eyes asking for the clarification, they all looked at Mr. Whitlock’s direction who also seemed to be shocked as the terror plastered on his face.

He felt humiliated for the things that he had done.

“What are... Are you talking about?” He stammered, hanging his head low in so much embarrassment.

Yadiel sarcastically let out a scoff before scrunching his nose, obviously irritated on Mr. Whitlock for denying his sin. I saw how he crumpled his first into a tight ball as if preventing himself from something.

“Stop accusing me, Mr. Williams. I have nothing to do with what you’re saying.” He shook his head, clearly denying.

But the businessmen and women obviously didn’t buy him.

Yadiel seemed like he can’t handle his anger anymore causing him to stand aggressively making his swiveling chair roll backwards until it reaches the wall which made a loud banging all throughout the room.

It’s like he’s fucking ready to have a fight while his eyes were sharply glaring Mr. Whitlock’s guilty eyes.

That gave an uneasiness to my being. I held my chair to gain strength because of my trembling knees while continuously swallowing the nervousness in my body.

I can’t really take even a minute to watch him that mad as if he’s ready to burry someone alive.

“Why the fuck are you still denying it?” Yadiel hissed, soul was burning and loosens his necktie to get some air.

“I don’t have to explain myself anymore. She’s not even that sexy,” Mr. Whitlock shrugged his shoulders.

That made my blood boils, but before I could even react, Yadiel walks his way to him angrily, brows were narrowed while releasing and inhaling a large amount of breath.

All my hair on the body stood up as I watched him breathlessly.

“The guts of this old man.” He mumbled under his breath while making his way to Mr. Whitlock and his expression closed up.

Awe transformed my face when he grab Mr. Whitlock’s collar and pushed him towards the hard wall.

Pain was written all over his face and tries to hold his back whose bones were clicked but failed when Yadiel continued to pushed him.

“Do you want me to show you the footage? I can sue you for doing that!” A vein popped out in his neck.

I unconsciously stood up in so much shocked and took a hold on the edge of the table to support my knees.

Fear literally crossed Mr. Whitlock’s face and in aggressiveness, he managed to let go Yadiel’s hands on his collar. He puts his palms on his knees as he catches his own breath.

All the people gathered to help him while Yadiel took a few steps back to go to my direction.

“Are you okay?” Concerned washed his face and held me in my hand. His voice suddenly went from a growl of the lion to a guy who’s talking to a baby. “You’re trembling,” he noticed and pressed my palm with his thumb.

He scanned his eyes around, trying to look for something but ended up grabbing my arm to follow him.

I nearly fell on my knees because of that causing him to stopped from walking to apologize to me before pulling my hand with gentleness.

That’s when I realized that everybody’s eyes were on us. I hung my head low in embarrassment as I followed Yadiel from behind, leaving all of them confuse.

“Where are you two going?” Asked by Madame Clayton with her parted lips as she trails her eyes to mine down to our hands.

“Don’t get Mr. Whitlock step on my company again.” Authority was screaming in his voice.

He didn’t let Madame Clayton talk and just walked out, pulling me by his back.

I don’t know what to say nor what to react. My body remained stiffened as I followed him towards his car and observed him turn to the driver’s side door after opening the door for me.

“Where are we going?” I uttered under my breath and instead of being comfortable, I feel more uncomfortable than I was before.

I have never been experienced this before. Me, being this close to a guy is enough to make me feel uneasy. All my life, I never tried to talk to anyone especially when it’s opposite to my gender. I always get nervous at the same time felt not safe, not because I’m thinking bad about them but because it’s just part of me.

All the guys, flocking and forming lines of lines to get my attention, I have two reasons why I don’t want to talk to them.

First is that I am a woman of my words. I promise to my family and to myself that I will never entertain someone if I don’t have yet a stable job and income to provide for my family needs and also my needs.

Second is that I really doesn’t want talking to guys. Their beards, building-like heights, broad shoulders and hard chests is just so disgusted for me. If for other girls they think it’s appealing, well for me, it’s not.

But even though I’m giving prejudices’ to guys, I didn’t let myself disrespect them just because of my perspective and assumptions on them.

I glanced at Yadiel who now parked his car on the side of the road after driving his way out of the company.

He stopped the car and washed his hands on his face as he lowered his head down to the steering wheel.

I heard him mumbled some words while looking down on his feet before sliding his fingers from his forehead until it reaches to his nape. He massaged it as he raised his head on the ceiling, really frustrated on what had happened.

‘But this guy beside me, I am not feeling uncomfortable because of his large chest nor broad shoulders. I’m feeling uncomfortable because of his presence that unconsciously brought unknown feeling to my being who makes the butterflies inside my stomach alive after a long time of hiding in their homes.’

Maybe this is just because he saved me from Mr. Whitlock that nobody had done for me before.
