Her First Day

03

Alessia’s Point Of View:

I was stopped from staring blankly in the air when the guy in front of me knocked my forehead using his fingers three times to wake me up.

My eyebrows instantly made a line as I raised my head from laying it on my arms whose resting on the top of the desk while massaging my forehead with so much irritation.

If I were to estimate, three hours had passed since I started playing my own hair, murmuring words to myself and distracting myself from being bored.

How would I be not be bored if there’s no work assigned to me. What I’m really expecting for this day to happen is that I will be very busy because it’s my first day, but it seems that it was just an expectation.

I’m disappointed a bit for this is what I really wanted to do, but it came out that I’m more than chill than I was. Preparing for this day to come is quite a bad idea.

“You do know that you’re not supposed to sleep here, right?” He asked while twitching his right eyebrow in amusement as he watched me letting a soft yet long yawn.

I blinked my eyes several times to bring my senses back before stretching my body, exposing my bare shoulder and white armpits.

I faced him with my messy hair and raised my head up to see him clearly.

He’s like an amused dog seeing its owner in this state for the very first time.

“How the hell would I not be sleepy if you didn‘t even gave me any works to do!” I hissed despite on my cracked voice.

I feel like I need some water for over three hours of not talking.

I stood up to get my bag and opened my water container to have a good sip. I even burp vulgarly which made myself satisfied.

He winced and tilted his head as if so done with me.

“Come with me. We will be attending a meeting,” he put his both hands inside his pockets as he took a step back after I sprayed some perfume all over my body.

He even coughed in annoyance and waved his hands on the air.

“Really?” My eyes twinkled in excitement while hurriedly packed my things.

“Don’t be too much excited. It’s just a discussion.” He noticed and shook its head.

“Don’t meddle on my things, okay?” My voice were threatening as I pointed the edge of the pen that I was holding that made him sigh. “Let’s go!” I chirped after arranging my things and hugged the paper board on my chest.

Yadiel didn’t answer and turned his back on me while I followed him from behind, slightly dancing my heels and humming a song.

“Do you already memorize this building?” He asked and clicked the tenth floor, where the conference room is located.

I nodded three times while taking scribbles on the paper.

“How about my telephone number, emergency number, personal number and the company’s number. Did you memorize it all?” Yadiel glanced at me really sure that I will satisfy him from getting the reaction that he wants.

Proud and bragging to what I have done doing, I again nodded my head three times.

His eyes grew wider in pure amusement and parted his lips.

“I told you, I am the top one awardee in our school.” I blurted out and flashed a silly smirk.

He didn’t bother himself answering nor reacting to what I’ve said and instead walked out after hearing the clicking sound of the lift.

Thinking that I annoyed him, I giggled at myself while walking from his back until we enter a huge room with a full pack of businessmen and women.

I was the only one who smiled and greeted them unlike Yadiel who walked straight towards his chair as if no one’s in the room except him.

I was about to excuse myself when Mr. Whitlock, an old man who’s in late 60s came back to me. He has a white hair, a beard that was connecting to the edge of his hair and a height that was nearly towering me.

“Do you want to have dinner later?” My forehead furrowed at what he said.

Seeing his mysterious grin while trailing his eyes on me sent shivers down to my spine.

“No, thank you.” Even though I’m confused, I still managed to fake a smile. “I need to go,” I didn‘t let myself hear his disagreement and just turned my back to sit beside Yadiel’s seat.

It’s like all demons were surrounding me the moment I realized that Mr. Whitlock’s seat was beside me. I shifted uncomfortably on my seat when he sat the chair near me with a wide smirk.

Swallowing the lump and wiping my sweats on my neck as I tried myself not to let the board members noticed the trembling of my knees, I averted my eyes into the other direction.

Right after I shifted my gaze, Yadiel’s eyes meet mine.

The corner of his eyes crinkled when he noticed how uncomfortable I was but then avoided his gaze after a few seconds of looking him straight into the eyes.

I crumpled my fist into a ball under my chair and fold my toes when I felt Mr. Whitlock’s movement.

He slightly raised his arms to reach for my damn legs! He tried to touch my skin using the tip of his fingers while his eyes were focused on the projector as of he’s not doing anything bad.

I don’t know if I would be glad for wearing slacks or not.

In so much nervousness, I avoided myself to him causing me to bumped Yadiel‘s knees.

Yadiel glanced at me, brows were furrowed and forehead were creased as he scanned my whole being.

I unconsciously wiped the sweats forming on my forehead using the back of my palm and bit my lower lip out of anxiety.

He leaned at me after a minute, “You’re turning white,” he whispered and pointed my face.

I ate my lips and shut my eyes close when I felt Mr. Whitlock’s hand on my legs.

I want to move, but I can’t. I want to shout for help, but nervousness and fear is creeping me out.

My body is trembling so as my knees, my palms were creating a million bullets of sweat and again avoided my legs to him.

My knees again touched Yadiel’s knees because of that causing him to narrow his eyes on me.

I want to cry, but I don’t know how. This is the first time has ever happened to me, and I’m beyond shock for me to react to it.

That’s when Yadiel starts to noticed that something is wrong. Out of curiosity, he looked down and nearly got his face all red after witnessing what has Mr. Whitlock‘s been doing all the time.

I held Yadiel’s hand and squeezed it to find support.

He looked at me, really worried and caressed his thumb on the back of my palm before gazing back at Mr. Whitlock’s who seemed to not noticed that Yadiel already knew what he was doing.

For the second time, he tried but stopped because of the huge voice of the guy beside me.

“One wrong fucking move Mr. Whitlock and I’ll cut that hands of yours.” His face went black as he clenches his jaw while narrowing his eyes on Mr. Whitlock’s who seemingly shocked.

His shoulders rose up and swallows several times while trying himself not to move.

“You’re really pissing me off!” Yadiel’s voice thundered the whole room making all of them gasped in pure shock.

Even I instantly got frightened because of his eyes whose like making fireballs. It was like as if he saw something from the past because of the scene causing him to be this mad.

My entire body stiffened and waited on what will going to happen next.
