“Are you okay? Do you want me to come with you?” Penny asks me, worry written across her face.

“No, it’s okay – I will just go straight to class afterward,” I say, her lips turning into a small pout. She may be a human and a bit childlike, but I swear she knows more than meets the eye.

I make my way to the toilets, the hallways seem abandoned. I enter the bathroom and rush over to the sink. I cup my hands under the faucet and splash my heated face with the cool liquid. It does nothing to soothe the heat that covers my entire body – why does that jerk rile me up so much? Why do his stares heat my body, leave my skin covered in goosebumps, and have a burning desire to have him against me?

While lost in my thoughts, I take a bunch of paper towels and wipe my face from the water residue. I let out a troubled sigh before jerking away from my thoughts by a loud banging sound.

My eyes snap to the bathroom door, which is now held against the wall. I growl in annoyance as a tall, handsome jerk
