Petal's POV

As I focused on my plate, trying to ignore his piercing gaze, I continued to eat, deliberately avoiding any eye contact. The atmosphere around the dining table was warm, my family engaged in pleasant conversation, but I felt anything but comfortable. The air around me felt heavy, suffocating, as if I was trapped in an invisible cage.

Then, suddenly, I felt it—a firm hand resting on my thigh. My entire body tensed. My fingers froze around the fork, and before I could react, his hand moved, fingers tracing slow, deliberate circles against the fabric of my dress. A jolt of shock shot through me, my stomach tightening in unease. I choked on my food, coughing violently as my throat burned from the unexpected obstruction.

My mother, ever so caring, reached out in concern. “Petal, are you okay? Have some water,” she said, her voice filled with worry.

I grabbed the glass of water and took a sip, nodding hastily. “Yes, I’m fine, Mom,” I managed to say, my voice slightly shaky. B

Petal's POV – A Cage of Love and Lies“If I get to know that you shared this with your friend, I’ll make her vanish from college. She won’t even graduate. Do you want that, my flower?”His words were ice, cutting into the fragile parts of me that still hoped he might one day be gentle. He called me "my flower" with the same mouth that delivered threats. His voice was calm — disturbingly calm — and laced with a possessive edge that sent chills down my spine. I could barely breathe, every syllable tightening a noose around my throat.“And I know,” he continued, leaning closer, his breath grazing the shell of my ear, “your little mind is probably thinking of escape. You're trying to figure out how to run. But know this — you can’t escape me. Not easily. I won’t let you go.”I wanted to scream, to push him away, but I had learned by now — resistance only made things worse. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I stayed silent. I refused to give him the satisfaction of breaking me aloud. I turne

Petal's POV"I'M GETTING MARRIED AFTER THREE MONTHS!" I blurted out so fast it sounded like a single, unbroken word.Samy's eyes widened in disbelief. Her mouth fell open, her face frozen in an expression of absolute shock. "What the...?!" she muttered, blinking like she hadn’t heard me right. Then, louder—too loud—she repeated, "What?! You're getting married after three months?!"Heads turned. Conversations stopped. People in the canteen started staring at us like we were characters in a soap opera. My face flushed with embarrassment. We both bowed our heads and muttered, "Sorry," as if that could erase the awkward attention we had drawn.Samy lowered her voice to a sharp whisper, leaning in, her eyes locked on mine. "You are seriously getting married after three months?!"I simply nodded. Her mouth opened again, and this time the questions flew in rapid-fire. "With whom? Who’s that guy? Do I know him? What does he do? When did this happen? Are your parents okay with it? Is it arrang

Petal's POV"I'm sorry, Dad. I'm sorry, Mom. I'm really very sorry. I hurt you both with my decision," I choked out, the words falling from my trembling lips as tears streamed down my face. I couldn’t hold it anymore—the guilt, the burden, the confusion, the helplessness. My heart ached under the weight of my secret, and I just wanted them to understand, even if I couldn’t tell them the full truth. My mom stepped forward and enveloped me in her warm, nurturing embrace. “There, there. Everything is okay. You didn’t hurt us, sweetheart. Don’t cry,” she whispered as she held me tightly. Her voice was soft and soothing, the way it always was when I scraped my knee as a kid or had a bad dream. But now, this was no dream—this was my life unraveling before my eyes.I buried my face in her shoulder, sobbing silently, knowing they would be heartbroken if they ever discovered the reality—that I was being forced into a marriage. If they knew that Sebastian, the man they thought was just a busine

Petal's POVMy alarm went off, pulling me out of a restless sleep. I groaned softly as I sat up, my body aching from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position. I stretched my arms over my head, hearing the familiar pop of my joints protesting the awkward posture I had curled into during the night. My back was sore, and my neck stiff, the effect of hours spent tossing and turning in emotional turmoil. I swung my legs off the bed and stood up, allowing the soft, cool touch of the floor to ground me.Crossing over to my closet, I opened the doors and took out a simple yet comfortable outfit for the day. A soft blue kurti paired with faded jeans. Something that didn’t demand much thought but still made me feel presentable. With clothes in hand, I headed straight into the bathroom. The warm shower helped to ease the stiffness in my muscles. I let the water cascade down my body, hoping it could also wash away the weight in my chest. As I dressed and stepped out of the bathroom, I dried my

Author's POVSebastian stormed into his office building, the heavy slam of the car door echoing in the parking lot behind him. His staff sensed something was wrong the moment he entered. His steps were swift, jaw clenched, and brows furrowed in frustration. Today, the coldness in his aura wasn’t just professional—it was personal. His mind was still replaying that morning’s argument, and it had left his mood completely ruined.Meanwhile, back in the lavish yet emotionally hollow D'Angelo mansion, Rebecca sat on the living room couch, tears streaming down her face. She looked nothing like the elegant society woman she was known to be—her hair was messy, eyes swollen, and her usually composed expression was cracked with pain and regret.Steven, her husband, stood beside her, trying to console her—but his own frustration was simmering just beneath the surface.“Why is he behaving like this, Steven?” Rebecca cried, her voice trembling as she gripped the hem of her saree. “I’m his mother. I

Sebastian's POVWe were in the middle of a heated discussion in the living room. Tension hung in the air like a storm cloud ready to burst. My mother, Rebecca, looked furious, her eyes blazing with restrained rage as she folded her arms across her chest."Penelope called me," she began, her voice sharp and accusing, "and was asking, do I even know about your decision? She asked why we didn’t come with you to ask for her daughter’s hand in marriage."I blinked, confused for a moment. My mother wasn’t one to beat around the bush, but today her words felt particularly cutting. She continued coldly.i said "Oh, so Penelope did call. I think maybe when I was talking with Max, she made the call to you."I stood still, trying to hold onto my patience. She raised her voice, "And here our own son, without discussing anything with us, went to her home and fixed his marriage. We are completely unaware of it, and we got informed by an outsider!"She turned and called Penelope an outsider, which m
